Happy Super Bowl Sunday Racers!

With the recent addition of new racers, and as a refresher to those of us who have been there since the beginning, I'd like to go over our Race Night format briefly to help avoid any confusion in the upcoming event.

Lets start with "Track Day Starts" - When an event is designated a "Track Day", we use a unique starting procedure where each racer leaves 5 seconds after the person in front of them. This allows the slower racers a chance to get out on the track and not worry about getting passed quickly after turn one. It also allows the faster racers a better challenge racing up from behind and making passes through the pack. So, if you are in position 1, you leave when the "3,2,1" countdown finishes, then place 2 at 5 seconds, 3 at 10 seconds, 4 at 15 seconds, and so on…

Mics during racing - Mics should be on mute prior to the in game "3,2,1" countdown. If you need to make your position known to another racer, or advise another racer not to wait for you after an incident, please do, bit then re-mute your mic. This really helps with driving concentration and minimizes distractions.

Mics while in lobby - Please do not mute each other while in lobby. This creates a lot of confusion and 2 or more people talking at once. The goal of this league is to provide a fun racing environment and promote friendships amongst racers.

I hope to see you all on Thursday, Lets go play in the dirt!

I always have brainfarts between the HST starts and the Enduro starts, and I just completely forget. I really wanted to quit that race after I screwed up the start. Is there a limit on how many times that I can say sorry?

Hey @GT_Racer22 , no need to apologize, it's something unique and you were not the only one who had went early. I'll start chatting "Track Day" right before I start the race as a reminder, I know some of you without miss can't hear us all that well when we are talking.

I set up a testing lobby over the weekend for the upcoming snow and dirt tracks. Both tracks are very long, but lots of fun. We will start with Track Day starts in all races, including race 1. Grid will be set based on Reverse Order of previous race, it may use the lap times during practice to set your start position, or it may be random, I'm not sure, but we will use the grid it gives us. As a reminder, and for anyone possibly looking for a fun event, our next event is:

I don't mean to nitpick... but I was in the white Subaru

Mics while in lobby - Please do not mute each other while in lobby.

I'm sorry to say that I have to mute Racing Otaku's mic. I don't want to but I have to. I know he's quite sensitive about it and comments on my muting him (even though I don't hear them). I only hear about 30% of what he's saying anyway and the rest is VERY loud breathing. It's a technolgy issue and nothing personal, I assure you. I also guarantee you Otaku, that if you heard what I am hearing at your end from my mic, there is no doubt in my mind that you would do the same :ill:

@ANFD I understand what your saying, but the fact that muting can be one sided leads to difficulty in conversation. You and Racing both have active participation during our lobby intermissions (which I appreciate that both of you contribute to the conversation), but when both of you have something to say, many times you may talk right over Racing and he may be in the middle of a thought or sentence. See how that could become an issue?

I honestly don't care anymore. I understand that it is a tech issue, but I'm not changing it anytime soon. You'll probably have to continue muting me from here on out.

What sort of lap times are you running just to see where I compare?

Easily solved .... I won't use a headset or mic ... I'll text everything I need to say :dopey: I dislike headsets anyway largely because as you say, everyone talks at the same time anyway and I can't hear anyone clearly as it is. Many times I ask questions and get no response so the value of headsets is lost on me if no hears or no one answers  I'm still going to mute Racing because as I have already stated, I don't want to, but I have to. I frankly don't understand why it is so hard to understand that some people don't want excessively loud heavy breathing drowning out all other audible sounds. It's no different than if some one has screaming kids or circular saws in the background, you'd mute that if you found it bothersome, right ?

Just let him do his thing guys. @ANFD, I just simply don't care about the issue at hand. I'm also tired of having to defend myself about it. I guess I can't impress everyone. If the mic is too far, you can't hear me; too close, you hear me better but you hear me breathe.

Well, @ANFD, you won't have to deal with me this Thursday because I'm taking a night off from HST. I'm not going to give up using my headset, and if you can't handle my problems with using it, you're justified in doing what you say you're doing.

You are the one who's taking this beyond where it should be ! There is no need for you to be defensive at all (see bolded text). No one is accusing you of anything, no one is critisizing you, no one should care if I mute 1 person in a room for legitimate reasons. You guys are too much for me. Please remove me from the HST roster, I won't be attending from now on period.

Well thanks GTPlanet for not giving me updates about getting posts on this thread.

All I can say is that my reason for not muting each other is valid.

@ANFD, if you choose not to race with HST, that is your choice. @RacingOtaku86 nobody said anything about you not being able to use your headset. I think you both need to take a deep breath and calm down. I was speaking in generalizations and going over basic rules and procedures as a reminder to all.

While I haven't been paying attention to any of these posts... I also haven't chosen a SUV/Truck for tonight yet either...

This should be interesting.

EDIT: Since I'm at work, anyone have a decent list of the vehicular options? Other than the obvious SST and SVT... neither of which are likely to be my choice... it's tough to tell what is a SUV/CrossOver from the car-list.

EDIT 2: Over/Under on Evoque drivers tonight?

No one's sharing their choice 'till tonight. xD If you don't want to be choosey about parts, the Infinity FX-45 is 454 PP, so all you'd have to do is add weight, but that'll affect the handling... lol If you can't tell what fits into the category, check the vehicle info. The Scion xA looks like a little hatchback, but is referred to as a "Mini SUV" in its description. There's also a certain Mitsubishi that looks like a station wagon, but is a crossover according to its description. I've tested about five cars, and the car I never wanted to use is the fastest. Oh well. No Diahatsu Midget/Move for me.

Ha, I found a Youtube video going through the car list and I've been spotting the ones that look at least reasonably promising. I'm hoping to find something out-there of Originality Points :P

I can't wait to see what's chosen for tonight! I'm still up in the air on 2 choices, it will be a last minute decision for me.
