I didn't get an email immediately after registering, but later last night.
And today in the 'snail' mail i got a paper version of the same mail that I got last night.
But that mail doesn't really tell me anything. It says to refer to documents that are in the 'pack' but i didn't get a 'pack' either in email or snail mail.
I have been in contact with the local Sony rep, and I'm expecting a call from her this afternoon to clear things up. I'll let you know the details.

Well, turns out at least 6 people in the top 20 in nz didn't comply to the terms & conditions, I am throught to the final!
I am super stoked!
I gave the local Rep a call too to double check that this had happened.

National Finals for New Zealand will be held at Hampton Downs (a brand new world class race circuit).
Apparently it is an event filled day with lots of activities happening. In attendence will be Johnny Reid (Former A1GP driver, plus many other classes) perhaps for training, advice, speeches, tutorials etc.
The 20 in attendence will be split into groups. I got the idea that it will be some sort of knockout competition happening (obviously I suppose!).
I tried to get as many details as i could out of our friendly rep, but it seems thats there was only so much she was allowed to say. :)
If nothing else it sounds like it will be a fun day. 👍
There will be a bus picking people up, before it goes to the airport to collect those coming from other parts of the country. (will be a long day for them!!)
I live pretty close to the circuit, so no need for Sony transport. - thanks anyway Sony :)

Yeah same day mate........ the format seems to be very similar to your by the sounds of it... TT'ing, head to head battles, a talk from a professional driver of some description etc etc......

I'll have the camera handy for sure.

I can't wait to see your guys experience on tape...especially some of the intense battles :sly:

Good luck all! Hope you have a great time as well 👍

Cheers TA..... it's something that i wanted badly, i'm just glad that my talent was nearly on par with my ambition:scared: and i made it. I told myself that if i didn't make Top 20 on the Leaderboard officially (as in having to register as one of the fastest outside the Top 20) and got in due to a pull out.... i wouldn't go.

Agree! It's been more than 24h that I registered and still not even an automated response saying that they have received my details... I mean how hard can it be? They only need to process 30 applications per country!!

MAY, I think its a matter of NZ HAVING to be so organised. the finals here are in a weeks time, and flights need to be booked for the winner to travel 13,000 miles to the other side of the world in around 3 weeks., quite an epic journey for some lucky punter!
I agree that you should have been informed of at least something by now. But perhaps its not quite as vital to get the ball rolling as it is here and in Australia.
And to be fair I don't think anyone got a response to their initial registration (I didn't at least). But Sony have been quick off the mark with organising the final here, they have to , there is only 5 working days left before we get together.

yeah i know in that side of the world things must to be really organized to bring those "lucky punters"!? here at the time.. are you guys all in holidays for them to put the finals at week day!? thats strange... :odd: maybe they are in a worry because they're planning to travel in a boat to europe!? :dopey:

I know I am on holiday for Feb. but otherwise, no, its just a normal weekday I think.
Not that anyone works around here.. we all just lax out on the beach gazing out over the Pacific Ocean all day. (I wish!)

Maybe we can make a list of the National Finals date, sorted by Country? When & where is the first National Final actually?

I may as well start as New Zealand will be the first (I think??) to kick off, 2 hours before australia.

National Final Dates and Locations

Feb 3rd - New Zealand - Hampton Downs Motor Sport Park
Feb 3rd - Australia - Melbourne

Thank you Sphinx for doing that!
I saw some dates here and there,
but I don't know where they come from or if they are confirmed..
Weren't Germany's National Finals on the 6th? But I'm not sure..
And saw 13th of feb somewhere too.. but didn't know for what country. (Spanish I think)

Hey guys, been a reader since just after the GT5TT began, but have just signed up today!

Anyone know if the cars or tracks in the National Finals will be the same as the ones in the online GT5TT event (normal 370z and tuned 370z, with the Indianpolis circuit) or will they be as yet unseen cars and tracks? What happened for those that went to the event held last time?

Also is anyone able to compare the latest DFGT to the G25/G27?

9:30am-5:00pm seems like a long day for time trials and playoffs...

Cheers,
Dave

Spanish finals will be on Feb. 13, but about the location we don't know it yet.

Belgium - Spa  (where if not?)

humm until now every locations are in a circuit... :) will we have a go in those circuits for real!? i wish i wish :D

Don't think so. Our event is in a hotel in Spa, not at the circuit itself :grumpy:

Edit: Actually the circuit is about 10 km away from the hotel.

French and Suisse French finals are at Paul Ricard near Marseille

What was the date for those again?? 👍

And no word from Scandinavian final yet.. :(

(apart from it being probably in Helsinki, possible date 12th Feb. but nothing official yet..)
