I'm 25. I started with GT2 at my friends house on his PS1. It was around 1998. We would put on euro-dance music and play GT for several hours at a time. It was a big deal for us at the time because we were all 14-15 and didn't have drivers license yet.

I'm 17 (almost 18) and have played GT2 a few times around 2000, but only bought GT4 for PS2 in 2006, and GT5P for PS3 in march 2008

Wow, so I'm not even the oldest here :) 44 and playing the series since 2000.
It's the only video game I own, besides Grand Prix Legends on PC.

24 nearly 25, have played GT since the first one, played them all except for the "dealership ones"

I'm 37 and have played them all and had most of the popular wheels at one time or another. Getting ready to build a custom cockpit and deciding which wheel for GT5.

I'm 39 & I don't remember playing the original GT but played all the others. I recently found GT2 in the loft, which have been playing for a while with GT5p.

I'm 24 ive been playing GT since the first one came out i borrowed it from a kid that lived down the street he was like 4 or 5 years older then me. the game was a blast i then borrowed GT2 when it came out and play it for a while. GT3 was given to me (after it has been out for a year) I didnt pick up GT4 because i was tired of using a controller to race i wanted a race wheel that had a clutch and shifter and i found the g25 online im still looking forward to get a g25 or g27 when GT5 comes out i also only got the demo of GT5P

Im 25 and Ive been obsessed with GT since it came out. GT is pretty much a collectible for me, Ill buy any GT game on any console. I play allot of other video games (including racers) but for me nothing can compare to GT and its replay value is one of the best.

I rented the first GT a day after the us version came out. I bought it the following weekend.

I kept an eye out for gt2 and I even bought a demo disk off somebody to play the demo (on the track in italy).

I bought a bootleg copy of the japanese gt2 just to play it asap

I bought a ps2 at launch to play gt3

I got the ps2 modded just to play bootleg copies of the concept games

I bought a bootleg copy of GT4P (just to play that citta di aria track)

I bought a bootleg copy of GT4 just to play it a little early

I hung around the eb games with 25 other people on the launch day of gt4, people applauded the delivery guy when he showed up.

I bought a japanese copy of prologue just to play it ahead of time

Im buying a UMD PSP next week just to play GTMobile.

YES!!! I have purchased allot of bootleg copies of GT in the past. I feel its justified since I always bought the legit english language copy after (except the concept games). I just wanted to play it early.

Wow, this thread sure has a lot of new members posting. I feel oldskool. :)
I'm now 51 and started with GT4 waaay back in 2005. March 30th to be exact.

My very first experciences with this game can be found [thread=67401]here[/thread].

I used a DFP on auto & set to 200 degree steering. My setup drove a couple of guys in the UKGTP(4) LAN parties crazy. :D.
Since then I switched to 900 degree steering and half a year later or so went to manual.
Never will be an exceptional driver but still enjoy the game. Teamed up with a couple of NL based guys and we used to LAN every Tuesday evening. When GT5P came out we switched to PS3s and ran under Tuesday_<insert colour> tags. We've given quite a number of GTPers a run for their money :)

Currently own a playseat, PS2 & 3, DFP & G25 and two (yes two) Playstation games: GT4 and GT5P.

AMG.

I'm 16 and i have had gt4 ever since i was 13. gt4 was my first gran turismo..but after i bought gt4 and found out how amazing the series is, i bought them all.

I'm 21, and been playing gran turismo since the very first demo of the first ever gran turismo ever created in the face of the earth . Beat that.

I'm 26 and started playing GT in 1998.

I was always a huge fan of racing games, and i even bought a Saturn just to play Daytona USA and Sega Rally, i thought those games were way better than Ridge Racer on the Playstation.

Then i saw an issue of EGM, that came with a Gran Turismo poster. I think it was around june of 1998.

I bought the magazine and went nuts about the game. "166 cars? realistic?" On the same week i went to a local game place and played the game for an hour.

It was like nothing i had ever seen before. I came out of the playtest thinking i had to have the game. I was 15, so i had a lot of free time back then.

On the following week i got a playstation with GT, and since then i've been in love with the series and have followed the games closely.

Now i'm counting the days to december and i hope the get some vacation once GT5 is released.

I'm unsure if I contributed here before, and since I don't feel like checking...

I'm 23 and I've been playing since 2001.

I wasn't into the simulation scene much during the time and I was just coming around to a liking of cars at that, but after playing GT3 and having really liked it and developed a technique pretty quickly for a primary arcade racer at the time, I pretty much adopted the entire series.

Didn't have a PS2 at the time (was introduced to GT3 by a friend who rented it on a whim) so I had to back track to GT2, and then the first. The rest is history. 👍

Wow the you must've seen the gaming world change dramatically from a closed off niche group to a multi-billion dollar industry.

I’m 18 and have been playing since GT2, although I didn’t really get into the GT series until GT4. Once I played GT4 I was hooked and flip-flopped back and forth between GT4 and GT2, and now GT5P and soon GT5. I still sometimes even wear the hat that came with GT2 when I play any GT game, for good luck I guess.

I'm 27 and played GT since the first one came out on PS. Love the series, for me it`s the only driving simulation that comes close to real driving.

To be honest I skipped GT5 Prologue...still waiting for the real deal...
