Sweet Fords, Rue!

👍 Yeah, getting back into the cars from when I was a lad.

What the heck ... ?!

The thing used to be epic clean on the outside, but then it got wrecked. The A-pillar and smashed in pretty bad. After that the car became "Rusty" and eventually led to this...

Most people I know liked it the way it was before. But I like this one purely because it's ridiculous. He didn't have to, but he did, and it took a helluva lot of real, professional fabrication to do it. Hot rod guys have been doing this for decades - why is it wrong when somebody sleds a BMW?

I personally think this is the baddest thing since Halle Berry, but whatever. Screw the purists.

Cesar, I've already spied an annoying problem with that Exige chassis you posted. That rear spoiler mount is obviously a custom solution and...isn't the sturdiest thing I've ever seen. That's a shame because the rest of the car is pretty nicely done.

To me it just flowed so nice with the stock lines of the BMW. It's not a bad thing he hot rodded it out, but I just liked the look of Rusty when he was.. rusty sitting on RS'

My godfather had one of the first Sierra RS500's made. It went like a jack-hammer and I loved it. Throughout the 90's I became increasingly more resentful to Cossies no thanks to the kind of people that drove/stole them at the time. Coming back to them twenty years later I now appreciate them a whole lot more. My only gripe is what's up with the rolled lip exhausts they all have? They're awful.

Royal 'Nail' post van

The Royal Nail is a surprising little sleeper. To the untrained eye, it's just a slightly shabby mkIV Escort van. But hang on - those steels are slightly larger than standard, aren't they? And what's with the drainpipe exhaust?

The Royal Nail's secret lies in its warp-speed propulsion system. Power comes from a 386bhp Cosworth YB, delivered through all four wheels via Cosworth running gear. That's enough to get it to 60mph in 4.4 seconds.
- Or 3.4 judging by the video below...

My father used to own ones of those. It was built up on a shortened 911 chassis, though... Basically, a shortened Porsche with a Beetle's body fitted to it, or something. I don't remember the details too well. But it was appearently a pretty popular thing to with (crashed) 911s back then.
Sold it when I was a small kid, but he kept telling stories about how awesome that thing was.

Yeah I noticed that right away. Seems like it would flex allot under load but if you look at the first pic you can tell its pretty thick steel (assuming.) Maybe it really doesn't flex much, I'd like to believe that whoever is in charge of that car came to that design for a reason and not because "it gits the job dun."

You can forget about grapes and ponchos...
