How many truly new tracks will there be?

I expect it on every track. If Slightly Mad can manage it on a much smaller budget and a smaller team over a shorter space of time then PD have no excuses.

Or at least on every track where it would be sensible, i.e. rarely rain at Laguna Seca.

Please PD, Please

I would love that. Special Stage Route 5 has always been one of my favorite tracks, and I think a big part of the reason is just because of the atmosphere of racing at night through the city. It would be great to have that on other tracks as well.

Has anyone given a thought to how long it takes to make these tracks and how much time was put into reworking GT6's core functionality, or are we just jumping on the "PD is screwing us over with DLC" train?

Yes we have. They've claimed a track each month in DLC, if they are to manage that then it doesn't take a genius to work out those tracks are already finished, you don't finish a track in one month, as you say yourself it takes a while.

Plus when it comes to the old legacy tracks they have had since 2006 to update those, time is no excuse with those. The people modelling tracks and cars aren't the same people working on "core functionality".

Finally Lucas Ordóñez claimed that we'll be amazed at how many tracks there are in GT6. Either he was talking rubbish or the tracks he thought were going to be in GT6 and amaze us are actually now going to be DLC.

I think Sony/PD have tested the waters enough with the DLC for GT5 to know pretty well what potential DLC has for GT6. If it makes sense from a business perspective, they would be mad passing that opportunity up.

I don't blame them. GT6 looks like it will be an attractive offer on release with a 25% plus in the number of tracks compared to GT5, so I don't feel ripped off by some content being released later.

Maybe it does but in the past people have claimed that Kaz and PD hate DLC, they're the good guys in the DLC world and they wouldn't do anything like what the evil Microsoft have done with the other game, etc etc. They may be eating their words in a few months, even more so than when DLC paint was release.

Forza has 3 games this gen and a fourth ready for the Xbox One's launch. The Shift franchise had two games in 3 1/2 years, and doubled the number of tracks - from 19 to 40 - between the first and second game, and that's with an 18 month development cycle.

GT5 took 5 years to make and had 26 tracks, so that's about 5 tracks/year. While at the same time they were building the entire game from scratch and they even found time to make GT PSP. At that rate GT6 should have 15 new tracks but we're saying we'd be satisfied with 7. That's called bending over backwards to be patient and understanding.

Exactly. 33 locations after a collective eight years in development is not impressive.

In another example Project CARS will launch with at least 40 locations after what will be a total of just over three years dev time. Yes some of them came from their track catalog but the same can be said for many of the GT tracks.

Please read the whole thread. Unless PD gave the wrong numbers that isn't possible.

When you buy latest version of the game it comes with all previous content. I bought GT5 XL and it comes with DLC including SPA, karting tracks. The latest is GT5 2013 edition with comes with all the DLC in the game till date. So when someone buys GT6 it will probably come with all the GT5 content + DLC.

So did you read the thread? Because if this is true then it can't also have 7 totally new tracks or the numbers PD have provided do not add up.

👍 If that's true, it's great news to know that both sides of the 'Ring are returning. :)

I'm not sure how many times it has been said in this thread but ALL tracks are returning from the vanilla GT5. The DLC tracks are up in the air.

This is a hilarious task. Have you ever seen any game which required DLC for the regular career mode? Except F2P games, of course.

So basically what you guys are asking for is to make it for regular players, who don't buy DLC, impossible to finish the career. I'm sorry, but how egoistic is this? Extremely unfair for others.

As long as they stay independant from the regular career mode, it' fine. Nobody should be forced to buy any DLC to achieve 100% progress.

No, that's not what we were talking about. There could be an option for a DLC patch (that comes with the purchase of track DLC) that inserts newer DLC tracks at various places in career mode by replacing other events. The way it is now, many race tracks repeat at an excessive level so the variety wouldn't hurt at all. Perhaps also leave this as a choice for the player whether to patch it and also to give the option to clear the previous results for that event given that the track has changed.

And then there's the option you and others were talking about with additional events for DLC tracks and that would work as well. I suppose maybe even better, but why not go even further and spread those tracks throughout the entire game for a fair balance rather than only a few new events?

Anyway, all this would be irrelevant to people who haven't purchased the DLC and nothing would change in their game. Nobody would be forced to purchase DLC to complete career mode -- it would simply be a feature for people who have purchased DLC.

Here we go again with vague numbers! If they were underwhelming I wish they would just tell us! Honesty
might get you a sale from me even if the content is modest because you didn't jerk me around! Surely DLC from GT5 is included it would defy belief if it wasn't! But then that means what 3 new tracks? Brands Hatch, Silverstone and Barthurst? Well there goes any mystery and suspense of a major aspect of content from GT6 and they havnt even revealed when it's coming out!

Would it be insanely presumptuous of me to hope for a misunderstanding, A language barier preventing clarity. Oh deja vu! What's the definition of insanity again lol!

But not to be too cynical I really want GT to succeed! Just go back to 1999-2005 era of designing games plllleaaasssseeeeee:)
