Awesome post, I love the vintage dragsters, the bathtub is insane  but the 57 Chevy street freak takes the cake. I love how his arm pops outta the car trough the rear window.

'69 Corvette

Never imagined a stack sticking out one of these before, but it looks pretty badass.

I've been extremely addicted to this style of rod. The rustic feel doesn't help that much either against my addiction.

The Showboat! That cars still around? How awesome is that! They probably don't do ¼ mile runs with it though? Doesn't matter, imagine the sound of quad Buick V8's?

It came over to Goodwood few years back, don't think they started it up though :(

I'm not aware of the current owner or even where this car is being stashed. I have heard (as stumpydino said), that it does come out every now and then to make some show appearances. Indeed, I'd love to hear those 4 Buick V-8's roaring.

Hahaha cool, I had never seen that car. I'd bet he obviously took inspiration from the Hot Wheels car. Awesome 👍

Nice hotrod. Now I wonder if someone would create the HW hotrod car called the Fangula. It would look good in real life though.

The Fangula takes it's inspiration from several 60s show cars, many of which we owe to Ed Roth, Dean Jefries and other top-name customizers. But specially, the Fangula is an absolute rip-off of Roth's Misterion:

Other similar cars:

The Beatnik Bandit, also from Roth:

Roth's Orbitron, found 4 years ago outside a porn shop in Ciudad Juarez, Mexico, and recently restored:

Dean Jefries' Mantarray:

and countless other bubbletop creations rangong from the late 50s to the early 70s. The Fangula is a tribute to this whacky era 👍

I think it's at the Wally Parks museum, at least that was the organisation that shipped it over here with a bunch of other legends, Christman's #25, The Greer, Black & Prudhomme rail, the Glass Slipper...about 10 I think there were. They did a cackle fest of a few of them but sadly not showboat.

Nice! 👍

The cars are great, and I would never thought the Fangula was inspired from these cars, I thought it was a made up hotrod. And after seeing the pics and finding some of the cues that are related to the HW hotrod, I'm thinking of picking up one of those Fangulas. 👍

@Red Trans: Now those beasts are what you call Muscle! I really love the pics with the Daytona Cobras in the garage and is that Mr. Shelby in the background ?!

Man, along with a KPGC Hako Skyline and a BMW 2002ti, I need to get a Superbird with either a 426 or 440ci one day. Mopar all the way! :mischievous:👍

looking for stuff to make Hot Wheels tampos is always a good way of stumbling upon cool cars:

EDIT: Awesome post, Roczx. I love that more people have the chance to discover old-school stuff that has been a legend in the hobby for decades, but that if you're not deep into hot-rodding, you might not know them. Cars like the Backup Pickup, the High and mighty (first car to play with engine setback and a hich center of gravity, the grandpa of all the gasser thingies) and Tony Nancy's Wedge were all part of the history of the sport.

Bob Motz's jet powered Kenworth. One of the reasons I attend the Night Under Fire Event every single year held at Norwalk Raceway Park.

235 mph in just under 7 seconds. I love how he walks it up to the starting line ..... awesome.

Surprisingly enough, I don't know if I like the total gold body on that. Gold as an accent but not a full body color. Still looks nice though.
