It was in reply to your question about Dizzie Rascal.
Dizzee Rascal

By the way for all those not in the know Dizzee Rascal comes from the Bow estate (Tower Hamlets).

He socialises in Hackney and Bow and apparently wears his trousers ridiculously low according to the song.

Im sorry you feel that way but I like rap and if everyone else is blasting it out s you say they most like it aswell. Just because you dont like it you dont need to say its crap. I dont listen to grunge rock or emo or whatever theyre called nowadays but I dont go around cussing peoples taste.
I don't listen to emo/grunge rock - I have no idea what that is. 90% of what I do listen to is soundtrack-type stuff, with no lyrics. Stuff you can't even find on the radio most of the time. I don't decry rap because it's the "cool" thing to do.

You want an example of what I do listen to? http://www.edgen.com - go listen, and tell me it's trendy.

And then theres boys that wear makeup and nail varnish. Does that say they arent going by any trend but rebelling against the government by wearing che guevera T-shirts etc when yet they have fallen into a trend and someone out there is profiting off them

Indeed, and that's another fad that I think is ridiculous - even more so than the "gangsta" style. It's just not as widespread yet.

Why do you care? If you actually where black Id think you would understand.

No, I'm not black. But I still think it's retarted to say "N1ggah," when loads of people suffered and died in the path of civil rights so that you wouldn't have to hear people call you that and laugh. Remember this guy?

If they want to watch it let them. Its not hurting anyone. Anything new thats become popular quickly or is the most popular will be seen as a trend. If it stands out and theres a few people doing it it will be labelled as a trend. Most things start off as a trend. Your life is a trend and everyone here has fallen into some sort of trend even duke.

I didn't say anime was hurting anyone. I said it was an annoying and useless trend that I have to put with everyday I turn on the computer.

Why is it ghetto?

Ricing is ghetto (by which I mean stupid) because it is a waste of money and other people's eyesight. 99% of the folks here at GTP will agree with me when I say that it a useless activity and an eyesore. Is it trendy to hate ricers? Maybe, but that's not why I dislike them. I like tuners, but not ricers.

Silver ring thing is one of the stupidest trends going.

I mean comeon cant you see that its just another money making scheme by someone.

I could go into more detail as in why its stupid but I have got the talent of words to but it into a smart and organised paragraph.

Y_W, the whole point of this thread is for people to mention trends that annoy them. So there's no need to get your panties in a bunch because most of your 'lifestyle' happens to fall on someone else's 'annoying trend' list.

LOL dont worry about me Im not annoyed. Maybe its just my style of writing that makes it seem like that  Sometimes people think im flaming them when infact I never do.

However my lifestyle constitutes of my trousers around my waist and my vocabulary can easily stretch to "ghetto" if I wish to do so but I know when and when not to use it. If im with my friends and we messing around we may use it to make fun of another but I prefer to seen upon as a intellect :sly:

Another trend is that of dog tags. Me and my friends started wearing them and then a couple months later everyone was so we stopped.

Has anyone seen those 'Rice Tickets'? Pretty funny stuff... http://www.ricecop.com/tickets.php?PHPSESSID=e5291da429e59ec89f5a901a47e75631

"Never flamed"...right.

Just ask yourself one question: Are you a chav or a liar?

Bonus points if you're both!

That's been a trend for decades.

Hip hop trend. It's ugly. Pants down to your knees....urghh :yuck:
Don't forget the knee-length T-shirt. Then you can walk around with one hand under it all day like Napoleon, so that it lifts up to show off your rock-hard abs and 6 inches of your best boxer shorts.

I forgot about you but what I do know is that many of you people mention chavs but dont fully understand what one is. There are websites dedicated to chavs and they have pictured examples. Go look them up.

Yeah but who are the ones saying it now and no ones laughing. Im not saying your wrong as your right in a way. The current use of the word "n1gga" will just go down in history and another one of those hard to explain trends/word.

As for rap being crap rap music contributed a whole lot more to shaping society today than any other music form.

Not where I live. Another trend now is the jesus beads. Or cathlolic beads.
It's been a trend since the 80's at least, people were wearing dog tag's when I was a kid, they still do but not as much now. I've seen it in the UK almost everywhere I've been. Not saying they do where you live, but if you didn't know it was a huge trend and had been for so long you were out of touch.

Chav's can be incredibly annoying, not as bad here as they are in a lot of other places mind. We've got scallies all over the place, I see them all the time, especially in Chorlton when I go to Rileys to play snooker. They're always hanging out just by the club, hardly ever see any go in but they group outside it all the time.

Yeah, 10 year old kids now know the proper technique for drive bys! This will come in handy in the current decline of society today. Yes it shaped society, but for the worse.

Rosarys? They've been around for hundreds of years.

I dont know any 10 year old kid that will listen to music on their own accord let alone rap music.

But your too young to now what im talking about. Look up public enemy number one or even recently tupac.

Tupac although had alot of swear word and violence his songs raised awareness. You have to be ignorant to not notice that after listening to a couple of his songs.

I see bus loads (literally) of school kids that listen to rap from the age of 11 and up, they have mouths filthier than my asshole and get kicks trying to act ard. They're morons, I think they;re pathetic. I see a few people from the LSC and Gooch gangs, they're morons too, admittedly morons with a lot of backup that could have me done in if I said that to their face, but still morons. Why you'd spend you youth going around acting like they do is beyond me, the saddest part is, some of them still do when they get older and start families and the kids are assholes too.

I think the mullet is one of the worst trends ever...

the "fear the mullet" T-shirts are stupidly funny, though

Well what about common or talib kwali. Kanye west springs to mind also. Dont know if you guys have listened to kanyes latest album but the skits inbetween tracks are pure genius. They should play it to disadvantaged kids.

As for the rest of the current rappers theyre all there to make money. They are not necessarily bad people but its all a marketing game like everything else. Some organisations might seem like theyre doing stuff thats helping the world out but I can assure you theyre not doing it out of the kidness of their hearts.

Mosh pits are another stupid trend. Why do it. And I cant stand people who go to a club and then just jump up and down on the spot or twirl their head around.

My sister has that, I'll go copy it now.
50 Cent is the one I'm targeting since he has no talent but since he got shot in the face, they gave him a recording contract.

Disclaimer: If you disagree with anything I say, you are wrong. This may be my opinion, but I'm always right. Poster makes no claims as to the correctness of this content, and these views are in no way the views of Gran Turismo Planet, it's staff, so on and so forth. If you're offended by any of the following - Get bent, it means no harm to anyone.

Drifting: I know, it's a motorsport. I even like drifting. But the trend of buying economy cars that're as old as I am for $5,000~ because it's the "in" thing to have is stupid. I hate the trend, and I don't mean the fact that it's mainstream. Mainstream is not bad (see next), I mean the trend of retards who are planting cars into curbs, trees, and poles, and increasing police awareness on local hangouts. Thanks, guys - The real racers appreciate your contribution to our society.

Anti-Mainstream: This is stupid. I hate you all for hating mainstream, and I hope that the trend of hating the anti-mainstream people becomes mainstream just to agitate you people even more.

Anti-Bush: HE WON. TWICE. GET OVER IT. STOP SAYING THAT HE'S BAD BECAUSE ALL OF YOUR FRIENDS ARE. This trend is nearly six years old and I still have to put up with it. The only time anyone should jump on an anti-bush bandwagon is when it comes to women...

Honda Owners: I hate these people. Hondas are not god's gift to race cars. Honda's saviour sports car routinely gets it's ass handed to it by my granny mover, and their economy cars are owned by semi-retarded teenagers who associate speed with loud, buzzing, burbling, broken-manifold-sounding exhausts. After being handed their asses with all the trimming, they like to give you the excuse that "they weren't racing". Nice, so you got up next to me and dropped second at 30 twice because you just enjoy tearing up your car? And it's not just Honda owners, Mustang, Focus, 240SX, and Miata owners are at fault here too. I suppose this could be called the Fast & Furious culture, but these guys don't have the common sense to know that real speed is indicated by fireballs exiting the tailpipe...
I know that not all Hondas are slow. I have a friend with a 450whp turbocharged CRX that would hand my car it's ass if he launched in 4th. Read the disclaimer.

Techno: You're not a 13 year old Asian girl. You're a 40 year old American man who still lives in his mom's basement. You do not need to listen to techno, because it sucks. The same goes for all of those styles of music that starts with T. They all suck, and you can't argue. I'd like to give everyone who listens to techno epilepsy for a day, it would take care of the problem in a few hours.

V8's: What, are you kidding? V8's rule. God invented turbochargers to give everything else a chance.

I have to contest. 50 cent is a genius. Pure marketing genius. On an artistic level the reason why his music is so good after he got shot (to the likes of my ears anyway) is because Dr.Dre is the person behind the beats. DR.Dre is another genius and he will go down as a legend. He turns rubbish people into the hottest thing on the block. Just look at the game he hardly has any talent at all.

50 cent however is good at doing what he wants. His music makes people want to dance but also admittedly want to flip out aswell. When I work out at the gym and as im putting heavier weights on and I start to struggle I put on some 50 cent to give me a boost. Such as "If I cant do it".

Biggie is a legen because of his rhyming skills. Not his content or speed but purely on his flow.

But overall rap and hip hop has lately been rubbish. RnB on the other hand is still quiet strong although its lacking female artists. Of late the emphasis seems to have come of the voice but more on looks and the beats behind it a bit like pop music. But luckily the likes of usher ginuwine john legend etc the market is still holding strong.

Hey, different strokes for different folks. You see 50 as a genius I see him as lucky.

I'm ripping Late Registration just because of you :sly: .

But I prefer stuff like Kano.

I think you're using the term "genius" a bit liberally. There is a lot of entertainment that I enjoy. I like watching Peyton Manning kick a*s on the football field, but I wouldn't call him a genius. I like listening to Hanz Zimmer, E.S. Posthumus, and Radiohead, but I wouldn't call any of them geniuses either. I like watching BattleStar Galactica and The Apprentice, but I don't see any geniuses invovled with those shows either.

There are geniuses among us. Some of them artistic geniuses. Some of them musical geniuses. Some of them mathemtical... but I don't think Dr. Dre or 50 cent is among any of them.

Unfortunately, I don't think that todays mainstream rap is a 'trend'; unfortunately, I think its here to stay... which is really, really sad. :banghead:

Yeah I ripped the CD from my sister. I didnt like Kanye West till I heard the skits.

I also love kano. He has more talent than 99% of the american rappers.

I like watching the apprentice boston legal and listen to loads of different music spanning from blues to UK garage.... There have been loads of musical geniuses and for this certain era of hip hop and rap 50 cent is a genius.

A marketing genius. With a bit of help from eminem and Dr.Dre they have managed to single handly ruin one record company and account for over 50% of a genres sales. He is more of a buisness man than an artist and so hes a genuis. The odds from when he was born where stacked againt the man to reach the age of 21 let alone one of the most powerful men in music today. i dont call people geniuses often but I give props where props are due. Everywher you go people know 50 cent and that must say something as I dont think there are any other young current artist that can boast that. The man made £60 million in one year without selling one record. That speaks for itself.
