Absolutely, I think @Socket68 said he sent me one?
Do you mind if I take it offline so I can practice with it, and then put it back on for you on Friday?

And to all the Turtle members, have fun and eat lots of turkey (that way all of you are fat and I have an advantage for December! :P)

Yeah... Canadian Turkey Day was last month. XD

Edit: I'll be testing and tuning the BTR and room hopping, maybe opening a shuffle for the next few hours if anyone wants to add me and join in. Most likely in Turtle Practice for the next hour.

I managed a 1:15 in the Countach, so it defiantly is the fastest. But I have a 1:16.2xx in the YellowBird, so it's still one second off of the Countach.

The cars I'm testing out, I should tell you now, are not as fast as the cars you guys are testing. They're about ten seconds slower if they're running NA, but they're so fun, I could care less if you guys lap me. I know this is supposed to be fun, and it should be.

I tested the Mazda Eunos Roadster '89, I fully tuned it to around 480 pp with 240 HP, and I still ran about a 1:20.xxx, and it was a fun little car! It had very good handling, but the power was missing. Also, here's some pics of my Yellow Bird that I might use, but I still need to make my choice...

Well, I should say my cars aren't quite fully tuned (they can be turbocharged or supercharged) and maybe they'll be quicker, and even more so with RM tires equipped, but they're so much fun with SS tires that I don't care if I run them as is.

The Mazda was more fun than the rest of the cars I tested while I was practicing. I wasn't working hard to keep the car in a straight line (RUFs), and I didn't have to deal with the understeer like in some cars. It was a car that I would be able to consistently drive for 15 minutes rather than having one good lap in a RUF, and then shredding tires the rest of the race.

bummer... i don't have an '89 r32... anyone up for trade? where can I buy this car?
I may have one, I'll check in the morning.

Don't have one. Letting bob run the rx7 around some races, maybe one will turn up in the UCD.

UPDATE: Got one and sent!

Hey @jay*doc, I guess I'll be the to reveal my car for December! It's going to be the 1989 Nissan Fairlady Z 300ZX 2Seater! See you all on Thursday!

@johnsom No Problem! Fresh from the used car lot, so I'm sure it needs an oil change at least.

@GT_Racer22 Awesome! My friend had one if those, it was a rocket. I've still not yet decided. I really like the Lamborghini, but it may be a bit overkill for me...

I don't like to use the fastest car, I like to be competing with everyone because it is more fun! The 300ZX is running around the speeds, but a bit slower, of the RUFs that I tested, but the Lamborghini is if you want to completely beat everyone. And that's not fun.

I think 440 PP might be too low a value for my car(s) for the series. I could bring it up to 470 PP and have a slight chance with you guys, but 440...

I would like to try and drop in on some races when I am available. My psn is slalom823. I won't be able to make all of them because of work, but if you don't mind a drop in, then I would enjoy joining in.

Awesome, I'll send you a FR to get you into the race room. Please look over the first page, for all the details and the schedule. This month we are using 1980's cars.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask! Welcome!

Good Evening Racers! I've worked out the next 4 months of events, including another special "Top Gear" event in January. After GT6 is released, I'll be able to fill in all of the tracks and PP info in full detail, but here's a preview of whats to come!

Classic Volkswagen Beetle Racing
**January will kick off HST's use of GT6. In order to give us time to build up credits for more expensive vehicles, the first month will use an inexpensive car, and also slower, to get familiar with new tracks. Tracks for this month will be announced once they are tested with a tuned Classic Beetle, to provide a fun event!
Regulations
  • You may choose either of the 2 Classic Volkswagen Beetle's
  • You may Tune Vehicle up to 300PP.
  • Tires must be Comfort Soft or less.
Events
  • January 2nd: 4x 15min Races @ TBA
  • January 9th: 4x 15min Races @ TBA
  • January 16th: 4x 15min Races @ TBA
  • January 23rd: 4x 15min Races @ TBA

A preview of whats to come in HST on GT6 in 2014

Bathurst, Ascari, Willow Springs, Silverstone?

Yep, all of those will be there, just have to determine which variation (when applicable) and what time of day/weather variations.

Are you getting a digital copy Derp? Think you'll have it for our January races?

This sounds great guys! Just with the Beetle, it is a really fun little car once you tune it right!

I think I'm going to go for the physical copy, but if load times are just as fast or faster, and there isn't a texture pop-in problem, I'll probably go digital. Plus it saves on taxes (14%), but I won't get any of the promo cars Wal-Mart would be offering. I'll have my mind made up by the 20th I think.

I pre -ordered mine from game stop. It's the same price. You just have to wait on it cause they don't ship it till the 6th. Plus it comes with a code for 25 cars and 1 million in game credits.

Total cost is $70.14

I don't have a debit/credit card, so I can't really buy much online. I just use the PsN cards from stores. Would be 59.99 exactly.

I did the same but opted for next day shipping. 75$

Good evening Racers! Please give a warm welcome to @Slalom as he's (or she's, cover my bases) now a member of the HST Lounge to begin racing with us!

Also, I'm going to reveal my car choice for this coming event. Even though, if I can be honest, I picked the 80's theme specifically so I could use the Countach, I still love the Grand National too much! In my opinion it's a beautiful and unique car, and more attainable for me in Real Life than the Countach. So there you have it.

Finally, races 2,3,4 will utilize a new HST start procedure on Thursday night, bare with me if it does not work as planned. If it helps we'll continue with it for select events. If not, we'll act like it never happened, lol.

Thanks!

I'm testing a few more cars today, and I have to say, the 5 Turbo and MR1 are so far the most fun to drive. I'll update yas with the rest of my findings later, and I'll put the best ones up to share

EDIT:
Testing has concluded. Rather than just go straight for fastest lap times, I've judged the cars based on how fun they are to drive. I can only share 6 on GT5, so here's my top six:
6) RUF BTR
5) Chevrolet Camaro IROC-Z Concept
4) Lamborghini Countach
3) Renault 5 Turbo
2) Toyota MR2 1600 G
1) Lotus Espirit Turbo HC

To put this into perspective, the car I "like" the most here is the Camaro. I rated them based on how they felt and drove at Deep Forest Raceway.

All these cars are online! Feel free to try them.
