How many times have you moved?

Man, I'm excited and scared to move. Mainly, the only reason why I'm scared is school and doing good in it. This school I'm going to is located basically in Silicone Valley and they're going to much more competitive.

Gonna be some good times though, I'll have access to my favorite city any time of the day.

In 21 years of life I've had to move 7 times. I've changed schools 3 times in elementary and 3 times in high school. A couple years ago a psychologist actually told me that might be the reason why I'm a bit socially awkward. Losing all your friends and having to make new ones all the time is not a good thing.

Once, when I was 6 months old. We moved from my parents apartment above my grandpa to the property I'm at now. In 2000 we tore the old house down and burned it in my fire pit and then had this house come down the road in two halves and then put together. We added onto it in 2005.

Four times, five if you include moving into my college apartment.

Jacksonville, FL -> Chesapeake, VA -> Jacksonville, FL -> Fairfax, VA -> Fairfax, VA (different house) -> Bloomington, IN.

With graduation looming this May, the sixth move isn't far away.

Once or twice, depending on if you count room switching as "moving". We moved away from my birthplace of Kitchener when I was one or two years old and moved to an apartment building in Burnaby that I live in to this day. At some point, we swapped apartments with somebody else, moving from the first to the third floor. We're still in that third floor apartment.

Moving house? Never!

I did move from one room to another though. Does that count?

3 times

Arteaga - Mexicali
Mexicali - Tijuana (On the outskirts)
Then we moved to a bigger house closer to downtown

Never moved from my original home. Left for university life though. Also changed schools in middle school. Changing schools was one of the best things I ever did. If you ever have a want to go somewhere else, and then you're finally able to make it happen, you'll do better no matter what.

Since I was old enough to decide for myself:

Parents house (3 before I was 5, then the same one until...)
Ski Resort in Virginia (3 months)
Parents house (21 months)
Ski resort in BC, Canada (4 months)
Vancouver (4 months)
Toronto (4 Months)
Pub near Cheltenham, England (5 months)
Farm near Knockhill, Scotland (10 months)
Parents house (6 months)
House 1 in Canberra (10 months)
House 2 in Canberra (4 years)
House 3 in Canberra (6 months)
Short term Den Helder (1 month)
Now in Den Helder for 16 months
Will definitely be moving again in June 2016

I would not wish an intercontinental move on my worst enemy.

I can agree with this. I had the opportunity and it paid off tenfold.

Counting only flats/houses I've paid rent to live in, I've stayed in 11 different places - 8 different flats in Glasgow (1992-2014), and 3 different places in London (2002-2008). In addition to that, my parents have moved twice in my lifetime and I've had 3 'permanent' addresses in Edinburgh. So, all in all, 14 different places (13 'moves') in 3 different towns. I also went to live/work in Australia for 6 months when I was 20, and I stayed in various places but I don't consider them as places I've lived, but technically it could also be considered a 'move'. Since leaving home (in '92), I've had at least 39 different flatmates and I've lived alone since 2007...

I think I've moved a total of four or five times, I can only remember only 2 of those times of my family moving.

I have two months before I move out, and this time, it's going to be on my own. I'll be going to a new (kind-of familiar) state. Bigger city, more expensive stuff, healthier people, less fast food, and I barely know anyone there apart from a friend and some other members of my family.

That place is the Bay Area of CA. It's gonna be interesting, I'm glad I'm at-least pretty familiar with the place.

How many times have you moved?
I have moved atleast 2 times. I sorta missed my old apartment despite all the rodents I had at the time. I think I remember having mice, rats, and cockroaches. I felt like I moved for a good cause.

I'll only do my "permanent" moves as my father has moved many times but I didn't live with him. I don't think any of these are more than 50 miles apart either, maybe 75.

Trailer park in Weatherford>>>Mother's parents between towns>>>Mineral Wells #1>>>#2>>>#3>>>First place alone>>>Back to parents>>>Apartments alone>>>Current residence-Cool, TX.

So nine, and moving sucks.

Good luck. My college experience the first time was a gut-check. They said "HS prepares you for life after HS", and to them I reply "Go 🤬 🤬, 🤬!" Then again, it is Texas.

I don't know how many times specifically... But it's in the millions, it has to be. I mean, pretty much everything I do involves moving. Typing this right now, I'm having to move my finger to each key, and each time counts as another movement...

... Wait, I think I missed something...

I didn't find it too taxing. I guess it depends on one's lifestyle and the amount of possessions being taken. I didn't even find the bureaucracy all that bad.

I was born in Ottawa, Canada and then I moved to Massachusetts, USA when I was 2-ish. I'm going to have to move to Kentucky this summer because of my dad's job. :'c

I moved 10 times in 10 years in Colorado, Arizona, and Ohio. I hate moving as you can imagine - moved every year in college, then moved for my job.

9 times. Most recent 5 in the last 10 years. Planning on one more as my next house should be the last move I'll need to make.

We were all hoping you'd stick around a bit longer mate. :(
