It's RWD and it's light - what more do you need? That seems like a decent basis to start from... I wouldn't want a track car anyways, so something that's fun to drive is all I'd be asking for. A decent engine and some work on the suspension and I'd think it would be a pretty nifty car - plus, it has a bit of a sleeper factor.

Regarding the looks, though, I think that's entirely subjective... I've developed a taste for those boxy, small cars from the 80s and 90s as of late, if they're done lup right.

Starlets are cool because they're RWD. Besides that, honestly, it's just a tiny, flimsy, cheap, ugly, entirely underwhelming economy car with ITBs. It wasn't designed to be a sports car, and it never will be, just like an AE86 or Civic or Sentra.

That's not saying it can't be fun. Just that the owners should keep in mind that they own/show/race/drift an economy car with ITBs. Any redeeming dynamic quality is probably a result of its very light weight.

Those cars, the boxes they are, can get to this with enough modification:

That's pretty awesome if you ask me

The car on the vid is just a box with a super fast engine. Any box with that engine could do that, got nothing to do with the car itself..

I think you could have as much fun in an economic car as in a supercar..

They still did choose that car instead of another more economical car with a better drag coefficient, which at least to me seems like it has something to do with the car itself. I agree with the fun in an economic car and maybe even more fun since you are not worried of wrecking something so expensive.

This just made me want an S13 coupe even more. I was loooking at the online classifieds lately and there is one for sale with an RB25DET, front end silvia conversion and 2 piece blitz wheels. Talk about

They're not the best choice for rear-drive cars. What I do like about that car is the two-tone, which you don't see much of, and that body kit which isn't as ridiculous as the drifter-status ones.

That S2000 guy was probably pissed when he flared his rear fenders so far that it creased the quarter panel. Ouch.

I find it a shame there's not a shot of the CRX though, a nice example I instantly fell in love with:

So the S13 with Regas is growing on me a little. But the DC5 looks bad with them. The DC2 is appropriate for them. A friend of mine had them on a really nice black EK hatch and it looked perfect.

Normally, I'd grit my teeth at someone slamming an Accord Type R. Certainly wouldn't do it myself, even though I don't mind the style generally.

But that car actually looks pretty good. I'd ditch the badging though, doesn't sit well with the rest of the car now that they've gone for show rather than go.

Also, I'd forgotten how much I liked Accord Rs in general...

Maybe I should stick some TE37's on my Tundra. They don't look bad on this 4Runner.

I know I'm really milking Mayday, but the cars are just sooo cool!

Or maybe not. I kind of hate the fact that it has those ridiculous wheels, the non-blistered fenders:

Okay... so this is the Imports thread and not the Questionable Modifications thread... but heck... it's an import, either way...
