My "Devil Z" so far

Recent work:

I'm taking the Cobra Daytonas out of my collection, except this one. I like that turquoise too much.

OH5 wheels weren't any good, so I grabbed one of the recent Star Trek Retros and threw them on. Didn't even bother to fit the front wheels any better. It literally was a quick mod to make the mainline look a little nicer.

Naturally, a plain wheelswap is no longer enough. Lights were done in. Fuel cap was done in. Vents too.

I've two more to show off later, but here's one I'm almost done:

About ready to sell my Civic collection, but I ain't giving up the Hip Hop one.

It is sadly. I'm even getting rid of the Garage series one too.

I've yet to find a 1:64 of the Daytona I like. Maybe the Shelby Collectibles.

I didn't know just how awful it really looked. I only shop on eBay, and all I usually find are photos of them in their blister!

I'd have jumped on the the Kyosho, but even those look a little off.

That's mighty expensive, but I imagine I'll end up getting a non 1:64 Daytona one day.

I didn't reveal it to the world yet, but I did recently get my hands on a 1:18 Kyosho Cobra 427. :D

Awesome. pics!

That's a Dremel, probably not the best thing to use. Wal-Mart has a nice Black & Decker variable speed drill for something like $20. That's what I use.
I may consider getting it but I think I will try that bit you mentioned in that tutorial and see how well that goes.

I have one of those defenders in the works as well... altough all I've done to it is strip it off  the XJ220 came out pretty smooth.

On XJ220s, I have two from my childhood, severelu abused, that I've been wanting to have a go at. One as a race car, but the other as a stock version, for shich I'd like to try to emulate the fascinating slotted pizza-plate style wheels the real car came with. I've been pondering how to do it. I have a few Ultra Hot wheels lying around that could potentially serve as basis, but at the same time I'd like rubber tires. I was thinking tampoing these:

Suggestions?

You may trick a few, but laying down decal to create the illusion of spokes won't convince everyone.

The wheels themselves look like a gear, though I'm unsure if you could ever find a gear with 7 teeth like it.

If you're adamant about making its wheels, you could craft a mold and make resin castings.

thanks man. one of my favorite model :D
You put rubbers round the rims on the red evo?
nope. it's on stock wheels. the car got burnt severely. thus the condition of it's wheel.

EDIT: I'm addicted to Silver :3

I don't know what you could do about the wheels but what kind of race car design do you want?

Auto World Licensed Premium '67 Mustang. There are some major differences in the premium cars I found. Metal base for one, but the axles are put through holes in the base and the wheels pressed on. I had to carefully pry a wheel off the axle to get them out of the metal base. The basic cars with plastic base just have some plastic tabs bent over to hold the axle in. (like Hot Wheels)

You monster. ;~;

:P
