How many truly new tracks will there be?

Clearly he means career mode. There are no events with any DLC tracks.

There are very, very few seasonals with DLC tracks, which is bad enough on its own, but the fact that the tracks don't even have a place in career mode is ridiculous.

Would be extremely easy to insert some of the DLC tracks into career mode so there aren't 30 repetitive events on tracks like Tsukuba and Cape Ring
This is a hilarious task. Have you ever seen any game which required DLC for the regular career mode? Except F2P games, of course.

So basically what you guys are asking for is to make it for regular players, who don't buy DLC, impossible to finish the career. I'm sorry, but how egoistic is this? Extremely unfair for others.

It's the sad truth about DLC. The A-spec career is something that SHOULD only be completed by the game's release. With pretty much 99% of the tracks available for DLC, the A-spec in GT6 will be very similar to GT5 in regards to driving on the same tracks.

The problem with incorporating new events with DLC is that people who can't afford to buy DLC or play offline won't get a fair share of what the A-spec career is supposed to be like. It's like playing through a story campaign, but you can only get the other half of the story through DLC.

I will be the one that's going to buy every DLC, but I really do feel for the ones that can't buy or connect online.

Also, it doesn't leave much space for new or returning rally tracks, let alone Pikes Peak, meaning there probably won't be a Rally A-spec career. *sigh
👍

There's only solution I see in this topic: Track DLCs would have to include a seperate gamemode, such as the special events, which introduces independant events for DLC tracks. A little how it was the case with the speed test pack aka SSRX. You got a track together with a gamemode.

It's very possible to add new events with DLC. Many gaves have done that, PGR4 and Forza 4 with the Porsche pack spring to mind.

As long as they stay independant from the regular career mode, it' fine. Nobody should be forced to buy any DLC to achieve 100% progress.

Indeed, of course not. That's what I mean, the DLC would be a package. X new cars, Y new tracks, Z new events. That would make track DLC more worthwhile a purchase to me.

True, it was actually the only reason for me to buy SSRX. I mainly wanted the gamemode. (If gamemode or independant events, it's about the same.)

I didn't buy that but I do agree, when I've already long finished all of the original single player content I need a reason to buy the DLC tracks rather than just individual races or online, that I don't really do much of (Plus there is the segregation issue there). I only bought Spa from GT5 DLC (Because, well, it's Spa) and I hardly used it except a few offline races and the rare occasion a host didn't skip it online because not everyone had it.

To incorporate the new DLC tracks into the career, they could just add another section in A-spec, up above the endurance races and call it "additional content" or something. They could download it into the game like they do with the seasonal events. Have a bunch of races that feature the new track(s), while still incorporating some regular tracks as well to keep some variety in it. You'd earn money and experience just like any other career mode race.

Or alternatively they could go into the "Beginner" group of events, which currently has 9 series of races, and add a tenth that included 4 or 5 races on your new DLC track. And do the same thing with the Amateur, Professional, Expert, etc. series.

Easiest way would be for some a-events to be, for example 5 races, 1 of which is a random track (obviously a random choice of tracks which would fit the class/series). If your dlc track fits into the category, then it will be picked at random from time to time.

That way it's not throwing it in your face if you don't have all the tracks, but if you do you'll get to play a-spec on them.

I would fully expect all the DLC content from GT5 to be included on the GT6 initial release as part of the package and not as DLC.

I am hoping to see both Seattle and El Capitan in GT6 if not in the initial release then in an early DLC pack. I would also really like to see Road Atlanta and Road America.

Any word on how many months we will receive a "DLC track a month" for?

I'm not quite sure. On the one hand, GT6 releases (possibly) within a few months of the PS4. Wether they will continue to support a PS3 title is up for debate. This would mean only 2-3 DLC tracks.

Or, judging by Lucas' comments, it could last well into 2014.

If they bring back most of the classics GT5 is currently missing, it should keep us busy for the first year and maybe more. I think we'll see DLC right up to the announcement of GTx on PS4 which I expect to be between mid and late 2014.

First of all I`m very very disappointed they release GT6 on ps3...A catastophy, plain...ps3 and it`s network is extremely faulty, embarrasing for Sony, and annoying for us...And who wants to play on an outdated platform, when a new (and hopefully) better console comes??

But my wishes for new tracks will be: MORE than GT5...Of course I understand its difficult to make up tracks, but they could with Gt4, but not with GT5...

Honest I don`t think we will get much tracks with the disc...They want us to buy DLC tracks....

The flip side of that is who would want to have to buy a PS4 just to play GT6 and who would want to wait another 2-3 years for GT6?

hehe good answer...And MY answer to your answer is... ME...I bought PS3 ONLY for the GT5Prolouge, and then I waited patiently for GT5 for 2 years and 8 month...

GT5 and Gt5Prologue are the only video games I have ever owned...

So I would INDEED buy a PS4 ONLY for GT6,and thats the truth (You are allowed to LOL)

And Yes, I would wait (this time IMpatiently) for GT6 on PS4 if I had to...:guilty:

Yes... If I had to but I would not buy the PS4 until right before the game was on the shelf.

Happily I do not need to buy a PS4 just yet and will be playing GT6 soon :)

I bought a PS just for Road Rash 3D, Bought a PS2 just for GT4 and the PS3 just for GT5P and GT5

I also bought the XBox 360 just for Forza 2 - Tired of waiting for GT5 :(

Most of my gaming has always been on the PC

How many GT4 tracks are still left out of GT5? At least that many.

I'm being somewhat cynical, but I fully expect them to milk that opportunity for all it's worth. We saw GT4 tracks in GT5 already, I see no reason for them not to DLC stuff like El Capitan.

To quote Marvin the Paranoid Android: "Why stop now, just when I'm hating it?"

Hate to say it, but it wouldn't surprise me if the DLC tracks from GT5 are being counted as "new" tracks in GT6. Leaving us with 3 actual new tracks. The numbers add up perfectly then.

Just trawled through this thread and I am not really basing this on anything but it strikes me that new tracks/locations are coming and some old ones are going.

One piece of information that is now going to developers is online analysis from GT5....so perhaps some of the less popular tracks will go making space for new/old (re-modded) tracks into this version of the game.

You must have missed the part where they said ALL GT5 cars and tracks are returning then. ;)

There is also no need to make space for anything, they have plenty of space on the Blu-Ray disc.

Yep, just three would be sad as a starting point, but maybe the DLC tracks are still DLC tracks and won't be on the disc. This would give us 7 new tracks and that would be quite a lot to start with, especially as it is said there will be another track per month coming in as DLC.

Fair point - have to say I am not all over this as much as some on here. If they haven't analysed GT5 online data for user preferences etc - they should have done! Few reports shouldn't be too hard to knock out!!

I agree that they should have but if they have clearly they're not doing anything with the data, at least not for GT6.

I'm going to guess at the worst on launch to be only 3 new courses, but PD could surprise us and give us 7 new courses with the 19 extra variations. Anyway, I won't mind paying for more courses as dlc as long as the tracks are new.

I also have a theory for the dlc tracks from GT5; maybe they're in GT6, but exclusively only going to be available to players that have played GT5 or downloaded the GT5 track dlc packs in the past.

I did already say that to be fair.
A. All of the current 31 locations including DLC locations are returning to GT6 on the disc, renumbered as 30 through merging the Eiger locations into one. The further three locations to get to the number 33 are brand new.

B. Only the 27 original locations of GT5 are returning to GT6 on the disc, renumbered to 26 through merging the Eiger locations into one. The further seven locations to get to the number 33 are brand new and the four GT5 DLC tracks are not returning at all.

C. Only the 27 original locations of GT5 are returning to GT6 on the disc, renumbered to 26 through merging the Eiger locations into one. The further seven locations to get to the number 33 are brand new and the four GT5 DLC tracks will continue as DLC for GT6. They will not be on the disc.

I really wouldn't mind if they were GT4 tracks, I haven't driven on those in years and I've got a sentimental attachment to them lol.

One track a month sounds almost unbelievable for PD (especially with them making cars as DLC too) unless they've A) already got the tracks almost finished and aren't including them in the game or B) are just going to do HD remasters on GT4 tracks.

I found this video, I don't recognize the track @ 0:39

Does anyone else recognize this track?

The whole video is at Silverstone.

Nope. Cape Ring and Le Mans are also in there. This unknown track is not Silverstone because there are cobble-stone curbs (not present at Silverstone) and metal guardrails (not present at Silverstone.)

Edit: it's also not Copse Corner because there's no grass.
