Pretty stock aye, just the exhaust from what I saw. Apparently has a Cusco front diff, but I haven't driven a standard 6 to compare it to.
The 6 is probably stretching the budget a bit, but always wanted an Evo, and am getting a bloody good deal for it as well. Financing some of it, hitting up the family for a bit of a loan as well, shouldn't be too bad. Hopefully.
Also getting a feeling the EJ20 in the wagon is a bit of a hand grenade at the moment, the Winger guys told me that the big end bearing might be on the way out. It's been (for the most part) reliable so far, and I figure I should get rid of it before the repair floodgates open.
Also, is it normal that I think the wagon has more of a top end rush than the evo? Or is that just my head playing tricks on me because of the lag between the primary and secondary?
I'd get out of the GTB while I still could. I actually work at a Subaru dealer and I've seen them go wrong, especially the twin turbos. And seen the repair costs....
There is probably a bit of an illusion with the top end rush because Evos (especially stock or mildly modded) tend come on song really quite low in the rev range and are not really keen to rev where the EJ20 likes to rev and really needs to to make the power, even with the turbo/s.
