ICGTC Season 4 - Ended

Yeah for sure, I love running these cars with R1s, it just feels right.

Thanks for the kind replies, here's to the series getting better and better

I feel that the NSX isn't as dominant with the harder tyre in a straight line, but that's only after some practise on Spa though.

I intend to practise quite a lot this pre-season so that I can figure out how the hards work with the NSX before the season starts this time.

Have to say that I'm not a big fan of Autumn Ring though, too slow and diffiult to overtake imo, not suited to SuperGT. I think Grand Valley is a FAR better choice. I'm definitely calling for GVS to be brought back in this season.

I also think we should start with Fuji F again this season, and bring back Le Sarthe as well as GVS and Endurance Races too ;)

Think I'm going to test the Lexus again this preseason too, just because I can.

Some tracks were definetely NSX tracks like Monza and Tokyo , but when ballast was involved it did make the races a bit more fair .

I think with the new ballast system we have this season the field should be even closer than last season and not to forget everyone on racing hards .

I think also this season taking care of the tires will play a big role in the races , I think .

I would like to see Grand Valley to return but I wouldn't like to see Le Sarthe return , I think its too long like Nurb 24 and the races are more like time trials than actual races .

I think after we test Autumn Ring this weekend we will know where we stand on it .

I have to agree that GVS seems like a better track to replace Rome, but we never actually tried Autumn Ring and it will be vote after both pre season races have finished. I do have to say how ever that SuperGT isn't all about having full trottle for 1 hour. So a track that is "slow" like this really gives a change in the challenge. And in my opinion more correct to the SuperGT brand than lets say SPA or even worse La Sarthe

La Sarthe is just to long, and the speed of my GT-R compared to the NSX here would make me don't even start the race. Its so much about top speed and when I can't pass a NSX even when getting perfect slipstream it would just be to unbalanced. It was even unbalanced when the spec were stock.. GT-R was 30kg lighter and the NSX had far less torque and BHP. Now it wouldn't be a race. It would be like multi class racing.. atleast should be like it.

Fuji will be the season start. The list you see in the OP is ordered alphabetically and not in the order it will play out. I planned endurance races on Monza, Nurburgring and maybe on Indianapolis. Suzuka, Monza and Spa will be rain races. But Monza will have weather on 0% and changeability to 2 so it most likely be a dry race. But still have the "unknown" factor to it.
Suzuka will have weahter 25% and changeability to 4 and Spa also have 25% with change on 6 as weather normally isn't very stable on this track in the real world ;)

At least that's the plan.

Anyone practicing today ?

All of what you said sounds good Erik

No, unfortunately, I'll probably never be able to practice on the weekdays. I get on, but not at the times you do. For the race I'll probably be running the Yellowhat Nissan, it's the only one I feel comfortable in :scared:. The Honda's really hard to control.

On raceday we are usually online most of the day practicing before the race , I look forward to seeing most of you new drivers this Saturday

Don't expect anything from me, I'm slow, real slow.

Practice makes perfect , just take your time and you will improve .

Some of us can give you a few tips whenever we do meet up in the lounge .

Do you have the same timezone as New Delhi? That would mean our race for you is 01:30 it seems.

And we plan a few endurance races that will be 2 hours with qualify and staged entry. Hope you stay awake mate!

It's okay, considering it's a Saturday. I assume most of the races would take around 2 hours (enduros being an exception) so 3:30 AM is good with me. I'll try to stay awake,

I am breaking in some cars now, I want to test the Raybrig and the Denso. maybe also the EPSON, since the specs are a bit diffrent, i wonder how it drives.

i just love to drive a NSX, I am good whit a GTR but find it sometimes a bit boring to drive it. Also i am going to test the Denso becaus i like the colors of the rims. :dunce:

Glad you like it JoeTruckV8, it's been something we have talked about during the last half of season 3 really. But when I think back on it a lot of that talk have been going on when we meet up on Teamspeak. You guys should really consider joining Teamspeak and chat with the rest of us. During practice I have shared and received other sharing their thoughts on what we can do to make this series even better.

Everyone is welcome to listen in on C-Falcon complain about the loss of grip he experience during the races and of course more serious talk. We have lots of fun on teamspeak and I really think the once not there are losing out on half of whats going on in this championship.

And you don't need a mic to be on here, it's also possibility to type into our channel. During the races it might be lost as people have to read it, but I try to follow the chat during warmup and of course during the staged entry.

I just have a question about the staged entry, I assume this is how it goes. Before qualy we all go tot the track (but stay in the pits), then the steward goes over our cars to check the weight and BHP. If I'm wrong could someone inform me.

We all meet up in the ICGTC lounge and warm up, someone pretty early and someone are always last minute, but we have to be in the ICGTC lounge 10 minutes before the race.
I then count everyone here and I will then limit the race lobby to this amount.

When entering the race lobby you are free to enter the track and roam around the track if your early, but when I will start the staged entry I put a weight limit to the room so no one can stay on track.

You will then be forced back into the lobby.

I then limit the room to first the Nissan.. room limit is weight 1130kg then everyone with a Nissan enter the track. After everyone with the nissan have been on track you will have to go back to the lobby. But at this stage you are not allowed to go into settings.
then I test the Lexus cars and honda cars
After that I will test the guys with success ballast.
When I'm done I will set the room limit to off and reset the track. When track is reset and you see Skengdigi type qualify started you are free to go onto the track and the qualify have started.
You are still not allowed to go into settings and everyone watch for everyone on this one so no need to go into settings as we just have to re test your car and it will only delay the process.

Thanks a lot for clearing that up, but I have some bad news. I can't attend this pre-season race, I'm really really sorry but some last minute stuff came up. Basically I'll be staying over at a friends on Saturday to work on a project. Again, I'm really sorry, but I'll definitely make the Grand Vally Speedway one.

Sounds good Gorsad we will see you next weekend .

You can check the ICGTC lounge in the week , sometimes we are on earlier in the day , it would be a bit better hours for you I think . You can join us for practice .

The only reason why I never join team speak is because its unrealistic to be talking to other drivers while you're racing them. I had a guy once tell me that he's diving on me on the next turn, and to leave room for him only my crew chief is supposed to be telling me what to do in mid racing'

Good thing with Teamspeak is that if you like you can MUTE it, but before races and after races we can have a little chat and also inform about things. And GT5 isn't real anyway and if you have a crew chief you have way bad priorities ;)

EDIT:
And if someone on teamspeak tell you he will dive you it will be a real easy job for the stewards after the race to check it out as all the stewards are on teamspeak. It's not a public lobby and neither is the teamspeak.

I find teamspeak helpful when some of us have accidents and go off and its always good to hear falcon say he has hit the cliff :)

I tried 3 diffrent cars today, and no car gave me a satisfied feeling. it could be becaus of the track.

I tried the Lexus denso, it feels very light and did my fastest lap whit it today 1:13 flat. On the other hand i not really know how to tune it. i can't master my front tyres

then i tried the NSX raybrig, It felt very heavy and i like that. But it isn't really the track for this car, i am a second slower whit it. But my tyrewear is awesome.

Then i tried my Motul again. It feels so easy to drive compared to the Denso and raybrig. But ofcourse i really know how to drive this thing since i drove whit it more than 20 weeks. I was a bit slower whit it, but i didn't drive to much around whit this thing. I know how it works.

still don't know what to use next season...

When ProPersian is returning in august we wont have many races left I guess. So I really hope we have a "GREAT" season without him ;)

He will of course be missed, but now we have to focus on other things ;) all the new guys that seem to have very good pace. Seen both djgonzales and doc555evosti in our lounge over the last couple of days. And they have some nice skills. Looking forward to race with them as well as everyone else of course.

And IMMORTALPILOT.. I see you dominated the f1 time trail.. insane time you got there!! To bad I can't really compete as my t500RS is way off in the F1 cars.. But 8 seconds behind you is just sick.

My next queston will be pit stradegy, I'm not sure to do the 4 stopper at 13 laps per stint, or the 3 stopper at 17 laps per stint?

I guess that depends on your setup and driving style, we might see both.. but 13 laps per stint will give 4 stints meaning a 3 stopper and 17 will be a two stopper ;)

Thanks mate yes the Ferrari F1 Cars are very good for me.
I can drive a bit faster.
Very sad with the t500RS i have thought to buy it the T500F1 Wheel but all say its not good for f1 cars because you must steer to much.
