Important information for UK GT Academy participants

URGENT MESSAGE FOR GT ACADEMY PARTICIPANTS TO QUALIFY FOR STAGE 2:

The fastest 30 players from the UK must register their details should they wish to proceed to stage two of the competition, the National Finals. While only the 20 fastest players are due to contest the National Finals, the next ten players will be on standby should competitors be unavailable or not eligible to continue in the competition under the terms and conditions.

Establish that your time is in the top 30 of your country’s GT Academy Leader Board - checking at http://eu.gran-turismo.com/

Follow the link on the site to register your details.

In order to register, you will have to confirm your identity by entering your PlayStation®Network user ID and login details.

Provide your details and answer the questions online.

Registration must be completed by midnight (GMT) on Tuesday, 26 January


The UK National Final will be a day event hosted on Wednesday 17 February. Participants will be offered overnight accommodation the night before the event (evening of Tuesday 16 February)

@ rpm: yep i was wrong but if im not aloud in and some others aren't either (moose?) as well then a 3'24.0xx is possibly enough to qualify.

It would be unfair of them to disallow you that oppertunity in my opinion. If it were a vote up to us lot to decide whether you should be allowed in or not, I'd say yes.

As per your times, I think you might be a little bit shocked come the weekend. I'd be willing to bet that my current 3'23.715 will not be good enough for a top 20 position as there are some "sleepers" sitting quietly outside of the top 20 who have been in there before and are just biding their time.

Of course, I hope I'm wrong as much as you do, but it's just a feeling I have. I reckon a 3'23.6xx will be safe as there will be excessive movement beginning this Friday, "for sure".

I need to give some 👍 to GTPlanet. Granted this is the only Gran Turismo site I visit, but I am shocked to see someone sign up to GTPlanet just to post official news. 'They' know we are here, there is no denying that.

In my opinion your time is quite comfortably safe and mine should be enough but theres no guarantees although i reckon i can see a 3'23.5xx or better going by my splits.

Not a date set yet as far as I know.. but I'd assume it being around the same time as UK finals.. give or take a week??

New Zealand final to be held in Auckland, Wed. Feb. 3rd. Just got email from GT Academy. they will be emailing again when the qualifier closes on Monday (NZ time).
World final at Silverstone Feb 26th to Mar 3rd 2010.

Registered at 10am but no confirmation yet.

@ gtacademynews: I agree it would be very helpful if we could have some more details on the location of the final. I'm sure most of us have jobs and if we need to make a long journey we might have to take more than one day of holiday. This might prove difficult at such short notice. 💡
