...Well, I'm sure that once Clarkson drives the car, he will probably talk about how great it is, and then after finding out the Opel GT was built in Kentucky after being designed in America, he will probably call it one of the worst cars ever made.

Well he LOVES the Ford GT, and then went out and bought one. And last time i checked . . . Ford was an American company . . .

I know, I'm being a bit cynical here. It's only Clarkson, and atleast Hammond likes many of our cars. But when it really comes down to it, it is more important that the American press and Americans themselves like the cars, as they are the ones who are buying them.

All that matters with GM right now is getting the Zeta cars done right for 2008, as they are going to be the make-or-break models that they have been needing for some time. Hopefully they are focusing quite a bit of their time on the Impala and Grand Prix prodjects, as they will probably account for the majority of the sales of the Zeta platform here in the US.

I'm crossing my fingers that they decide to make a manual transmission optional in them, as they are pretty important to enthusiests, a growing segment of buyers that will be looking for new small-block power to chase down Infiniti G35s and BMW 330ils. Knowing how closely related the cars will be to their Australian cousins, I'm pretty sure that they will, but knowing GM, they may not in the end.

What I want to hear more than anything is what they are going to do to package the engines in the cars. Being that they are going to be sold in the American market, there will probably only be two or maybe three engine options, so I want to know whats going in! Will it be the Aussie-designed L76? The iron Vortec 5300 or Aluminum LS4? Will the LS2 see service? What V6 engines will be used, if any?
