Not really. Like i said earlier, any race that i can do (and have done several times) in A-spec mode might get some action from Bob as well. It's only those who rely on B-spec to get thru portions of the game that they are too lazy or too unskilled to finish that get a thumbs down đź‘Ž. On the downside for these folks: B-spec is alot more expensive to rely in the long run. It's so much cheaper to do your own driving, know what i mean?

Yeah but at the same time, like I said, B-spec with a 175,000Cr car in the el capitan enduro wins a 700,000+ prize car and 250,000 for the race in only about half an hour.
You just can't go broke doing that from time to time. :D

Pretty much all the B-specing I do is there and the italiano cup (where a zonda easily wins 3 2-lap races against FFs to get a 265,000 alfa touring car prize). :sly:

Well that's still not as bad as hooking up a rubber band & scotch tape in the GT3 Super Speedway enduro, letting a friggin' Excuseo do all the work. :yuck: At least with B-spec...there is always a chance Bob will screw up. :dunce: My experience has been: you just can't put Bob out there and walk away for half an hour. It seems he always screws up my race (especially enduros) unless I closely monitor what's going on.

I used B-spec a lot in the beginning, and again later on to gain maximum B-spec stats. Bob retired at 66,666 miles and I switched my focus to maximising A-spec points. Now that I have 65,500+ miles on A-spec I am thinking about bringing Bob back, ironically to assist in my A-spec quest. I mean, would you want to drive 6000+ miles in cars such as the Daihatsu Copen, Renault Megane and Suzuki Alto just to wear the engine out for a few extra points?

I find endurance races boring so use bspec for them. I sometimes use bspec in time trial so I can have little contests with my bspec driver.

Why do you find them boring? I agree, some of them are boring..I'm not dissing you...but some of them are also very challenging, fun, and require strategy, patience, and discipline.

I haven't done every enduro yet but the Grand Valley 300KM is awesome...especially in a road car with a wing kit attached :dopey:. Laguna is great for about 20 laps, but (I'll agree with you) it gets real boring after that because most of the competition falls off after that first pit stop. I entered a poor-handling Chevelle to keep me from getting too lazy and also keep me from killing the competition. đź‘Ť

When I pull into the pits, all I get for options is tyres, and whether to refuel.

I don't understand.

Does it only work on endurance races? Do I need to push any other buttons?

Interesting -- B-Bertrand likes racing around in his Formula GT so much that refuses to swap places with me in an endurance race. I can only choose tires and fuel while Driving Mode is "--". I've noticed this in Sarthe Enduro I and Infineon Sports. He's happy to swap places in the other cars though.

Edit: Ah, I don't have my International A license. That's why.

Woops, better start getting better licenses. I pretty much never use Bob, sometimes for enduros, the first time I did the enduros I used him but now I drive it all mysel...........except for one championship, the DTM league, if I want buttloads of money I get him in an Opel Astra Turbo'd so he won't lose, over 800 grand in 15mins, go Bob.

Yes, the fact you can enter races in B-spec when you don't have the license to A-spec them is an odd feature of the game, especially since you get the money and prize car.

A lot of people like to make money B-spec'ing the NĂĽrburgring 24. (And try to collect all colours of FGT as a bonus).

The assumption is that our Bspec drivers already have all their licenses  how ironic is that?

Yes, the game should have been, but wasn't, implemented so an A-spec percentage complete was visible independent of B-spec or total percentage complete.

The game should also have been, but wasn't, implemented so that, without getting in a car suitable for an event, you could see...
 1. All race info (track, distance) for each component race
 2. A-spec point record for each race
 3. B-spec completion for race
The information is stored in the game save--it's just cruel the way you have such difficulty finding it. (Although you can actually determine A-spec achieved without using a game day, but it takes rather a long time since you actually need to enter/exit the event). The "event clearing" to get the prize is sort of weird too. You can lose track of the fact you've already got percentage points for events you've cleared but not redone yet.

hey guys, i'm doing the 1000 miles! series of races and just now starting to use b-spec a lot. just curious; how often does everyone else use it?

thanks to the B-Spec ..i can make my 100% :embarrassed:
endurance races ..all by B-Spec !

If i re-made the BSpec races in ASpec ...
i could be over 80k ASpec ....:scared:

Ive only used B-Spec for the endurance races the first time around (still to do the Le Man 24H races). Now i refuse to as i mainly now buy and modify weird cars like the Volvo and use them to beat the special conditions races (Tarmac) and i like to drive alot

Finally someone just like me, I just love to drive, so I buy cars I don't have and modify then do Tarmac Rallies, only need B-spec now to get a real heavy wallet real fast.

Another use for B-spec is to spec out Enduroes. Rather than do the whole thing in real-time just for reconnaissance, either losing or overpowering, it's easier to use an overpowered car, win in B-spec by many laps (or even lose, for that matter), and then from the results work out the schedule you need to beat the star cars.

Plus you get better statistics in B-spec mode!!!! That's a really annoying feature of the game. After any race is finished, and even when viewing replays, the game should have given you access to the B-spec type chart showing the statistics for all cars--but it didn't.

So B-spec'ing, at least towards the end of the race, lets you determine expected average time for each car, and number of pitstops and fastest laps, with accuracy which would be difficult to do in A-spec.

I reached 70% without using B-Spec. Once I entered my first Endurance (Grand Valley), I realized how time consuming they were. I looove driving in this game, but more than 60 laps on one track in one sitting is a bit much for me. Anything over a couple hours, I'll B-Spec. I mostly just want to complete the Endurances for the money, prize cars, and percentage of completion. They aren't as fun to me as the shorter races. I can deal with around 55 laps or less, but not much more. So far I've completed Grand Valley (all A-Spec), El Capitan (half and half), and Nurburgring 4 Hours (all B-Spec) since Monday.

In GT1 the Grand Valley 300, a 300km race at slightly unrealistically fast speeds (you needed about 1hr50mins or less to win), was sort of the crowning achievement when playing the game. A rare marathon, a bit taxing and time-consuming, but quite enjoyable because of its spectacular rarity.

In subsequent races, endurance races got longer and longer, with more long races, until in GT4 they have become ridiculous.
