I like consistent language when copycats of actual wheel designs gets mixed with generic-looking original designs... The nerd in me demands consistency for reasons like this.

Now that I think about it, I hadn't shown you the only update in weeks because busy. This post also marks a new addition to the Custom Diecast México Family:

Needs smaller carbon fiber for the hood. I bought a carbon fiber decal sheet months ago and haven't used any of it yet. Much closer to scale.

Actually not too keen on how much black there is in ratio to the yellow.

But what's more to like than the CF is the headlights.

Yeah, I told the guys I'd give them the CF pattern I've used, but that's for water-decal paper and they haven't got their hands on some of dat yet.

And yes, the way they always hand-detail the head and tail-lamps caught our attention immediatley. You'll see more of that soon.

how tricky were those lights^? pipes and interior are spot on too! door panel perfection!

btw I managed to get a piece of dab tube around the jada axle (cheers cano) after i filed a bit too heavy on the back end, it needed packing but no glue, rolls perfect now

next: going to attempt some volks style bumpers and scribe a soft top area of the roof to be finished off in matt

Glad the plastic tube worked! And yeah they roll freely, my Nova had to roll because it was going to be an entry in the convention.

That VW is looking sick. I might have to steal the idea sometime.

cheers man. im here to share ideas so its not theft ;)

for some reason i want all my customs to roll smoothly, they will eventually just sit there but i dunno are you guys the same? lots of larger scale plastic non rolling models but it just doesn't seem right with 1:64

Being able to roll is an extra challenge worth pursuing should you fancy the rewarding feeling and the art of mastering a craft. One of my best works don't have rolling wheels because the super glue I laid down to fasten the axle to the base all the way up to the wheels and got them stuck.

I've learned from that mistake now.

I usually try to make them roll smoothly so I can later enter them in the contests. Specially because the club we belong to enforces that rule as well, so we always try to make them rollers. Good rollers at that.

Loving the customs @Mad_Mazax. And the detail on that s2000 at Custom Diecast Mexico is amazing.

This is probably a stupid question, but I plan on making a replica of this 1971 Mustang.

Anyways, how can I make decals to replicate the stripes on this car, and make them look as good as Hot Wheels tampos?

You draw it on an image-editing program like GIMP, Paintshop Pro, or Photoshop and print it out on decal paper.

Or you paint it with the help of masking tape.

After some time spent thinking about my life situation, I'm pausing customs for a while. I will however get this done as this holds higher priority:

not sure if this is completely appropriate but...these will mostly become parts of builds eventually, for now they are just my latest market finds, hope thats ok here:

...(Japanese)chips motorbike, more 40's theme cars, couple of drag cars, couple of old bugs (one really cool all metal casting) 71 model woosh and push (one of my original old models). the others all had cards before i couldn't myself...jaded, scorching scooter and that pick-up five pack -14 aus dollars all up...and that classic landrover for a dollar shrug,

I have another custom to show you, this time its a detailing job. Base car: '83 Chevy Silverado.

The stock truck needed some definition. I filled in the lights, painted the tank, and painted the fuel cell. Some things can't be easily seen are the axle ends repainted to blend in with the wheels and the metallic gold wheel lip in place of the chrome gold.

Notice in this picture the detailed harnesses, which were painted in Chevy Engine Red since the orange I would have used was too much of a Salmon color. A fire extinguisher in the interior piece was also detailed.
