Interesting that the spec's are the same, makes me glad 'cause it means you all had a great time with them last season. We have new slightly altered spec's (1.1) you can try out if you'd like. Otherwise I'm sure it'll be good as is.
But I'm interested in getting a summary from Mr. Andre and the drivers on what their conclusion was of the performance of the field of cars through out the season - weak points, strong points, suggestions, it'd be great to read.
Hope you all have another awesome season, Erik runs the best dedicated GT500 series out there.
Cheers.
Hello Eddie, the specs did in my opinion favor the NSX on the straight and when we used the two softer compound it made it a bit to powerful. Still we didn't have any dominance from it since its used the tyres to quick with the very powerful torque. Some managed it better than others, but like we all know the NSX is a handful to be consistent in.
Also the Lexus was really hard to keep up with in a GT-R out of corners, the torque and grip of the car really was enough to get a good lead out of corners and that made it hard to overtake on most tracks.
The 30kg is staying, it make the ballast system way better as the GT-R and the Lexus handle success ballast way better than the NSX.
All in all we have discussed it and we are now limiting tyres to racing hard as medium and soft wasn't the best with these specs in my opinion. But we try the specs one more time. It' really isn't fair to judge the specs as some of those driver in the NSX and Lexus might have had a really well worked out setup, but from a GT-R drivers view it seemed a bit to powerful on the two softer compound.
And thanks a lot for saying I or we run the best GT500 series out there, it really means a lot.
Well you've got that pretty much right. The GT-R's not the fastest in the corners per se, just more stable feeling and a bit more on the loose side, that's why we threw 30kg of weight on them, same for the SC's although they've got the Turbo to work with.
All of the NSX's are pretty much handfuls in the corners of course.
But it did seem pretty close, I kept an eye on the thread, DA also used PURE spec's and they seemed to have slightly different results between them since they mostly races on R3's. The NSX really dominated there because the softs gave the drivers a lot more confidence. Could even just be a mental thing.
The SC's definitely my flavor though, I regret picking the Calsonic in JGTS when I did so well with the Denso in WSGTC 2. But it just suits my driving style more.
But yeah, looking over the tracklist real quick, it's skewed toward NSX dominance. Too many straight line cars. I'd suggest you lower the HP on the NSX's by a step for it to not be so drastic. Track balance is key, so either you alter the specs or replace a couple faster tracks with twistier ones
I have looked into the track list myself and with the experience from season 3 it was only Monza witch really was a NSX dominated track, rest of the tracks have a sector or two that turns a lot more than some chicanes. Laguna Seca clearly isn't the best for the NSX so that's balance out Monza.
Also the car specs make for a more interesting car selection as all the cars are very competitive and we had GT-R dominance in the car selection through season 1 and 2. Now you really have to take the GT-R to the limit to stay competitive throughout the season. Looking at IMMORTALPILOTs driving it really show it still pretty much competitive.
I think the Racing Hard will balance the specs a bit compared to medium witch was our prime tyre and soft as a option tyre in season 3.
