52.1 nice time man. Thats a stretch for me but i'm gonna try and match it.

Did either of you try the tune I posted?

Thanks.. There is more in it for sure as I am not used to the grip available on the soft tyre.. We both ran with your tune.. I set that time using your susp and diff settings.. I tuned my box for 185mph and ran full aero and BB of 5/5

Yes, that was the tune we ran, I think Dan set the gears up with your rough outline, though I'm not 100% as I just used his (Thanks :D).

I didn't attempt to change much with the tune as I was still doing my best to learn the car and combo. To be honest it feels pretty solid anyway and I doubt much could be done to improve it drastically.

I also used 5/5 BB (too lazy to change it) and ran 40/60 Aero.

Roskolove,I tried your setup at eifel and it felt much better then last time.there is very low udersteer and the oversteer is hardly unoticeable.maybe I'm not driving the car hard enough

Edit:yeah I wasn't driving hard because there is oversteer in this car with that setup

Full aero? When I run full aero I feel like someone took out the slip part of the differential and its just a single piece straight axel. I can't for the life of me get the car to rotate with full aero.

Is that possibly because i'm on a DS3?

Did you do it with 493 HP, with tire wear ON and grip set to REAL with skid recovery force turned OFF?

I only use 701 hp and no aids and full areo

I did 2:01.030 with 493 hp and tire wear on and grip set to real and racing hards

Only 701hp?

Lol its safe to say that does not count, we are running the same lap times with 200 less hp than you.

700 hp should be able to get you into the high 49's

Yeah.. 40/60 aero like you said when you posted the settings.

I just did a few laps and this is the most arcadish thing i've done in GT5. I am not willing to waste any more time in this, but i look forward to meeting you on the track the next time you're online, so we can have a few races with real specs.

My time after 5-6 laps was 1 51.3xx. No video, if you're in doubt open a room and i'll insta-join and provide some proof.

5-6 laps and a 1'51.3

!!!!

Of course you have no proof.

What is your psn (proper name?)

I'm too drunk and my wheel isn't setup

Plus my dog ate my PS3 cords and errr.. the cat chewed on something.. and... um...

Seriously though, ask Stotty or Hyper 👍 If they witness it I'll eat humble pie 👍

Pastor, don't be offended by Dion calling you out... anyone who comes on here with only a few posts and claims laps times faster than known very quick drivers (Dan and Dion are both Division 1 Gold standard drivers) is gonna get that.

Simplest way to shut him up is to save your replay and post it here.

I won't bother with the on line challenge thanks Dion... the car is rubbish to drive on race softs, as is just about every other car in the game :D

Edit: just to clarify, my time was set off line.

Indeed, sorry mate.

Did you set your time online in a lobby?? or offline in practice?

Just to clarify too, my time was set online. Since everyone seems to be division 1 gold over here and apparently too quick to be over 1 second slower than an amateur like me, i'll just get over the fact this thing is ridiculously arcady on soft tires and put an effort to get the 1'50.x, then provide you an online race replay.

I just ran 11 laps on line to see how much difference there is... 1:51.5.

There's slightly less front end grip on line vs off, which I might be able to tune out with some more time, but I doubt I'd be able to get the car in to the 50's.

I'm not in the league of Dan Holland/Ramon/Amo/Yinato etc, but I can hold my own in the top 50 of the seasonal TT's and sometimes get as high as the teens if I really try. So if you can run 51.3, you're very fast... particularly if you can hit that time in just 5-6 laps. You should easily be fast enough to get yourself in the top 10 of any seasonal TT... what's your PSN? I'll keep an eye out for you on the leaderboards.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Edit: 6 laps with SRF enabled, on line... 1:50.5... reckon 49's would be doable with a tune specifically built with SRF in mind

You guys are doing this with grip set to real and tire wear ON correct? I'm new to regular circuits but I didn't really expect people to do any better than high 51's. I can usually keep up with anyone I am surprised i'm this far behind, so I just want to make sure you guys have the room settings correct.

I had tyre/fuel wear at normal, grip set to real, slipstream set to weak and no aids other that ABS @ 1.

I knew you and Dion wouldn't overlook such things after the last thread, but I feel 1:51.3's is exactly where I would be with grip on normal and tire wear off..

Just want to make sure settings are right for the guy that only ran 6 laps with tire wear on and still posted a low 1:51... As we all know, things like this matter at this level.

I could be completely wrong as I only spent around 15-20 minutes on the hot lap also, but I am a second down it seams.

Exactly.. I think the only way is to add him on psn and watch him run it live, when you can check the room settings.

Can someone upload stotty's replay to youtube? Like I said I won't have access to a PS3 for a few weeks and would love to see where I am losing over a second.

I understand that but I view things a little differently. Lets say he had the room settings correct, and he still ran that time. Even if it was offline thats not what got him the extra 7-8 tenths of a second. He said he still ran a 51.5 online.

For instance running off track at the Nurburgring with an estimated gained time of 3 tenths, doesn't make up for 3+ seconds difference at the end. So even considering the online/offline difference or whatever else people think invalidates a lap, it still means he is going faster. I want to see how.

I think with a bit more time I could take a half a second off, but he is over a second faster then my time.

I will take the opportunity to learn from anything.
