VERY nice. Great save!

Thanks a lot, used some Mattel Cars wheels on the Audi, they are too big for Hot Wheels, but on these slightly gibber Majorette castings (as well as other slightly bigger models, think Superfast-era Matchbox) the fit like a glove and look great 👍

And that Brat avobe is absolutely awesome. That's the HW model, right?

Pull back cars have some awesome rubber tires. It is a shame that here in Mexico the vast majority of pull back cars are much bigger than the 1:64 scale needed, but even with those difficulties I have managed to find some pull back wellys in flea markets and toy stores in the city's downtown. I want to level up my skills before I use them in some of my cars, though.

MarineFM, are you going to add a Screaming Chicken to the hood of your Trans Am? As I mentioned in an earlier thread, I am in the process of doing a very similar, if not identical casting (your door alignment is much better). I am going to try and come up with a decal and then clear coat.

Yes, Welly and a brand that's called RZM have been putting out great pull back cars with great wheels that aren't expensive (about 30, 40 pesos), are readily available in tianguis, and swap very well, the only problem with them is that they are not free-wheeling axles like a Hot Wheels' but they are solid tube, which means you need a "tunnel" to insert the tube they come with into. A cotton swab tube's cut to fit works well for this but it might have play depending on the girth of the axle tube, so watch for that so your car rolls welll when you're done. They need a lot of extra work in the chassis but the effort is worth it 👍

It's my intention, but I admit it will probably be the final step in the process. I have build scale replicas of planes and cars since I was seven, thus I know my way around tampos and decals, but a friend of mine who works in industrial design wants to get in on the action and is suggesting everything from mini-stencils to just plain'ol paint, so I guess we'll test some options.

But yes, there will definitely be a Screamin' Chicken on the hood. Wouldn't be a Firebird without it XD

So I take it you know well what it takes to do custom tampos and that kind of stuff? Also, that friend of yours, could he pottentially print out some clear-background white tampos? Just asking (:

I'm assuming so. I haven't taken a good look at a single BRAT casting to confirm this.

I have never seen the HW casting before so I don't know either. I guess that'll change soon enough when it hits the mainline.

Is that where it went? Yeah it was from the Viper. Took it off so long ago, but never found a car to throw the on.

Lol yeah, I have it. As you might remember, I posted a while ago that I was erasing tampos off of several cars. I've been doing so for the past three weeks or so and the Viper was one of them. Planning to do something with it to justify the front splitter and cannards and stuff, but first, of course, blue stripes!

Now that you know you're not alone, join the fun (:
I've thought about it but my few attempts have been horrible. At least is seems cheaper than customizing and building 1/24s. I have no idea where to start, any good sites with tips and links to where to buy?

The first post of this thread is a pretty good starting point to know what to get and what to do with it. There is a lot of stuff you can do, if you really want to delve into it, ask away, that's what we're here for.

For example, you first of all need a drill or rototool with the adecuate bit size, which is in the first post. Where to buy? Dude, you're in PR

Cano! I'm sorry for not replying here before, but I have been busy and besides my dad is staying in my house during his vacations, which is very time consuming on its own x.x

Anyway, I haven't made custom tampos yet, but I'll try them as soon as I get the hang of painting the cars, which I suppose will come right after I finish learning how to disarm and put together the cars again xD

Luckily, I'm kind of a fast learner. Here's a quick test of new tires for a Pontiac Firebird made by matchbox. The Trans Am is sitting right in the back, and I hope to start doing paint tests this weekend.
