I golded all Track Experiences!

I finally golded all tracks today, after many days of frustration. I left a semi-easy track for last, so it would be a breeze. Well, I just wanted to brag a bit, because, man, was it tough! There were a few tracks that I played a million times! I have also golded all licenses (fairly easy except a couple of ones PLUS all the drift ones) and all the missions - except the endurance ones that I am going to start sometime soon.

I started with the Nurbrurgring track experience, which was not THAT tough - I started with that because I had seen another thread that not many people are going to gold it, so I went for it - golded it the same day after just a few attempts, probably because I've played it so many times.

Toughest ones for me were the following - in descending order of difficulty for me:
  • Catalunya Track: omg, that Lambo was really tough to handle, I played this track more than any other to gold it. And since I considered it an easy track this was really unexpected. Definitely I golded it out of pure luck, and I hated it in the process.
  • Laguna Seca: oh my god, golded the individual sectors with ease, so after reading another thread that it was someone Nemesis, I thought to myself, what is it all about?... until I played something like 200 times the whole track. One of the times I only lost for like .003 of a second. Imagine that!
  • Tokyo Expressway - both directions with the BMW: This was a nightmare - my ghost wasn't helping me either because I did a really quick start so I was mostly disappointed by my ghost until I reached that twisty S that you need to pass with 5th.. both directions were hell.
  • Lake Maggiore with the 4C: I must have played it at least 100 times till I golded it. That S and the last turn were really tough to crack!

Other than that, I've had a few issues with the dirt tracks; on the other hand, tracks I would consider tough that I golded fairly easy were Spa, Monza. St.Croix, I took after an hour of attempts, although I was not expecting to gold it that easily.

So, how about you guys? What do you think? Any track that you are having difficulty to master?

First of all, congrats! Enjoy those tons of credits. That said, I think there’ll be more circuit experiences to come, as more courses get added.

On the one hand.. Congratulations to you that you did everything.

But we have at least 2, I think even more like 3 topics that only deal with CE, that would have fit in there very well, another topic is not really necessary in my opinion.
In my opinion, it doesn't matter whether it's about someone who has everything ready and wants to describe their impressions, or someone who's just starting out and has general problems with driving.

It is important that you have fun recognizing where your own limits are and then maybe try to tear down these limits and see that there is still sooo much time to gain behind it.

I haven't finished everything yet, simply because I haven't always found my optimum on routes that I like to drive, or I'm simply getting better from day to day or week to week and can therefore keep improving my times there. As long as I can still optimize my times with relatively manageable effort, I don't see any need to finish all the other routes. ( And yes, it spurs me on when one of my friends is faster on a track or sector ;P )

What % of people in this GT PLanet Forum are really good enough to Gold many/most of these Circuit Experiences?

I have a smattering of gold sectors but I find it quite hard. Then again, I haven't spent huge amounts of time on them. Haven't wanted to retard my credit farming/earning progress by devoting too much time to the CE's.

Maybe I just need to invest more time

It's not that hard imo, I'm not a top driver, not a shaddy one either, I usually hover in the middle of the A/S drivers and it wasnt really difficult, some I had to retry a few times but that's okay, I dont mind working a bit and it makes you understand where you actually loose time if you plan on being competitive online. I believe CE made me a better driver and help me learn the tracks I didnt remember or didnt drive on for a while.

I'm "only" a B driver, but I have gold on the routes I've wanted to do so far... And as far as I know, all the "difficult" routes mentioned so far are included.

Need to have some devoted sessions, I think! I prefer racing but CE will make me better and also the earnings are good so really I shouldn't be making excuses!

Congrats!

I only have Leman's 1 lap attack left to gold, currently 0.2 seconds too slow..

Other than Lemans on a controller, the others weren't too bad, the Tokyo tracks were the most annoying for me, but I don't like those tracks to begin with. CE were much harder than the original missions and licenses.

Other than Lemans, I still have 7 of the new 1hr missions left to do.

I consider myself to be a relatively good driver - at least a good sim driver - but also, regarding this matter I am not really humble, so... :) Haven't really done any online racing yet, because I get too anxious and nervous in fear of missing out... I guess this is for a different topic, but I am not really sure if you can participate in Sport mode without PS Plus, which I am not subscribed to.

This aside, I think you definitely need to spend a lot of time but you also need an inifinite amount of luck. As xMAXIx79, the main focus is improvement, and indeed, there were quite a few times were I would change my racing line to reach the goal (I don't use the GT Racing line). Also, depending on the vehicle and how fast it changes gear you should evaluate whether you need to gear down before a turn, or keep the same one.

Yep, Lemans was a tough one as well. I was losing a lot of time in the last sector, but if you see the showcase video it helps a lot, you can take all turns in 6th gear but you must time them right. Good luck!

You’re downplaying how few people are mid A level. That’s top percentile ranking if GTS is anything to go by.

Congratulations! I did all of them, except Nordscheife. The way that the M6 GT3 is setup is just terrible.

The Catalunya CE was very challenging, it's was like learning a new game simulation engine, the way the car bahaves is completely different from anything else. But it was great, completing that challenge was a great learning experience.

Well done!

I finally got gold on Le Mans, after thinking that I would almost never get gold, but did so anyway. Therefore this means, I've conquered every track in GT7 released so far, and on a controller. That's not to say that they're easy though, as there were quite a lot besides Le Mans that have really frustrated me, such as (in order of difficulty):

  1. Nurburgring Nordschleife
  2. Circuit de Sainte-Croix
  3. Mount Panorama
  4. High Speed Ring
  5. WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca
  6. Autopolis
  7. Colorado Springs
  8. Willow Springs
  9. Tokyo Expressway

Bring on Road Atlanta, Apricot Hill, or any other future circuits in later updates.

Personally thought Catalunya, with the exception of the last sector, wasn't that bad. While we're on the subject of Catalunya's last sector, I also inadvertently found out that the track limits on it are quite wonky - if you stick to the old layout for the penultimate corner and avoid hitting the barriers, the game doesn't register it as a track limits breach.

I genuinely enjoyed the challenge element of golding all of the circuit experiences - I found these parts irritating (and most others agree):
  • Suzuka Sector 1
  • Catalunya Sector 3
  • Nürburgring Sector 2 and Full Lap (Obviously!!)
  • Fisherman’s Ranch Full Lap
  • Circuit de la Sarthe Sector 5 and Full Lap
  • Laguna Seca Full Lap
  • Deep Forest Sector 2
  • Northern Isle Speedway (Harder than it looks as the car has NO grip whatsoever!!)
  • Sardegna Circuit Sector 1 (Took me forever)
  • Sardegna Windmills Full Lap (Those irritating jumps at the end)
  • Circuit de Sainte-Croix Sector 2 and Sector 3 (Sector 3 stumped me for a while)

There were some other annoying parts but these stood out for me.

I'm an average D/C driver and I golden High Speed ring fairly easily and Brands Hatch. Golden Le Mans sectors too but just cannot get over the line in time for gold.

Typically for me I'll Bronze them easily, Silver on tracks I know but gold required a good 10 attempts minimum

For me the hardest events of all Circuit Experiences are, in orders from hardest to least hardest:

1. Le Mans Sector 3
2. Colorado Springs - Lake Full Lap (those jumps... those goddamn jumps...)
3. Autopolis Last Sector
4. Nurburgring Sector 1
5. Catalunya Full Lap (screw that Lambo... seriously...)
6. Circuit de Sainte-Croix Sector 3
7. Northern Isle Speedway (it takes a lot of getting used to that car... 0 grip whatsoever... don't full throttle on the corners... ever)
8. Nurburgring Full Lap (I did gold on first finished lap by like half a second and with mistakes, my problem was just finishing the lap while pushing on the attempts before, which I realized I didn't need to at all...)

^These are the ones that took me the most attempts to gold. But overall, they weren't "hard" by any means. From 1 to 10, I would say they were 6, or 7 at most.

Fisherman's Ranch would've been hell if PD had put a more demanding time for both the sectors and the full lap, but the times were very doable. Even with some jumps clearly failed or slowed down a lot, I managed to get gold very quickly.

As for my driver rating, I'm A rank and don't plan to go higher as I don't care much about Sport Mode, with the trophy only being to finish 50 races, I won't even waste time qualifying and just start from the back on all A or B daily races. I was driving pretty casually in GT Sport just to get the number of race wins, poles and races finished. A+ rank is well within my reach if I take seriously.

Congrats OP. I found the difficulty to be pretty good (after they patched the tire issues in rally and Le Mans). Good stuff, except I finished them all like two days before they upped the payouts....womp womp.

If you haven't already, simply load up the intro screen for any segment and back out (you don't even have to go onto the track), and you'll get the upped payout(s) for that track.

Gongrats. Something I will never achieve.

I recently switched to a wheel and I struggle a lot to win even silver times.

This is completely normal and (as long as the steering wheel is OK with the current firmware) will soon and then they can be faster. You have to be much more sensitive and anticipatory with the steering wheel.

It takes days, weeks, months until you are at your personal optimal level. Your muscles in your arms and feet/legs have to get used to it first.

You will achieve it and using a wheel is certainly easier than with a controller - you just to get used to it.

I got my first steering wheel on ps3 and played hundreds of hours, not only gt but other games as well. There’s a turning point when you think you are not improving at all, but, suddenly everything falls in place and you will find easier what you thought impossible.

I am absolutely certain that sim racing improved my real life driving skills as well. One particular time it saved me when driving in snow that I just corrected it’s way by reflex.
