That is precisely what I had in mind. ;) Gimp uses a weird kind of ruler I have never seen before and I need to figure out how to change it to one I can understand more easily.

If it works like Photoshop, you can right click on the ruler itself and it would show a bunch of options. Use millimeters... or centimeters if it makes it easier.

Started working on a few cars today, managed to get the sun roof on the EF Civic filled in and got the Danny George Miata stripped of it's paint. But through the day I got more and more sick and just ran out of energy. My plans of working on my car tomorrow might not happen now due to the sickness, so I'm going to try and at least get the Civic primed, and the DG Miata painted. Also got a MBX BMW 1M wheel swap I need to button up.

Funny, I know this is not the topic, but I like Daft Punk too. And for the record, the song posted here is not Daft Punk.
It's an unreleased track. And for the record, why would Giorgio Moroder introduce it as "The new single from Daft Punk" if it wasn't real
Feel free to message me or post in the daft punk fans? Thread if you want to continue this conversation. Just not here

Now working on a detail job on a Silverado that has fail written all over it more than the I Should be Admin thread.

The impossible has been achieved!

I did a little research and on Gimp there is a little drop down arrow that lets you change to whatever you want. Mine was set on pixels and I changed it to inches since that is what I like. If I need to get extremely precise, I will put it on one of those measurements if I have to. The Hamada by far is the most detailed and probably the most difficult project I have done yet, no telling what I will have to do. Thanks again for the info AOS-! :)👍

What should I do about getting the front bumper yellow? Not sure what to do at this point in time.

Got my Silverado finished, but my 🤬 cell phone carrier blocked GTP, so I can't post at all from mobile. :banghead:

To make it worse, it was perfectly okay yesterday.

They blocked GTP? Any reason in particular...?

Run your yellow spray paint across the bumper after laying down the blue. You won't want to mask anything off for this, but you obviously do not want to overspray the yellow. What I would think of doing is to use the edge of the spray radius the spray can makes to get the spotty fade. This would be significantly easier if you have an airbrush.

I probably should consider getting one, need to check Hobby Lobby and see how much they are. I think I am going to print the decals out first that way I know what color yellow to get for it. As I said before I do not expect it to be perfect but I don't want it to look extremely inconsistent ether. I want to make sure I have a yellow that matches the decals as close as possible.

However I face yet another roadblock, the yellow ink in my families printer is about half gone and I think I am going to wait until my mother buys a new ink cartridge before I continue, since it may turn out dull with low ink levels and this happens to be brightly themed car. Anyway, thanks again for info! 👍

If you don't already have an air compressor, buying one now may be a risky investment. It's a lot of money just to paint one car, and you don't know if you will love doing this yet.

I am fortunate that dad already has an air compressor so I just bought a cheap $30 airbrush to try out a new toy.

Ah, you're really fortunate indeed. I'll tell the tale. You all already know that Ahmed and his dad own a body and paint shop and that is where all the little car paiting takes place, but some times, specially on saturdays, the shop is still being used by the workers there well into the evening, so we just can't walk in with out little cars and shoo 'em off.

So Ahmed bought a smaller, portable air cormpressor he keeps at home so he can paint there, or at least getting stuff done like paitintg interiors, priming, white basing, before going to the shop and laying the colors there -since all of the paints, and other stuff is in there. The thing was about $100 bucks and moves 125 psi iirc, just right for paiting miniatures with a paint gun. I'm actually thinking about going that route, would seriously be considering it if I had space to actually do it.

While cleaning out my room to make more storage space for my customs, I pulled out a box of beyblades all ruined with markers and correction fluid I've done about 12-13 years ago. Shows I'm still a nut for modding stuff until now because I set two aside to make all pretty while the rest get tossed.

That literally sucks. Have you tried getting in touch with them?
Well, now the sites aren't blocked as I'm on mobile now. :odd:

Now they look like proper supercars. Nice job! :)👍
