I had the large rear wheels, but they wouldn't fit right. So I had to sacrifice another car so I could have the same size front and rear. :P

The car will be getting a full detail and metal exhaust pipes then it'll be finished. No need to touch the paint. đź‘Ť

Looks better for it (imo) and well worth the sacrifice, though i guess i am biased seeing as i'm doing a similar thing with the 'Z'. :P

Agree, paint looks real good as is.

OP updated. Anyone think of anything we can add?

I'd like for most of the tutorials to come from us if possible.

Edit: I'll snap pics for a rivet drilling tutorial tonight. I also have my rivet tap set waiting for me at my apartment office. May do something for that too.

Small little update on the 'Z' and 'RWB'.

The reshaped fender on the Z looks great. Miles better than the original. Also, what is that apperture in the Porsche for?

And R1600, what version is that Camaro? I really REALLY like how it looks. 2013 car?

Cheers Cano đź‘Ť, it's still got a way to go though, along with some trial and error.

The aperture on the 993 is an attempt to replicate this:

(^Not my pic BTW)

There's actually about 4 or 5 versions of the 'RWB' 993 bodykit that iv'e seen on the webz, but i'm leaning towards the smooth fendered one seen in the pic above, having said that, i may even merge the smooth style one with the wider riveted arch version.

Yeah 2013 car. Only found in multi-packs at the moment.

Think it's the '70 Camaro Road Race.

Cool. Will have to pick up one to wheelswap too, it's awesome.

Aaaah I see. Awesome.

When I crimp my wheels, sometimes I end up squeezing the wheels up against the tube preventing the wheels from turning. Your tutorial doesn't explain how to avoid this nor does it bring it up anywhere. Maybe that could be included somewhere, like a side note or something.

Next tutorials to make: adjusting ride height. Aww yeah.... :sly:

Right now I'm waiting on installing a set of rear wheels that are a size too big for the F-100 in the back, not only did I have to cut off the wheel wells, I'm also going to have to lower it, as well as the front. I'm going to attempt having a slammed car at the end.

Just don't stick the axle in all the way before you crimp, duh. :P

Edit: Added.

And just so everyone knows, that Camaro is a bad example with those wheels for that tutorial. In it's finished state, it actually required a ton of modifications to the chassis to make them fit properly.

Man, I need to get to workin' on my cars.
DiRT3, GT4 Complete Edition and NFS Pro Street have taken me away from my cars. :yuck:

I would really like to thank this thread. I have been wanting to paint scale cars for a while but I could never find a brush small enough. Although I am not to the point of painting hot wheels, I did detail a scale car of mine. It is a Mega Bloks Porsche 911 GT3RS. I have added carbon fiber vinyl and detailed the brake calipers (they used to be an ugly yellow). I am having trouble posting pics, they are flipping going from my camera roll to photobucket and apparently flipping back when posted on here.

So on that black Camaro, anyone think I should find some of the white circles w/numbers for the doors/hood?

Edit: wrapture your pics are upside down. Also, that is a lego car, which should go in the lego thread. Not in this one. đź‘Ť

As usually happens, lol. I can't remember the last clean wheelswap I did.

Yeah while you just posted I was making some corrections to my How-to. Moved some steps around to make it a bit more clear.

Sooo, people...

Bear in mind several things:

These were done on a test mold, so they have a few fleabits; they are solid resin, no separated wheel-tire here because, again, it was a test for the mold; they were also heavily manipulated before they completely dried so that explains the grainy look on them, aaaand we still haven't come up with a way to make them with the axle hole.

Still, this has a lot of potential... we just need free time to develop them, which we are severely lacking right now...

Those wheels are still looking very good though and I can't wait until you get them perfected. đź‘Ť

Anywho, here's what I've been up to this evening:

Body-swapping my two Torinos

8146633441_0aed9694df_z.jpg

Just some different wheels to see if they look better.

And these here are what will shortly be going under the drill...

Oh yes, I'm working on a small evening custom now that should be done tonight given the gloss white paint doesn't keep coming out looking all porous with tiny bubbles. I sanded it smooth and resprayed, but it made it a little worse. I'm making the car two-tone, so it's not like I can strip it and start over. Help!

If anything, that Ford may be the one I won't take apart. It is just so clean and not ruined with tampos. Then again, Hot Wheels did a pretty good job with the tampos in this series.

Do you want that 40 Ford or any one in general?

Okay so here's an update on my donor cars up for sale or trade. Please take at least 6 cars if you want any.

If you're wondering what "stealthed" is, it's refering to the Stealth Project custom paintjob series.

Important note, none of these have wheels except for a few.

One more thing, I reserve the right to refuse some Studebakers or any cars if I think of future projects

If you could hold on to the GT-03 and '13 Viper that would be fantastic.
What color is the GT-03?

It's pink with black tribal decals. I'm surprised someone is interested in this casting.

I'd refer you guys to my photobucket album for images but I don't think there's a way to search for a specific image in an album.

Save me the Boulevard 914, the NHRA Morris Wagon, the Nostalgia Ford Ranchero, a yellow Stude pick up, the Stealth Shelby Cobra, the boulevard mustang II concept, a Fast Fish, the stealth 71 Charger, and the steatlh 68 Nova. Those are mine.

Well, this is what I did tonight. Thank goodness the white is so bright that you can't see its numerous imperfections too well.

8147045720_c359ca505c_z.jpg

I decided the ten spokes looked better than the MC5s with black spokes that I also tried.

8147008545_aec3538370_z.jpg

But then I decided to stupidly paint every other spoke flat black so the wheels would look more like the stock 458 wheels.
I guess I should have kept the OH5SPs that came on it then.

8147006613_78ae843e47_z.jpg

A bit better shot so you can see the detail.

Now for interior shots. :)
8147051316_52d1a08772_z.jpg

Luckily I had a little jar of flat tan or I wouldn't have been able to paint the interior.

8147013715_2d0e55de11_z.jpg

Le engine.

8147047384_b2da340edc_z.jpg

And the dash. I think I put more detail into these cars than what is even possible sometimes.
I try to make it work and then it ends up looking like this garbage.

cool detailing! I know for fact that pictures make everything look worse than it is at this scale, in real life that must look killer.

White roof is tacky and unfitting for a Ferrari but the engine detailing is nice! And  at the new "OH10" wheels; looks just like aftermakrter wheels now. I'm glad you shared this mistake so I won't make it now.
