37, been playing since the beginning... and it just gets better and better!

I'm sure that a like a lot of people I'd be happy if they just re-released GT1 with better graphics and more cars every year :D
 
I'm 28 and have been playing since the first GT, first time I ever pre-ordered a game after getting all hyped up by reading about it on IGN. Got my PS3 last year when the TT demo came out and also bought GT5 Prologue then. Tomorrow I will get GT 5 in the mail, looking forward to it!

And a bit off topic:

I am an absolute nutter for racing games, especially the F1 games. I actually started playing racing games early on, I remember playing Accolade's 1988 Grand Prix Circuit on the family 286 pc, in sweet monochrome colors... Think I was 6 or 7 and playing outside when my dad called me in to ask me how I'd like to drive a Ferrari :) Was hooked to racing ever since. Compare the looks of Monza and Ferrari F1's cockpit against what we have now in GT 5 haha.

I am 26, I have been playing GT Series since GT1 was released, I actually learned how manual transmissions worked with rpm's through driving in GT and when I got my first car it was a 5 speed and I had no problem knowing when and how to shift after playing so much GT!
 
Im 27 and started playing in 1998 at Toy R Us on the demo PS's! Had most of them including GT4 Prologue and even got the Japanese version of GT5 Prologue.

Its an addiction i swear but what a beautiful addiction!
 
I'm 21 and I remember playing GT1 and 2 but i don't think i owned them. (think i borrowed them off a friend).

Brought GT3 & 4 on PS2 and loved them to bits.

Waited some time for GT5 and it came yesterday!
 
34 Here, and I have had every GT game since the first one. Matter fact those are the only games I've ever owned for PS1, 2 and 3. I was living in Japan when GT3 came out and I bought a Japanese PS2 bundle just for GT3. That was an experience since all the menus and stuff were in Japanese.
 
21, and when i was about 10 or so, i used to watch my brother play GT1 and GT2 on PSX, they've all grown up now and have "lives" so i guess i'm going to continue the legacy :D
 
33 and been playing since GT1.

Just to add you will see alot of people between 30/40+ who are still playing the GT series.
 
I am 27 and I am playing since 1998. Actually I have always bought PS1, 2 and 3 just for playing GT...thanks to GT I almost win a car (real one) in a nationwide contest, I finished 4th out of 24...LOVE THIS THING!
 
I started playing when I was 7 in 2005, and GT3 was the first Ps game I had ever played. Then I got GT4, and it was even better, but it was only in 2008 that I realized that, being a car buff, Gran Turismo 5 was the game for me. I got my first wheel, a Driving Force Pro that year. Now, my G27 and PS3 are sitting in wait for Gran Turismo 5 to come. The wait is finally over, Amazon is shipping as we speak...
 
I'm 31 and i've been with the GT series from the beginning. Me and the lads used to have some awesome nights chilling out and playing GT2 i remember.

When GT4 came out I booked 3 days off work and was stood outside the shop waiting for it opening. Everyone thought I was mad, even the guy opening the shop but now everyone does it.
 
21, and I've been playing GT since the first game on PS one, when it was released.
Never played the second one though, as I was too young to care or know about any sequel.
Played GT3 and 4, and today i bought GT5 CE :)
Extremely happy with the game so far. Only thing that bothers me atm is how there seems to be no fast forward/rewind function during replays.
Can anyone correct me on this? I really want a FF/RW option during replay to get the most of out photo mode.

From the GTPlanet GT5 Photomode FAQ & Tutorial Depot thread, it seems I've gotten an answer to my question.
Q: Will we be able to rewind replays as well as fast-forward?
A: Currently, neither feature is supported.

jC, my story is literally the exact same as yours! 30 years old, been playing since GT1, and owned a copy of GT3 months before I owned a PS2.
 
Im 22 now. Started playing in 1998 on my first playstation. Played the demo, fell in love. Played a lot of the demo while saving up money. Oh man, its been the same ever since. Love it

got GT2, then PS2 just for GT3, then GT4

now after years :)

GT5 im playing right now. Had to take a break to join the community.
 
34...since GT1.

The GT series has influenced my auto life so much that my first "new" car was a WRX (due to gt3). Started autocrossing soon thereafter, went through a few STi's, an evo9, and now campaign a 600hp evo8 around numerous automotive driving events!
