Wow! I remember Weds making full carbon wheels a while back (some $12k a set depending on size) but I don't think they ever produced any after what they had at the Tokyo Auto Salon. Also it looks like the GTR from the video has lower offset wheels with a more concave face design which looks much better IMO.

They're almost the same as the TC105N.

Pricey, but stupidly light weight & well designed. I believe Mosler saw the wheels as the perfect choice for his MT900 as he was obsessed with weight reduction & I think Koenigsegg and Callaway has adopted them as well.

From what I've found the actual price varies by car. GTR-specified ones run somewhere just over $10,000 while, if I remember right, a replacement set for the MT900S is over $12K.

Things that are designed with every aspect of their performance in mind and are made to be as efficient as possible have "form." When "form" is non-existent it is usually things that are designed with a "good enough it works" attitude and with not as great resources and know how.

For me that is just a part of form. The idea being that the less you are constrained by either the more you can get of the other. Though it varies person by person as I have found things others considered to just have function be very pleasing to my eyes.

By the way, that white GTR is on Dymags.

Couldn't find any better pics of that specific GTR than this one, from the dragtimes.info blog, which obscures the wheels completely:

But here's another white GTR on the same wheels. They're full carbon composite rims with magnesium centers... VERY $$$$$:

Edit:

Here we go... clearest still I could get of the wheels from the 1080p video:

Looks like the full Wald kit.

Yeah, I agree.

Also, I love 86s.

:tup:There has to be some good photos of that GTR around some Russian forums.

Here's that Wald kit on the GTR...It looks fantastic and really fits the body lines of the car.

A selection. Cool Mazda3, even cooler Mazda5, a couple of the drift Honda Element and a couple of Fits that probably won't be to all tastes:
