How many times have you moved?

I think I've moved a total of four or five times, I can only remember only 2 of those times of my family moving.

I have two months before I move out, and this time, it's going to be on my own. I'll be going to a new (kind-of familiar) state. Bigger city, more expensive stuff, healthier people, less fast food, and I barely know anyone there apart from a friend and some other members of my family.

That place is the Bay Area of CA. It's gonna be interesting, I'm glad I'm at-least pretty familiar with the place.

No exaggeration, my family moved over 50 times between the time I was born up to the time I turned 17 when I moved out. There were a few times we moved 3-4 times per school year. I have been to at least 30+ states. Very complicated childhood. I cant stand moving. However, after I bought my house, I have lived here for 13+ years and been at the same company 14 years. :)

If I ever move again it will 100% for sure be south to a warmer climate. I still hate the cold.

That's crazy. I know it had to be miserable.

Why?

Father was in the Army, step father was a truck driver, my parents could not maintain a stable job, later they divorced and moved to much different states, many times, then they re-married to different people, they got divorced again, which meant moving between father to mother or mother to step father or step mother yada yada. If bills couldn't be paid they just moved. Terrible parenting. My childhood was as absolute nightmare. You honestly don't want to hear all the details and I will never discuss all the details.

Sure was/is. I still remember most of the events that happened. Also try not to remember most of the events that happened. Got to the point I quit trying to make friends because every time I did, we moved and I lost those friends. :guilty: If you are a parent, please do not do this to your kids..

I guess the optimistic way to look at it is I have seen a wide variety of climate changes and scenery. Met about every possible personality in the US. Strangely, I have never been out of the US other than a couple hour visit to Canada when I was about 10.

I went to go look at a place with the people I currently rent from, so I may be adding a 10th move in the near future (the house we/they looked at is rather nice, so I hope it happens).

2 times.

Once to attend a technical-school in Nashville (was 10K cheaper than UTI)
And the second to move into my own house (Homeowner status :D)

As of yesterday, I have moved six times. Although if you count the number of times I had to pack up my room in college, it comes in at about twenty-eight times (our colleges used to subsidise our fees by opening themselves up to external students during mid-semester and mid-year breaks, so we had to pack everything up at the end of each term and put it into storage).

Actually moving, as in the whole family gets up and moves, 5 times. By myself, as in travelling - staying three to four months in a place and then moving - 32 times. I love to travel.

  1. Grand Junction, CO --> Chandler, AZ
  2. Chandler, AZ --------> Gilbert, AZ
  3. Gilbert, AZ ----------> Grand Junction, CO
  4. Grand Junction, CO --> Glendale, AZ
  5. Glendale, AZ --------> San Tan Valley, AZ
  6. San Tan Valley, AZ --> Gilbert, AZ
  7. Gilbert, AZ ----------> Casa Grande, AZ

Oh gosh here I go:
•I was born in Las Vegas (my dad was in the Air Force) 1996-1997
•then we moved to Parkersburg, WV 1998-2008 (Both my parents were from there)
•Then we decided one day to move to Miliken, Colorado (it's near Greeley) 2008-2009
•Then we moved to Montrose, Colorado 2009-2010
•Then we moved back but to Williamstown, WV (same county) 2011-2012
•My parents got divorced (2011) then my mom decided to move to GA but I stayed and went to live live my dad. He bought a house just outside of Parkersburg, WV (actually right next the old one of all things!) so I've lived there since 2012

Let me try to remember:

I moved 3 times in my hometown (Dumont, NJ)
Their was a failed attempt to move to California
Came back in 2010 to New Milford, NJ
Finally moved up here in late 2010 (West Milford, NJ)

I have lived in 7 houses since birth (6 if you don't count the house I first lived in).
