They're off of this, and just called Real Riders 8 Spoke.

This is what it looks like so far before I go at it with a matte clear spray.

Not bad imo... the attention remains on the car with everything blending in with the backdrop. Might need to reinforce this by lowering the aperature with a macro lens.

Didn't he say the $20 included shipping?

I'd say $1 for a wheel-less Boulevard car is worth it. Especially for the metal base.

Even so, 20 bucks for a wheel-less Boulevard and a bunch of mainlines is stil steep, even including shipping. How much can a wheel-less normal car be worth? 50 cents or so?

In any case, wait for the other cars to arrive.

Yeah I'll wait. I mentioned this to the paint guy and he said he's in. Drop me a pic when the other dead cars are available to see what we can work out.

You know, I really shouldn't be doing this got dammit. Just yesterday I re-found a box full of resto projects that I didn't even rememebr I had. Several cool cars there, including a couple redlines. And here I am trying to get several more cars to work on. and I haven't touched any of my projects in months. Why do I do this?

I was charging you 3 basics for $1.... that's pretty fair, is it not? It's a helluva steal if you wanted to do projects on them (which you wouldn't need their wheels for and also applies to the Boulevards). If you wanted their wheels, then you've completely forgotten why I'm selling them in the first place.

People normally seek the wheels of a certain model, but this is the opposite; seeking the bodies to swap new wheels into. In other words, if there is a casting you wanted to change up; paint bodies and/or swap wheels, then I'm the one you seek. I've got several casts I want, but only that; wheels would definitely be swapped for something else.

I don't know what you guys think, but I think that those wheels look good on just about anything.
They match better on the TR6, but fit better on the CR-X.

And then a little quickie I did this afternoon.
This is what it looked like before.

And after.

Why don't you make them yourself? Super easy.

I know I could but I dont have the tool for removing rivets and I dont know how to remove the old axles and put in now ones?

What tool do I need and how do I do the axles?

Been covered many times before, but the OP tells you the drill bits you need and most cars that have a plastic base you can just snip off the little prongs that hold the axles in. For metal bases, you'll need to grind them off.

Really, where i live, about every other wal mart i go in has it but the one i regularly go to does not.

Just saying I get them at Toys R Us. Take it how you will.

ok but once i remove how should i fasten the new axles on?

It seems anything besides the mainline, hot ones, boulevards, seasonals and them cars that change colors in light are never in my wal mart at all!

Stores will vary in what they decide to carry. Many stores around me recently clearanced off their Boulevard cars and Hot Ones as they won't be selling them anymore. Others still have them.

The Hot Wheels Racing models where I live are about $4.50, so about $90 in total. :P
$100+.....pffff, don't be ridiculous.

$100+ worth of donor purchases. Yikes.

I'm getting to that stage. I mean, look at the donor cars I bought today:

And I got more Studebakers coming in the mail too. :P

Anyway, here's some progress on a few paint jobs:

Surface is unsmooth thanks to the crummy Krylon Fusion. If you wanted to know why I'm using fusion, it's because it was the only black paint I have. I'm going to grab nice paint eventually, but for the time being, should I sand it down and if so, what grit you you recommend?

Dark Cherry Red, shotty photo.

I don't think that sanding it is going to do much good here. You'll never get into all those nooks and crannies with even the smallest piece of sandpaper.
You'd be better off stripping it and starting over. Besides, the paint looks too uneven to sand it; you'll end up sanding it down to the metal.
