I hope new wheels too dude, those are horrid. If there is a car that needs the Watanabes you seem to put even in that NASCAR-style truck it's this car. Yeah played out but hey, they work.

I want to see a pic of the hood.

It's a drag car. Wheels stay. (front axle end will be painted black to blend with the wheel)

Hello all, just wanted to share a few subtle details i did on some models

First up, Wide Body RX7

But those don't look like drag wheels at all, in neither end o_O at least not like the kind of wheels you'd put in a high end drag car with the wastegate poking outta the hood. Who puts steelies on the rear slicks? Those are geneeeeeric, it doesn't look like a drag car at all. It just looks... er, like it's there.

If the project is a long term, try grabbing one of those Maisto muscle cars that came out a few years ago, they had some excelent reproductions of Weld Draglites in proper big-little front and rear sizes. You'll have to modify the chassis for the rears to fit but it will be so worth it. You could also source some Centerlines off a JL, but finding a set surrounded by slicks could prove hard.

Umm, lots of people? You should come to America some time and attend a Friday Night drag racing event. You'd be surprised how many people use cheap wheels/steelies as their wheel of choice for their slicks.

It's not meant to be an all out, unlimited budget drag car. I want the flat black, steelies & crude construction to make it stick out like a home built beast from someone's garage.

Wheels stay. :)

Well, there's one set of wheels I can use for the front I might try. The steelies on the back are the smallest ones available, with the smallest drag slicks I had. If fact I had so stretch them to fit over the wheels. Tight fit.

Well, I finally managed to get my first successful customs finished today.:)

Had 2 old Dairy Delivery's I decided to customize, both were in rough condition so I decided to give them a makeover.:)

Here is an old Dairy Delivery my dad custom painted back when it came out. Due to bad storage methods years back, this thing has been scuffed up pretty badly for quite a while now and is missing its windshield.

This is just another old Dairy Delivery i have had for a long tme. Bad storage methods also damaged this one and it's badly scratched wheels.

I felt like these two needed something more, soooo....

Went through and stripped the paint, premiered it, and gave them both a new coat of paint. Here is the black one receiving its new coat of paint.

The other one was painted burgundy. However, I neglected to get a picture of it when it was being painted.:ouch:

Once that was done, added some detailing to the front on both of them.

Added some killer detailing to the interior and taillights as well.

Then I added clearcoat to the bodies, put a new set of wheels on the burgundy one and a new windshield on the black one, then reassembled them back together and I was finished!:)

Now I present to you.....

The Double Dairy Duo

Thank you!:) I myself am very happy with the interior detailing.:) I didn't know it had it ether, to be honest it's actually shaped like a milk bottle which makes sense since it is a Dairy Delivery.:dopey:  Another thing i didn't know is that it actually has a milk bottle on the base at the mufflers as well.;)

Congratulations on your first custom/restore. Excellent work I must say. :D:tup:

Hot Wheels easter eggs FTW!
There's a skull and a bone in the back of the Fangula. I found that a while ago, but don't think I told anybody.

Nice job on the Dairy Twins Sony, they look like they're ready for the 1/4. :)👍

And I believe they have nitrous bottles, gotta get some extra HP to hang out with the big boys :mischievous:👍.

I'm painting parts. The Camaro base, the Challenger's interior and it's top are flat black. The Formula 400's interior is now a metallic blue that needs a coat of matte clear.

The cars are all tampoed up and almost ready to be assembled. The Chaparral Camaro came out way, waaaaaaaaaaaaay better than I though it would, even with a few problems that arised with the tampos because noobness.

The meet is this saturday. I'll be taking 7 cars to the contest if I finish in time.

Hmm, front air dam delete anyone?
Most definitely. 👍

@ Cano.
When are you gonna show some pics of the Muscle cars you've been working on?
Really looking forward to the Chapparral. 👍

@ Sonygamer. Great first custom, 👍 although i'm not keen on the Dairy Delivery as a diecast.

Really looking forward to the Chapparral. 👍

After I'm done. I have today's afternoon after finishing some work, and friday's afternoon, to finish detailing and assembling 5 cars. I'm trying to make progress in every bit of spare time I have, but I'm still a long way to go.

I'll tell you that the Chaparral presented some problems regarding the tampos when they were cleared, but they were because of noobness, it's the first time I have applied such a complex livery. You'll see when I show you. Sadly, I do not have the time to correct them and the car will participate in the contest as-is.

But I think I can call it a success because the tampos came out looking absolutely fantastic and the front part of the chassis I had to custom fabricate in order to be able to use a transparent "plexiglass" front spoiler looks pretty good for what it is. i'm building another one for sure to correct the issues that this one has, but for a first time, I'm pretty satisfied. You'll see.

Careful cutting with the dremel & cutoff wheel. Then I finished it off and smoothed it out with a set of jewelers metal files. That section of the car is actually really thick.

Except the cutting disks I have are much larger in diameter than that opening so I'm just curious how to gone about in there.

I had to cut off the front rivet post but the car holds together just fine with only the rear one screwed in. Carefully cut in from the back side. Can be done if you're careful.

Forgot to mention I also brought the car to work and used the belt sander to thin out the front splitter.

Other way that does not involve cutting disks, but might be a bit more risky: use the drill bit with which you open the cars to blow two or three consecutive holes in the space to be cut away, it's always better to create a path for the bit to travel, of course, then just file away the remaining material by hand or with another Dremel bit. I did that with the hole in the hood of the Maverick:

Cool Maverick Cano. 👍
Another way would be to drill a hole, and use a jewelers saw (i intend on getting one soon).

Thank you!:) I am proud of how it turned out. I will have more great customs in the future.;)

Wow i didn't know that! When i was customizing them Dairy Deliveries, i noticed it had a milk jug on the base underneath the mufflers.
Those came out pretty good. And I second the nitrous bottle motion!
Thank you Cano!:) I got even better ones on the way right way.;)

Yea i do agree with ya'll. I think those are nitrous bottles shaped like milk jugs in the interior.;)

Thank you Vspec!:) I to had the same thing in mind as well, i do think they are good drag vehicles.;) Nitrous bottles certainly makes a difference.;)
Nice job on the Dairy Deliveries, guy. Paint looks smooth and the detailing is clean. I'm hella impressed. 👍
Thank you AOS-!:) I am impressed on how the paint turned out as well as the details.:D Hope my other customs in progress turn out just as good.:) By the way my real name is Dillon.;)

Hadn't you seen it? o_O
Now you mention it, i think i do remember seeing it (you do so many customs/resto's, i tend to forget).

PS. Regarding jewelers files: Although i don't use a Dremel, diamond coated jewelers files are really nice/satisfying to use, even if they do take ages to do something that a Dremel would do in seconds.
