The funniest part is that it's a "real" SiR.

It's a real SiR, this is a Canadian car. The 99-00 Si was called SiR over here, and was also available in silver, whereas the US only got red, blue and black.

The whole clutch thing is laughable, however.

You're the first person I've heard from that said it didn't suck this year.

Can I be the second? I thought this year was phenomenal, and I've been to 5 of the 6 total years running.

Mr. Burroughs is back everyone...

The whole write up can be found here, clicky.

To be honest, he never left. He's got roughly 4 built BMW's at this point. Whether or not he chooses to show them publicly, is an entirely different story.

Wanna see something that looks completely retarded?

Somebody slap that man in the mouth for being stupid. That car looks absolutely terrible. I would make fun of the owner and his car to his face.

Considering the owner is a personal friend of mine, I can assure you that you would be completely wasting your time. His response would probably be along the lines of "Who the f' are you, what the f' have you done with your car, and why the f' should I care what you think?" And I, for one, have to agree with that mentality. Just because you don't like it, doesn't give you the right to mock. The craftsmanship is there, and since he took 2nd place at the cleanest engine bay competition... its quite obvious that he's not alone in liking how it came out. I may not be a follower of the stretched tire movement, but I can appreciate the hard work and dedication it took to complete.

An engine bay or a set of wheels are only parts of a whole. Every one of these cars that looks great in pictures has all sorts of flaws here and there, but it's the whole that counts when we're judging cars on artistic merit. I don't subscribe to the stance movement either, but I do enjoy the art in cars. That one just isn't cutting it - satisfying to the crowd which lacks an eye for art, which is most people. And I hear he's selling the wheels. Good - at least it looked marginally better on the old white Sawblades.

How would you feel if both of these cars were in my garage?

I'm lost on this. You're arguing over looks, which is a completely subjective topic (meaning each persons views differ from the next). So why does it matter to you, if the car doesn't meet your standards? That's like saying your free sandwich doesn't taste great, and you don't choose a replacement free sandwich that suits your tastes better. All in all, it just reads as though you're whining about a car that isn't even yours.

As for his wheels, he didn't much care for the Lambo. wheels after they were on the car. But, because they weren't cheap, he stuck with them for the time being. He has been looking for a better alternative for quite some time now. And, before you get your pants in a bunch, yes he's going for a low offset/stretch setup again. 18x11 +30 rears and 18x9 +30-ish fronts, is what he told me last. But, we'll see what happens.

Which seems to be a good quite a bit of them at IA.

:indiff:
Sigh...

If you don't want to see/hear this kind of stuff, you're in the wrong thread.

I've been here long enough to know what goes on in this thread, bud. I just don't care too much for the negativity directly placed towards a friend's car. I can understand having distaste, but to the extent that some people post... is a bit unnecessary.

But if it wasn't a friends car, you wouldn't care right? I'd just leave it be.

Another clean bimmer from the house of SW.

And here is where it gets interesting. The wheels seen on this car were actually caught in the fire that destroyed Mike Burroughs garage a few months ago. And now they are back on the street rolling around. The craziest part of that story is that the restoration process was all done by hand, over 60 hours worth of work.

and here is the biggest curveball of the whole car, which also might not be to most people's tastes...

And this is the full write up on the car, most of you guys probably don't ever read these but I recommend you give them a chance. It might even change your mind about the whole "Stance" scene, the stereotype that accompanies most of these people really ruins it for the people that pioneered and truly love the movement.

EDIT: I'm really looking like a fanboy/nut swinger lately with these posts... don't judge me.

To be honest, I probably would have still posted something. It has more to do with the principal of mockery, then it being a defensive move for a friend. I'm not butthurt by it, by any means. Its just something that I think is a bit juvenile and unnecessary, and was looking to get a response that was a bit more positive or something a little less disrespectful.
