because there's nothing very R in the G6R

I wouldn't be buying the R anyway ;) And I have no wild expectations of performance from anything I'll looking at. I'd be more concerned if it handles awfully. And that I doubt, although again I'm under no impression that it's the best FWD ever made either. But if there's anything I've missed...

Nice E30 above, Rue 👍 Would fit in the cool sedans thread well too!

The sales team at our place used to run a fleet of that model Corolla. They were reliable, but were the dullest form of transport you could imagine.

That's the thing, I'm still wondering how much that will actually bother me... I've managed to go five six years in a base model Fiesta without modifying it in any way, shape or form, it's quite slow and it's not in a particularly fetching colour. So a G6 would still be a step up  Obviously some of the other things on my wishlist are more interesting, but I do sometimes wonder whether now is the right time in my life (when I'm close to skint) to get something genuinely special.

Obligatory photos in thread meant for photos - some rather nice Sciroccos and Corrados:

I quite fancy a Corrado actually... *sigh*

Sadly, this car was never raced either in Group B or Group S that died before it was even born. mid-engined AWD, and transversely/longitudinally mounted engines were tested, and the tested engine wasn't anything else but legendary 503E that was loosely based on the 3S-GTE engine. What a monster..

There are only two of the original three left in existence. One was destroyed in testing, one is at TTE and the other is in Japan.

Had group S ever existed it may have gone up against this car

That picture of the Aristo is crap, I have a feeling the car looks much better in real life.

That NSX is awesome looking, the 180SX is a bit of an odd color for my taste.

Aristo: Nasty
NSX: Nice ish, but a bit too OTT for me
180SX: Looks good, shame about the colour

I completely agree on all counts, though on the Aristo, I'm willing to concede that it may look better in person.

The NSX would be perfect in standard white, black or red, but on that colour and with the bodywork done, it does look a bit overdone.
