Hybrid in GT4 ^_^, save game & code in the 1st post

LoL,suca i tried the save yesterday,it was crazy,the car is undrivable.It gets all jumpy,higher than a low rider lol.I'm gonna post vids tonight.

BTW,suca,i would liek to try that 10000cv car,could you rig a fiat punto with it?And if you don't mind,could you try to put 4wd on it?
Biut please,let it be the equiped car when you send the save.I'm almost sure that the car equiped always works,in every save.
 
I'll definitly post a video of this.I know i've been away from this forum,and i haven't posted things like i say,but i've been busy with a lot of stuff lately.Sorry ya'll for that.But today,i'll post videos of the Skyline and of this punto.

This is so stupid,2 days ago i ran the last save with the skyline you uploaded with no troubles.Today it doesn't work!What the Hell?
-I just found out why it doersn't work,i ran a free run in a track,and it locks up.But if i run a photo driev,it works without problems...

Anyway,i'm trying the 4wd punto,IT WORKS!!!YEAH!!!And this thing,let me tell you,IS A REAL BEAST!One slight touch on the accel,and it revs like a mad car!
 
sucahyo: I've got to say I pretty much love your hybrids :D
Especially those first ones you created, the V6 Honda Beat and 1000HP Lexus, they're the ultimate drift machines.

I think I could volunteer as a tester for pal saves, I've got the memory card exploit installed so different save formats won't trouble me, as I can upload the raw data to my memorycard or something

Check this out,midfield race way,first test of the car.Look at that,notice the throttle force i'm using and the revs it does lol.

Suca,this punto is fun,but completly undrivable lol.

For a next save,could you try to rig a C3 with a FR drivetrain and a supra engine for example,to see if the combination of both engine and drivetrain works?

EDIT:This car is so wild...It ate all the gas in 3 minutes and 30 seconds!I'm out of gas now!The race is over for me...but after reacjing 370MPH i'm more than happy with the car...those TVR's and NSX didn't knew what hit them lol
 
That video must be awesome, too bad I can't watch it :(. My connection is slow and I usually download the video before I can watch it. Can you upload again on downloadable file sharing PlayGuy? maybe www.yourfilehost.com again.

You shouldn't change downforce since I use 25.5/25.5 downforce. And I think you already notice that I use ultra long 1st gear :lol:.


I could use your help too Speed Drifter :). Would you interested in trying car with +40 toe? you feel how easy it is to control drift. I'll post the car later today.

Glad you can finally try the car opendriver19a, you should try the first hybrid I made, miata with Formula engine and tire :D.
 
Just tried that 4WD punto, I think it's one fun and quick mother :D
Too bad it wants to do wheelies all the time and at that point it becomes literally undriveable, I'll try playing around with downforce and other settings

And if possible, don't use 25.5 front downforce, it makes cars pretty twitchy at 400-500mph :D
I believe values around 15.0-20.0 should be enough, needs testing

Did you use any special tires on that Punto? I tried putting economy tires on it and it didn't make much difference..
or maybe the max downforce values are the reason for it?
 
I changed downforce settings on Punto as 25 front, 30 rear and now I'm actually able to turn the car.
It's possible the game doesn't think 255 as a max value but rather a zero value, so you should try a value of 254 next, it should work
I also tried values 30 front / 0 rear and with this setting the rear end starts lifting up from the ground :D
 
I wasn't even going really fast when it happened, around 200mph I think..
Extreme values produce extreme results when driving really fast

I managed to set up the 4wd Punto so I was able to drive about 570mph with it, it should be able to go faster but I ran out of gears :D
I had to buy custom suspension, use almost maximum spring stiffness and maximum toe out until it was stable enough
Though I wouldn't call it exactly stable because it still starts shaking really bad and goes all over the place if you don't hold the wheel for your life

Could you give us a very similar car for us PAL'ers? I'd loooove a 4WD Fiat Coupe Turbo with lots of power, if you could take that one as a testbed please?

EDIT: Say, it just hit me. I have a kinda wild theory about why some things corrupt the actual cars (not the garage, but so that it freezes while loading):
Perhaps there are more than one spot where it verifies/reads the wheel/engine/drivetrain data - another spot we need to edit so the game loads the car?

yep I used your gear settings because I thought they were already maxed out or something, but are they?
I'll try tweaking them a little before moving to the save with F1 tires
 
LoL,i'm gonna try to mess around with the suspension settings,i know little about it(i just tend to put my car as low as possible and with a low spring rate),my punto would top out at 370.Weird thing,it topped out when it entered the curves,because when going straight,it would top at 300....it looks like it has flat spots in the wheels,it's always jumping lol.

I was trying to do some video capturing myself but ran into various problems with quality.. I hope i'll get them solved tomorrow
I'm planning to use google video as my filehost, is that ok? I chose google because you can watch their video clips straight away and download the original file as well. I like that feature :)

If I am not forgotten, I should be using:
- move final drive to 5.500
- move auto to 25
- move final drive to 2.500

If this gear is not high enough I can change the final drive to an even lower value, like 1.000 or something.

Maybe that is the simpton of tire skipping, maybe I should use higher damper or lower "grip" next time.

I forget to change the gear then :ouch:.
It seems downforce simulation in GT4 is not as simple as I thought ....

Ok, here is my first encoded capture and looks like google video isn't suitable after all.. they offer only their own .gvp format video for downloading and the flash video is of poor quality :(

Don't mind that choppy sound, it's the problem i was talking about earlier and I didn't find any way to fix it
if anyone has any idea what could be causing it, feel free to tell me :)
my setup is Radeon 8500 All-in-wonder and Sound Blaster Live 5.1, no IRQ conflicts. CPU is fast enough to capture without dropping one single frame (1Ghz P3)

I forgot to mention that those are PAL. every pal save game will have PAL prefix on it's name.

It seems there is some convertion error maybe caused by PCSX2 or by PS2SaveBuilder, all car that works only changed at one spot.

I notice that in the last video you use auto 25? since the car only have 300mph max. Try my gear trick too.

I think it's your sound card, maybe you should try different audio driver or audio capture mode, or maybe use onboard ssound card to capture.

That thing's a beast! Even on the test-course, it starts wiggling from side to side - but it's great. Finally, an FR Citroen with enough power... But it needs an LSD, now.

EDIT: I can't believe I found this. Suca, when you go to the tuning-screen.. And select setup B or C, guess what happens? It reverts the engine! So I can choose freely between my old C3 without a Rwd conversion, and the Cupra3 :P

EDIT 2: The car has as much grip as a TVR Speed 12 on N1s with a Supercharger. Really good tyres are needed.

UPDATE: Another important thing: Please give it an Rwd LSD - the current one, for the Citroen, only limits slip on the front :P
