It'd cut too much into the GTI sales. There is also all the safety BS VW would have to go through to make it fit for US roads.

I know. But still, that is soooo much cooler than a Golf. We just need some limited numbers of them.

How come? It's just a squashed MKVI Golf..

European safety standards and American safety standards are completely different. It takes way more then most people think to bring a car to market in other parts of the world.

If I had a Scirocco, would it be possible if I went on vacation in the US to bring the car with me?

Yes, people bring in cars from Canada and Mexico all the time to the US that weren't sold here. However, if they tried to register them here they wouldn't be able too. It's like the whole R34 Skyline thing that's going on right now.

Why you'd ship a car over from Europe for a holiday in America is beyond me, especially a cheap hot hatch.

No no, not that I would, but just for interest becaus I know some one that drives a crazy tuned Mustang here with US license plates and is from origin Dutch, but has a house in the US..

In a fairly new car with all the sound insulation it has, nah, it's probably not bad at all in that car.

In a 1991 sports car with nothing but a thin of carpet for insulation, and the rear of the car only 3 feet behind you, it can get a little annoying. Especially when it's a non-turbo rotary.

Turbo cars can cruise all day without mufflers. The turbo muffles the sound so much that it really isn't that bad.

That could be but I just don't like cars that loud without really having crazy bhp's.. And I like sleeper status ^^

That's at least six different kinds of ugly.
Probably the worst Evo I've ever seen, yeah.

Also, that drift video. I love how the music of Vimeo car videos - something I used to look forward to hearing - has devolved into dubstep. Not.

I was gonna mention how dubstep has become the cool new music to use in car videos and it ruins most of them. I don't mind it as much as the previous era, where rock was the norm for "cool car videos", but a Japanese guy scraping a drift missile against a wall doesn't need music, especially not some trendy, "the cool new thing" dubstep crap.

EDIT: Here. I will counter that video with another, better made video. Music might not be to everyones' tastes, but it fits the video well.

More on the Jackie Chan Evo from Autoblog:

If you are die-hard Jackie fan, you might already know the close relationship between Mitsu Motor and the martial arts action star as all the cars in his earlier movies were supplied by the Japanese firm. Today, even though that contract is long over, Jackie is still a big Mitsu fan and likes to drive around Hong Kong in his one of a kind FireSports Evo XIII MR made just for him. A few month back in Singapore, he unveiled the Jackie Chen Special Edition Evo IX that he developed with FireSports. A total of 50 of these special Evos will be available worldwide at a hefty $77,193 a piece.

And if you hated it from the front get ready because I actually have a photo from the back that I took a couple of years ago before he changed plates...

Let me guess, its been "karate chopped"?
 He showed that trunk lid his strong hand.

PB: Was that video at Nashville?
I'm wondering if they hold local drift events there. I know they had a big one last year during IA, but that's obviously not during IA.
