US Collectors edition
All DLC
1 Shredded knockoff controller
Track guide hint book

+ and I bought the PS3 with this game as priority 1, but that was a year before GT5 came out

Not a huge amount although I bought a PS3 just to play GT5.

I have spent far more on Sim Racing in general though:
G25 (Now sold)
DFGT (Now Spare)
T500RS
Clubsport pedals (Use with my T500 for PC sims)
Subscribed to iRacing in 2008 and not due to run out till 2013
Tons of iRacing content (all road and some oval)
GTR
GTR 2
GT Legends
rFactor
RFactor 2
Race 07/GTR Evolution/Race On + all add on packs.
NFS Shift 2 (waste of money)
Live for speed
XBox 360 with Microsoft Racing Wheel (Waste of Money now sold)
Forza 2 (sold)
Forza 3 (sold)
New HDD for 360 (Microsoft rip off now sold)
pCars for PC
2 PC's
Various PC GPU upgrades
Triple screens for PC

Various older games such as GT4, 3, 2 ,1 etc. + consoles

There's probably much more that I have forgotten.

:ouch::nervous:

Game-£40
dfgt (technically for prologue but used until gt5 came out too)-£60
g27-£230
PS eye (that I ever use) £30 I think
Total: £360...wow, didn't know it was that much...
Oh yeah, and the DLC, about £30 I think?

After converting dollars, I remember when they were 4 to the pound!!!!

It goes like this...

Having tried GT5 on my son's PS3 I've bought a PS3, the game, three DLCs and a wheel. Worth every penny!

I raced slot cars in the 1960s and loved it. GT5 is way better.

All prices in approximate Canadian $

-GT5 x 2* = $136 *destroyed my first disc through excessive use
-Wheelstand Pro = $200
-DFGT = $170
-Playseat Alcantara (upgrade) = $350
-DLC (all + paint pack x 4) = $37
-PS3 headphones (keeps gf happy) = $100

TOTAL = $993

Whew! Now if only I could convert my GT winnings into real dollars...

Let me see

£39.99 GT5 Standard edition
£7.00 Chrome Line Edition Codes
£6.29 Race Car Pack
£1.59 Paint Pack
Free Stealth Pack Codes all eu cars (Trade early days of gt5 for 20 mill cars and tickets)
Free Jaguar XJ13 Chrome Line Edition Code (Facebook)
Free DLC Car pack 2 Shared Account not via GTP
Free DLC Car Pack 3 Shared Account not via GTP
Free Course Pack Shared Account not via GTP

Total Spent £54.87

I only bought the ps3 with gt5 in mind and i could also add my 3d tv in to the picture but i would have bought both of them regardles so diddnt add them.

You should. I was on the fence too for a while, finally bought a DFGT and it has increased my love for this game tenfold. Trust me, you won't regret it!

GT5 $60
Logitech DFGT $125
Playseat Rookie $320 :banghead: Should've looked into a more comfortable seat.
DLC $40

Didn't include this but my new 320 GB PS3 since I was running out of space and wanted to keep playing GT5 but it was taking up almost all of my old PS3s space. -$300

Well based only on the votes, the average person here has spent $782.84 USD or $729.46 AUD or 491.57 GBP or 587.16 EUR.

*Looks back at original post amount* Oh damn! Only $723 USD! Just below the average, oh well, I'm sure I'll spent money on a giant TV in the next couple of months, and that'll more than make up for the difference. Then I'll need a stand for wheel. Then I'll need a new seat, since my desk chair will be too high. Could be much more than average.

That was based on total votes, using an average of the two values of each segment multiplied by their vote count, then totalled and divided by the total voter amount - Now I'm going to see if I can use 'real' numbers (less people, but more accurate).

WOW You're going to be surprised how close the poll numbers were to the 'actual values'.

Based on 25 people who posted their final values, when I converted them all to USD it added up to $19947.5 !! Divide that by 25 people = $797.9, so the poll was only off by a meager $15.06! Not bad at all (I'm counting up to the guy below me who spent $150).

Gran Turismo 5: $59.99

Total: $59.99

I might get GT5 XL Edition so that would be 39.99 plus the DLC.

Ive bought the game and every DLC
But I see it as saving money
I'd of spent alot more if I went to the pub evry fri/sat/sun instead of having a drink at home and playing GT5, it has more than earnt its money by keeping me amused for hours on end

Same thing for me except the second ps3

Pretty much the same as most. But I lurked on craigslist until I found a dfgt for 80 or 90,I forget. Already had the full hd tv, and I bought and likely will buy all dlc.

Sig edition 300 aud
DFGT 2nd hand 100 aud
New Hdd 100 aud
all dlc 40+ aud
DFGT mounting stuff seat etc 500 aud

so similar to other enthusiast at the $1000 bracket...... quite alot really, considering I used to be a 'call of duty" addict and that only cost me $450 over 5 years, and Forza 1,2,3 with most DLC's and a microsoft wheel was $680 ish

Well, I ONLY bought a PS3 for GT (BUT argued to my wife it dueled as a Blueray/DVD player). -- All in USD
$300 PS3
$30 GT5P - to bide time
$60 GT5 - Release Date
$125 DFGT - Christmas Gift my wife got me, but I am the only income (man I love her)
$35 DLC - I bought every one and the DLC1 Paints 2x
$30 Logitic Precision Controller - more comfortable for DS3 GT5 use IMO
$60 1 USB stick, a Flash Card and a Card Reader

that about covers it other than the TV was bought for GT4 to play the game in HD (Yes, if you bought a "Component Cable I/O" for your PS2 you were able to play GT4 in 1080i) So of course this doesnt count the PS1, the controllers and game for the PS1 (yes GT1 is why I have owned PlayStations), GT1, GT2, Memory Cards, my PS2, Memory Cards, a Logitec controller, GT3, GT4, Component I/O Monster Cable, My TV.... Wow... I am way too hooked in this game ;)

Oh, and not to mention (yes I will blame it on GT) I have had to upgrade my Mustang several times. First off (yes I even thought this when I did it) I made my Mustang "Standard" by tinting the windows... I needed new rims, a tuner, an intake, a muffler... And yes I was thinking "Intake -> Sports Filter", "Exhaust -> Sports Muffler", "Engine -> Computer", "GT Auto -> New Rims..." and there goes another $3k on a conservative level...

BUT I will only claim the $640 I did earlier (though I should claim at least half of the other too... )

Heres mine in USD:

Home made wheel stand- $75
Logitech G27- $250
Samsung 42" LED 3D SmarTV-$1180
Turtle Beach DPX21- $160

So a grand total of $1665

In Canadian $
GT5: $49
DFGT: $149
Folding table for wheel: $35
DLC1: $12
Part of DLC2: $6

Total $251

My wife really wanted the 59" Smasung 3D TV at the after Christmas sales, so I don't need to count that (I really love her).

PS3 = 218 pound sterling
GT5 = 15 pound sterling
DFGT = 75 pound sterling
DFGT Stand = 30 pound sterling

Didnt include the tv cost as i bought that before the ps3.

so altogether 338 pound sterling or 539 american stinking dollars

Thinking about getting another DFGT stand though which is a 100 quid so this total could change.

FFS! Do you have no self-control?:yuck:

That's a ludicrous amount of money to spend, theoretically, on a game.:ill:

Well, since i got the PS3, Home Theater set and the TV for X-Mass and my B-Day, you can see that i haven't paid so much really. And i have a little job which makes good money to spend on this stuff... ;)
Different people, different wishes, different budgets. Thats all i say. (:

G27
Built my own rig with an old Fiero seat and cheap metal tubing (less then 50 dollars invested, and VERY solid with a fully adjustable seat)
Game itself and all DLC

Probably doesn't put me over the $500 mark, but there was plenty spent so I could properly experience GT when it was released.

I've recently been using my wheel for Iracing and plan on getting Rfactor2. So while GT is what made me decide to get a wheel, I still plan on using it for many other racing Sims and maybe some arcade racers if I find any good ones that are fun with a wheel.

GT5 game - 60 bucks
dlc - ? 30 bucks??
DFGT - 150 bucks

So 240 bucks for everything, depending on how much I paid on the dlc.
