The wheels on the Celica appear to be vintage Sport wheels off a Tomica, or a very good replica of such, right? you're not alone, I'm also cooking a swap with wheels like these, only in a Kenmeri Skyline that also received the interior off a Hakosuka.

Welcome to the thread btw, stick around (:

Thanks for not returning a response.

@skootertrash74, You could be a pro and use hobby brushes, or or can remain a scrub like us and use toothpicks. Paints to use? Acrylic or enamel. Most hobbyist use the brands that tailor to said people (i.e. Testors, Tamiya, etc.). I would also invest into thin Tamiya masking tape to do your multi-tone bodies or decals

Yep! Wheels are from a tomica celica turbo in bad shape. I think they fit this celica perfectly.

Very cool. I'll post pics and tag you when I get to finish the Kenmeri.

Also, just bought a lot of 36 of the same car to finally start the custom project we've wanted to put together for a while. Main objetcive is doing even some custom cards and selling them to finance the custom habit and pushing our collections further.

I'm eventually going to work on a custom short card for an R34 I finished ages ago that I haven't revealed to the public yet. It's just that I've been waiting on acquiring the PS3 controller for the longest time and only done so yesterday.

But to get to the real point of this post, I recommend this brand and product lineup for those seeking a clear coat that works wonderfully on enamel (and lacquer):

Dupli-color Acrylic Enamel. It always comes out hella smooth and the spray volume is dense.

Sample (1 tack, 2 mediums):

Probably won't even have to polish these guys. Lacquer and enamel paints respectively.

My next project: HW Nissan Skyline GT-R (R34) Paul Walker Edition. It won't be like the R34 he drove in 2 Fast 2 Furious, but will take inspiration from it. I could complete a car now, just need the time, and pictures along the way.

The HW casting already has a body kit on it. It might be easier to build the body off a stock version from a different brand. Plus, the body change will be more distinguishable.

I'm assuming this is for me? If so, I'm keeping the body stock. Did a wheel swap between the red R34 and black R34 (both 2013 mainline) as well as an interior and base swap. It may seem pointless, but I wanted a gray base and interior with blue accents. It'll be better understood when its finished.

And if that wasn't for my post, then sorry. But, fellow customizers can know what I'm up to with the R34.

Did a little detail work to the Celica. Now it looks the part:cheers:

So you've painted the splitter, interior, rear lamps and changed wheels? Is there anything I missed?

Anywho, freezing rain came down on Saturday so I just had to document the condition of the planters.

To think, this is what it looked like back in September:

Wonder how this will turn out in spring.

I've got hipster taste. No wing. 👍

Here's a disappointing custom I'm going to share.

Before:

After:

Siren removed, paint job, chrome parts swapped, painted interior.

Paint got ruined from buffing wheel and from a drop on ceramic tile flooring. Long story short, it was human error one after another. So I'm pretty cheesed.

Not a major mod really, but I just want an opinion.

Wing or no wing?

No wing, that way you can make it your own. :)

I don't see anything wrong with it. Looks good to me; awesome Impala. :)

Who makes the casting?

What's up with the windows?

I hid it as well as I could in the photos, though it's not completely concealed (the truth can be uncovered here). The bottom corners of the front fender on the right side as well as the rear end on the left side got chipped from the fall and the silver trim along the c-pillar of the right window got burned from the buffing wheel.

@Johnny1996, It's a Jada. Specifically the Badge City Heat series, but there are other series that have a plain Impala with no police/fire dept. livery.

@R1600Turbo, Interior piece is whack it keeps dipping on one side. The window sits on it now that I undid the rivet that originially secured it. Thanks for pointing it out though. I just put some glue on the interior ceiling to hold that in place. 👍

@Cano, that dust you see is metal speck from the metal speck clear paint I have. It supposedly adds shimmer to the body, but it doesn't seem to work as well on small scale cars.

Yeah that looks pretty in your face, too big of a metallic flake to work on 1/64.

Also, I'm now stripping almost all of your flat black cars as I type this. I want to kick you for painting the bases and windshields, tough.

It's acrylic paint. If you have the patience, you can probably wipe the windshields clean with rubbing alcohol without destroying the plastic.

Yeah, I'll leave them in alcohol for a while, hopefully that will take the paint out without making the clear plastic go dull nor destroying the chrome on the bases. Still, screw you.

I did something else. I left one of them in alcohol for a couple hours and then took it away with my fingernails and a toothpick. So I'll do that in the rest of them. At least in the bumpers/grilles. everything else is getting painted black or chrome again but I wanted to keep legit chrome in the visible areas as much as possible.

So iv'e been a fan of the Kanjo racing civics for a long time, So After acquiring 10 Honda ef's 9 for custom, 1 for card, i plan to do alot of Kanjo racing versions and some other famous versions, this is my latest creation.

I used some decals from some tamiya model kits(had extras) they are very high quality....but a nightmare to put on.
Good oldschool kanjo racing like decals. i wanted the front to look weathered aswell, as this is no show room car. and the little shakotan touch on the headlight add to the Outlaw theme to look raced and beat to hell but simple. Car has one purpose, to piss off osakas finest.

the side was detailed, and added a Window net, just to get across what this vehicle is for, the wheels are from the Civic boulevard, painted with Tamiya silver. i purposely made them look scuffed to show battle scars. ignore the nismo decal..
The inside is fully detailed, will add a small gauge cluster decal behind the wheel, wheel was painted to look like a old school mugen SS1 wheel. i will add a roll cage and other decals in the interior.

Another side shot. scuffed paint and paint chips galore, and weathered trim.

the rear end, i plan a outlaw japanese plate, and tow hook, the underbody is detailed with a progress sway bar kit. also little details like built up soot around the exhaust. and cracked/weathered decals. also them slicks.

i love this car.

My inspiration

This is pretty freakin' sweet. Love that you stuck in the mesh too!

But no. Nismo decal cannot be unseen thanks to you pointing it out.
Thanks man, i'm liking how this is turning out, my ultimate goal is to have about 5 Kanjo runners, the next will take longer because i'm going for a paint job, like this. i don't know if i should, remove the paint with some paint removal, primer, and paint it.... or just cheap out and respray the body..

Also that nismo decal, just poking alittle fun.

update on the first EF,

interior rear is removed painted in silver, roll cage is in, Osaka JDM decal is on the dash board, tow hook proceeded to get stuck in my nail, pretty painful.

Is Sculpey even made for metal?

Grab acetone and remove the stock tampos, and then get some Tamiya Masking Tape to do the white and gold.

I used some cya glue if it popped off. After I have part shaped, I put thin coat of thin cya and it really strengthens it up.
