I haven't started this project, but I do have the parts ready.

I was admiring my '64 Chevelle SS (boring to look at), but I noticed the engine sticking out and thought, what if I installed a bigger engine inside? *slowly grinning while nodding*

I'm taking apart the engine of the Bone Shaker and shoving that in there along with the exhaust pipes which will obviously be poking out from underneath. This will require me to cut into the chassis plate.

Big thick tires are going on and will repaint the body despite how perfectly acceptable the red already is.

... like my Fish&Chip.
Do you want Salsa with that?

I would take those and customize them actually. They'll fit perfectly under 2 series I have underway. Are they yours?

@ R1600.
I'm diggin that red you're using, is it Cadmium red? (would look perfect on my Z, though i'm hoping my Mica red will still come out looking okay), excellent choice for your RX7. 👍

@ AOS & SVX.
Loving both of your new avatars. 👍 👍

Why yes they are!:) The 2 orange ones and that one red one i got from Kit Kringle about 2 or 3 years back. As for the yellow Final Run, i got that from my little cousin like 3 or 4 years ago. Believe it or not it had been sitting in my aunts basement for 10 years and never been opened! My little cousin said i could have it, so i took it!:D

Nothing like alittle sarcasm! When you said fish'd & Chip'd, i just had to say that! I to am hoping to find more of them and some duplicates to customize as well.:D Your not the only one who wants to customize that car here.;)

Well his paint remover had been left open, so I didn't get to posting last night. Will be getting some tonight. The car its a 2nd gen MR2 hotwheels, we tested done paint and out looked alright. Lets just see if I can hide my brush strokes.

Lamley's Favourite Customs of the Week.

I really like how people go as far as making a blister and card for their customs, but at the same time, is there really even a point of doing that? The thought of making a custom diecast to display is the idea, not package designing, is it not? I doubt that's going in their portfolios and with that, I'm gonig to assume that person is a customizing junkie. The Kenmeri despite all that has been said is baller though.

The Boso RX7 is a neat idea, execution could be better, liked how someone decided to recreate the NFS Trueno. The Aventador is cute, the Chevelle is classic, the blakc DBS is clean, and the Merc beside it got ruined by the FTE wheels.

Nice work by Jason & McZ, and I really like how the Ferrari's pipes got painted, too. 👍

That Kenmeri's unbelievable. Design choice isn't my cup of tea, but none of that matters when it's executed that well.

Agree with most of what you say, although I like the idea of doing the packaging. Why not? Most collectors keep their collections in package, so it seems that makes sense. And yes, the Kenmeri is fantastic. He builds those wheels from scratch, trying to give those tires a good stretch. I much prefer the wheels on the Kenmeri over the hakosuka.

The packaging does create one dilemma, however. He made five sets of the Skylines, and is sending me one. Do I open them? :)

I am enjoying posting stuff from here. Keep 'em coming...

That's a lot of bodies joined together, Mickey Noname!

Though I feel the tail's too long. It's like an ass that's forcefully jetting out. :yuck:

As for the packing topic, jtl, I feel that packaging your own custom work is like reverse-mentality. Why do collectors value the cards so much? Because they seek the collector value that's behind carded cars, no? What collector value is there in a modified toy? None. It's all sentimental value. If one can put so much hard work into modifying a car, they should allow themselves and others to appreciate its beauty from all angles, not just the one half that's visible with the other half covered by the card. I don't see a reason for reversing the steps of the consumer packaging experience and as such, I'm lead to believe people who go to the extent of "creating" their own product like take their hobby a bit too far- an obssession.

I only view it more or less in a negative manner because it's as if they're telling us that they're the ones who made something, yet, it's not entirely their very own creation. That is to say that it's not entirely made from scratch. It's instead modifying existing toys, but not enough to really call it your own "creation". You could argue about arts & crafts but they don't present themselves in the same attitude. My 2 cents on the matter.

Got a cool surprise for you guys. Will upload in a few minutes. Let's just say I saw some parts laying around and threw them together to make something totally bad ass. :mischievous:

Edit: BAM!! (note: EXTREME work in progress. Will get new paint for one...)

That street BB looks great Jason, 👍 the grill delete is awesome. What do you plan for the bonnet/hood, a turbo poking through?

You can see the exhaust and wastegate dump poking out of the hood some. :dopey:

Stole the intercooler from an extra R32 Skyline I had, cut out the grill and glued the intercooler in there. I'm also going to try and find a parachute for the back, but that's not a 'must have'. May also try to change the interior and add a roll cage. This project might take a while. :sly:

Oh, could probably do with a different angled pic, at the moment it looks like it's just a couple of drill attempts. The grill/intercooler treatment is genius. Can't wait to see the finished car. 👍

That is impressive, Jason.

Obligatory question: you gonna put decals on that? If it's a track car, it could totally use a little "something". Other wise, I see a beast road car out of it and therefore should be left in its iron fist black bull persona.

They barely stick out above the hood. I might make them longer, they're just sitting in there right now loosely and they lean toward the right that way.

Might get some decals. I needed to purchase some printer paper over the weekend so I can start decal testing but forgot. :ouch: I still have a few sheets of white backed decal paper I bought a few years ago, hopefully it's still good. If testing goes as planned, then I'll do some decals for this car along with the V8 Supercar Ecoboost livery and another secret project. :dopey:

As far as the paint goes on the BB, I will leave it that color but going to respray it anyway since it's been a long term project and it's been scratched up a little during moving, etc.

I hope new wheels too dude, those are horrid. If there is a car that needs the Watanabes you seem to put even in that NASCAR-style truck it's this car. Yeah played out but hey, they work.

I want to see a pic of the hood.
