ilikewaffles11's Toyotas

If you want to go full ghetto/cheapo, do what I did. Get a suction cup holder for your cell phone, a wide angle clip on lens, and stick it somewhere. Duct tape optional. I'd do one on the outside but for fear of my only phone/camera getting lost/broken, I haven't done it yet . Much cheaper than GoPro, results may vary.

Dude, go for it.

I think I'm gonna. Don't know when exactly though. Can't entirely justify making a $300 purchase plus however much the accessories cost just to make a video of me driving in the Fall at the moment.

Plus I've not got a clue how to use it or how to upload videos to YouTube. But I dunno, maybe I'll just get it on a whim. If not there's always next year. :P

I would do that but as you said, I don't really want my phone getting broken.

My gopro - a Hero3, that I ordered about two days before the new model came out :grumpy: - costed $200, plus a head mount that was like twenty bucks. Uploading videos to Youtube is a pain in the ass at first, but you eventually figure it out (there's not much that needs doing). The biggest issue is that it takes several hours to upload, and that there's a chance you might not even get to have audio in your video if you were listening to the radio and happened to play the wrong copyrighted song.

Oh that's not that bad. I would want a mount that I could put on like my hood and record it like that. Though a head mount would also be cool... Dunno I guess $200 plus a mount isn't really that much in the grand scheme of things.

I'm not that tech savvy, but I'm sure I could figure it out. I would also turn the radio off just for that reason.

Today was the last Cars and Coffee of the year. Was a really great turnout! To bad it's the last one of the year. :(

For once, my dad left early enough that we could get spots together. Had to leave at 7:30 even though the show starts at 9 technically...

With the Stacks :D

Me and a friend were just standing behind my car talking after a while, and quite a few people came out asking about it. And my dads car, was surprised. Oh, and there's me.

Here's the rest of the show. This is when people were clearing out.

That's a really nice supra you got there. I really like older toyotas. I currently have a celica similar as that red one but mine's only a fwd gti model. :indiff:

Be happy with what you got.

Everyday I wish I had a MkII Supra/Celica or a first gen 4Runner, or a classic Mini. Yet, here I am, loving my 2007 3.0L Vulcan V6 Ford Ranger. I've had more fun in the Ranger than my father's Goat (1968 GTO) back in the day. It's loud when it wants to be, it's fairly cheap, and it's really fun off road, even though it's RWD.

That's Celica All-Track Turbo next to your Supra, right?

Indeed it is. That's one of my dads many cars. :)

Thank you!

But hey they're cool as well! I'd love to see a picture of it. I quite like that generation, I'm definitely gonna try and find a GT/GTS with a 5 speed in the future.

Nice, I quite like the MK3s. They're definitely more comfortable to drive for extended periods than the MK2s. They certainly perform much better as a grand tourer than mine. :P

thats what mk3s are all about! :D mine has struts which are very worn out, but still, it rides like a dream.

Nice. The GT-Four (All-Track Turbo in the US market) is one of the best cars Toyota has ever made.
Can't be more than my dad has.

I agree, very cool car. Unfortunately most of them were abused. His was picked up for cheap from the previous dumbass owner who used it as a winter beater. It say in his driveway for years where he stopped and asked many times if he'd sell it. When he finally did, it had to be fully redone. Also at some pointin it's life, it had the stock motor swapped out for a JDM spec 3SGTE at a dealer. The chassis has something like 196K on it.

Ha, maybe. What all does he have?

For sure! My dad has an '87 which I've had the pleasure of driving. It's lowered a few inches, but even so it rides great! It's so damn comfy to drive!

It really sucks to see good cars getting abused. Glad that, that one is saved.

Over 12, there are probably some Minis that I've forgotten.

Damn. Yea he has more. Though at one point if I remember correctly the car count was 14 at once.

Well only 5 of them are drivable at the moment and 2 of the undrivable ones are on sale, so not really that many.

I think at the moment there's... 7 running and one not running. Plus there's one that my grandfathers giving him which is gonna be a project since it sat forever.

Thank you!

Don't ge me wrong, i like the car! But i'd rather have a 4wd turbo :D

Here's a picture, since you insist. :D I'll put it as a link, so that nobody thinks you bought a new car or something.

Not that good of a picture but couldn't find better.

a mk3 is like sitting in a lounge wathching an action movie, its very exciting and fun, but your sitting comfortably in a big wooly chair.

I couldn't have put it better myself.

The one thing about them that bothers me is the weight. You really feel it in the corners.

true, but all things considered it isn't too bad. my dad has an NA mx5, and the mk3 doesn't corner too badly in comparison.

Oh don't get me wrong, it handles nice. I think my dad even autocrossed it and did pretty well in it. But you can definitely feel it, it's a heavy beast.

yeah, all that comfort must have some consequence.
