Anyone who think FWD car can't be enthusiast cars really should be allowed to call themselves an enthusiast in the first place. I hate this RWD elitist attitude that has sprung up on GTP recently. Honestly guys, get over yourselves.

Less talk, more pictures. This is a picture thread after all.

Just to irritate the purists, this RX7 has a 1JZGTE under the bonnet.

It looks like that car can't even get into the driveway without leaving some pieces behind .

The Honda enthusiast "scene" is all about how low you can get your car and how much worthless JDM crap you can toss at it. That is exactly why I got out of hondas and into toyotas. Toyota has made far more sporty cars in their history. Aside from later model corollas and celicas they were mostly rwd or awd. They even built cars with turbochargers something which Honda still refuses to do.
Really? Because last I checked, the whole Scion thing was all about that as well. Hell, they even market their cars with it!

Your bias. against Honda is just really sad. If it's Honda, you hate & speak as if Toyota isn't anything like it. Get over yourself.

It annoys me just as much that people can't seem to get over the fact that some people simply don't like certain cars.

I hate all domestic vehicles except for a few exceptions. I've learned about them in school, I've driven hundreds of them in real life, worked on hundreds of them in my career, and even blew up a good 30 of them. Every time I spend time wrenching on them, I find new things I dislike about them, crappy engineering, stupid ideas in general. Laziness in the designs. The terrible looks. Every time I learn something new, I dislike them more.

It's an opinion I've developed over continuous exposure to both sides of the coin, and that's the conclusion I've come to. It's really quite annoying when someone barges in an throws in the "elitist" and "get over yourself" crap like I've been covering my eyes and ears in an "ignorance is bliss" attitude.

Whenever someone brings something like this up, everyone is quick to assume that the person doesn't agree with your opinion because "they don't understand." What if they do understand, and that's precisely the reason they think the way they do. I dislike NASCAR, and the more I "understand" it, I dislike it more. I appreciate it less as a motorsports, because I know more about it.

I'm not reffering to anything about me right now, but I've been in the same situation as Time Attack. I know he was big into the Honda thing a while back, and I know he's experienced far more than a lot of you have in terms of the "scene." He isn't automatically ignorant or elitist because he disagrees with your outlook on hardparkers or FWD cars, ect.

There's a difference between disliking something & making incompetent statements against it. He can dislike Honda's if he wants, but he's incredibly ignorant with some of his comments & even more oblivious to the fact that his favorite brand is as guilty of the same criticisms he puts towards Honda & FF in general.

I don't support scions either. Toyota has lost their way. Its said when people these days think stuff like that qualifies as sporty.

I just got back from driving my mom's spanky new Corolla. Awful thing. My Mazda is more comfortable to sit in and drive, and the old Civic did everything better than the Corolla could do. The fact that the Rolla has better cupholders is offset by the driver's door armrest being 3 feet off to the left. I actually have to lean over to reach the armrest.

Not to bash the Toyota, but it's a metaphor for new cars in general. They're all pieces of crap. The most important things, the details that really matter, have all gotten worse.

I would probably go for a new mazda 3 over a new corolla if I was in the market for that type of thing. New cars are generally worse though.

Ace pics Cano, I especially like the Abarth, the Prelude and the Scirocco on Porsche rims 👍

If you really wanted to talk about the companies broader applications it must be mentioned that Toyota also owns Subaru and Yamaha.

Owns. Renault mostly owns Nissan, it doesn't mean the Clio is in any way related to the GT-R. The limit of collaboration I can see with Toyota and Subaru/Yamaha respectively is the FT-86 and the S-series engine respectively. Not quite the same as the same company developing both cars and motorcycles, but whatever.

Yamaha has been designing engine components for Toyota for 30 years or so.

and you next point is going to be that honda is a better company because they also build lawn mowers and electric generators...

If you can find where I said they were a "better company" then I'll give you an internet cookie. When you're done acting like a child, then you might get another.
