Nice finding đź‘Ť.

, too powerfull I gues. I ran out of option, what car have better tire than Formula? Did you test Punto with Formula tire?

Not yet (the Punto). Yet, if it was the Supra's drivetrain attached to the Citroen, that explains it: The GT4 Supra is notorious for extreme wheelspin.

Ok, Iwill try that tomorrow. In the mean time try this:
http://d.turboupload.com/d/1578777/pal_c3_f1.max.html

Formula car in dirt track.

Right Away!

(Which reminds me, the C3upra accepted Dirt tyres and a Supercharger, as well)

EDIT: Save won't load. Not just the car/track, but the whole save won't reach the main screen.

I see.

I see, it still has normal upgrade then.

I'll try different car. and try to post it today.

edit: I able to enter dirt track by naming The formula car as Ford Ka, although I don't know if we can play it for sure.

It turn out creating save game took longer than what I expect, here it is, formula car with dirt tire, hope this work...
http://d.turboupload.com/d/1578983/pal_dirt_f1.max.html

I'll try it out tonight.

So far, the Punto:

Twitchiness to the extreme, seems like GT3's "grip" setting was too high - won't move an inch.

Also... When entering the "Like the Wind", two things happen:

  1. I get awarded 7 A-spec points, which is odd for a 40,000BHP car weighing only 3 Tonnes
  2. I am speed-limited to 54/55MPH - no matter what gear, it won't accellerate more.
  3. And a third thing I forgot, but it happens everywhere: At standstill, the car has so much power than it's almost 100% of the time on the redline - and it makes alienish chirping sounds from the many hits of the fuel-cutoff.

LoL,wow,a lot of things happened tonight,i will try to try them all in the next hours.Suca,i dunno if you tricked the last punto F1 with your special gear box,but i didn't noticed anything. What did you changed?Anyway, the car is insane.INSANE.I slammed the turbo in there,it doubled the power(40000hp),and it empties its gas in less than one lap.And i have a video of a replay, the sound of it passing by is like an air plane...It's normal tough, the car is going 950KMH...
Gingiba, try this, stop your car,and press the brakes and the accel at the same time.Watch the rev and sound go nuts lol. That 55 problem may be because you're out of gas. When it runs out of gas,you are limited to drive at a speed of 50,55.Check the gas bar.

LoL,a C3 with a supra engine and drive train...I'm gonna try that now lol.Same for the dirty F1 lol.

BTW,the videos of the Punto F1 are coming soon.

EDIT:Here they are.Enjoy while they are still warm...

The 'ran out of gas' thing is very logical, actually... And mad at the same time.

It sounds alienish, like those lightsabers - it's too powerfull for the rev-limiter, so when redlining, it goes on to something in the 15kRPM area...

UPDATE: Yeah, it was the fuel. Survived two laps by not-flooring-it before the countdown - lack of drivetrain-resistance lets the engine reach monstrous RPMs, therefore burning out the fuel in less than 5 seconds. The tyres (Superhards) survived the first straight - by the end of the first turn both were flaming red... (Test Course, Like The Wind)

LoL,check my videos.The punto 05 one.In less than 40 seconds,the tank got empty lol.

BTW,suca, the Punto has 2300 KG.What happened to it to get so much weight?Or was it you to gain stability?

EDIT:I'm trying the C3 now, this thing is a beast. But you can get around of that swing from side to side problem with a rigity upgrade.

And gingiba, coincidently,i also noticed that thing of getting back to stock when the set ups are changed a couple of days ago.I forgot to tell it here lol.But i'm thinking about that now, that may mean we can have mutiple(well,3 lol) hybrid set ups for the same car, don't you think?
--
I'm trying this right now,the drive train doesn't change, only the engine. So,multiple engines for the same car lol. This is a cool discovery.

I'm gonna try to buy a turbo with the supra set up choosen.I'm thinking that if i buy it with the C3 set up,maybe the HP won't be the same as if you bought a supra one.
--
As i thought the HP is given according to the stock specs of the engine.

BTW,don't rig the car with a NA turbo if it doesn't allow that in the real car.It will crash the game.

LoL,this C3 is hard to drift with all that power...but when you rig it with the 250HP that the upgraded stock engine gives,it slides smoothly...If only i knew how to drift it as good as i did one year ago :(.

BTW,guys, don't you think that car feeling is better in Gt3 than it is in GT4?I wish we could import the cars of GT4 into GT3...It would be so cool.

A) In my findings, reverting to the stock engine also gives out the Fwd drivetrain... Mine just spun the fronts.

B) I feel the opposite. GT3 didn't let you actually feel what's going on. The feel of GT4, IMO, seems much more precise and detailed - you can see every reaction perfectly, unlike the 'floaty' feel I have when racing in GT3...

Weird,my c3 still has the RWD.What the hell?I'm gonna check it out after dinner.I had economic in the back, maybe that gave the car the oversteer feeling, but i've driven FF before,it didn't felt like one...

LoL,to me,it's GT4 that has the 'floaty feeling'.The cars are too stuck to the ground.Like, they had lots of understeering.I don't know,i can't explain, but try this.Pull a handbreak turn in GT3 and in GT4.The Gt3 has a heavier feeling.I dunno, but the cars feel so light in GT4.But,i dunno if GT3 is more realistic than GT4,i've never driven a car in real life(well, not enough to feel what its like to drive a car lol)

Well, GT4's Citroens handle pretty good, for Fwds. The Xsara (roadcar) handles without a bit of understeer... Yet, my C3 still was Fwd when I switched to "Setup B/C".

Understeering, because GT3 didn't calculate this enough. In GT3, it's too easy to initiate oversteer... And it should be. GT4 has a much more distinctive handling for each car. And it's no secret that GT4's handbrake is horroribly done - Doesn't even have use for drifting. I haven't driven a car yet, as well, but I do feel much more 'immersed' into the driving in GT4... Compared, GT3 almost seems arcadeish.

You were right, the C3 is FWD with other set ups.The economic tyres in the back and road on the front gave me the feeling of a FR lol.
But this is surely is a good sign for hybriding. We can have a single car with 3 diferent set ups!

Suca, could you try this please?Rig a car, like a primera or a clio (:)) with a 4wd and engine from other car.then, change set up to be,and change to a FR and other engine, then send it to us please.
---
Yeah,i agree,GT4's cars really differ in handling from each other, and i salute PD for that.I have the same pleasure with driving a F1 and a Rally Bluebird SSS.They're both great cars, and are very fun to drive. But i don't know why,i kinda feel some weirdness on the feeling...But i love both games, and whene~ver i feel like drifting,i play GT3,whenever i feel like driving tons of cars just for the sake of driving,i play GT4

Hey Suca! You never told us to try that awesome Benz Patent Motorwagen 1886! Shame, really, considering it's a fully-functional 160HP one-gear beast... What did you stick in it? An early Mazda engine? 9000RPM...

Nor did you tell us to try that Auto Union Streamliner with an extra wing...

LoL,you found that in the save?He uploaded that saves a while back. The benz is a rock to steer lol

The Punto only came this week, but I didn't have the time to check it out. Those three are the only working cars, though...

It's weird.I've been noticing that they are working in almost every save suca uploads.

Anyway, have you tried the Dirty F1 yet?

GT3's handbrake is much more useful since you can e-brake, swerve in, brake, then go about your drifting as normal. My Miata is awesome doing that! I also like how cars are much more easily controllled in GT3, in that a wheel spinning to quickly is still useful and that drifts are just so much more forgiving. BUT GT4 feels sooo much more direct and has a better sense of speed. Which is why I looked in this thread, and I have one thing to say to the hybridders: Thank you soo much. I'm about to test the 7 kilo Jazz and it seems really fun. Think I should add ballast since there seems to be traction problems?

I can't get the PS2 to recognize the file with the 9 kilo Jazz. I put it on my flash drive, uncrush to the memory card, and I just get the 'blank memory card' screen when I try to start up GT4. Am I missing a step or something? Sorry if this is an ubernoob question. Also, both the PS2 and GT4 disc are american.

đź‘Ť, wow so many video and picture! Thanks PlayGuy I'll be busy downloading for a while :D. I really like how punto flypast the camera . and when he jump , there should be jumping competition .

EA11R, try my NTSC save game, save game which has NTSC as prefix, I post many of it on my previous post. I think I will post the link of all my save game in the first page too next.

If you look at my previous game save, Gingiba, you can find many other working car too, although I lost track which ........

The "grip" setting I use is 128 from the default 90.

We can increase the weight the same way I increase horse power.

The C3 swing from side to side because I use +32 toe. I'll try ABC option next.

Which is probably the answer: I think that save is for the European version of GT4.

Back to the Gt3/GT4 discussion, see this video Gingiba

You see how that Type R oversteers?I can't do that in GT4

I know you can't, but that's another thing: GT3 didn't calculate over- and understeer correctly, resulting in an overall very balanced, yet very arcade-ish feel compared to GT4. GT4 got the understeer pretty spot-on, yet it forgot to compensate by re-calculating oversteer correctly. Therefore, it's much harder to 'throw' cars around, especially FF and 4WD cars.

Example: GT3's B-8 test includes a Skyline R32 on Trial Mountain. I went through hell to gold it, simply because the car went to oversteer too soon. Same with B-5 (Civic TypeR @ GVS)... Yet in GT4, most of the challenge in the Fwd/4wd tests it avoiding the understeer rather than the oversteer.

LoL,did you check the F1 menu video? We can put hubcaps and a wing on it lol.

I resolved the c3 problem reforcing the chassis. It worked pretty good.

LoL,it was one hell of a trick,a full 360 lol.

Thanks Speed Drifter, I will watch your video after I download it, still queueing Playguy's video at the moment. Drifting in test course .

Still downloading the F1 video, Playguy, it would be interesting :).

About the difference between GT3 and GT4, I think it comes from different tire simulation property, since a slight change in tire simulation can result in very different handling. I see a lot of car simulation developer mention tire simulation is the hardest part to simulate.

I think I'll try to make Supersonic Quattro next time. Let see if GT4 simulate sonic boom .

If you want to jump straight to the action here's two good but short clips of those better drifts i managed to pull off :D

that earlier clip I uploaded on google video should work now, there is a blue download button on the right side if you don't want to watch the flash version (google should be faster than yourfilehost.com)

Thanks Speed Drifter :).

Here is car for my supersonic quattro project, yes I use LeMans version :). For gearing I use a bit lower final drive. Normal auto 25 would make 300mph car, reducing final drive will make it 600mph, to make supersonic car I have to make the final drive much lower.
http://d.turboupload.com/d/1584883/pal_sonic_quattro.max.html

Setup A have 100,000 hp, 0.637 final drive.
setup B have 25,000 hp and wing, 1.149 final drive.
Setup C have 6500 hp and F1 tire, 1.661 final drive.

I use high damper value this time. Only setup B has 128 grip, the other has the default 75. Setup A has 255 downforce too.

So, ABC option really works :).

hw about a Nissan Silvia K's Aero '94
with: AWD
RB26det
r2 tires
Invisible wing if possible
this would be cool, though i dont have anything but a codebreaker.
