Don't get me wrong, the "Hellaflush" thing is OK, but when your wheels sit outside the fenders and you stretch tires to get them back in....I don't like that.

I never used to be keen, but my tastes have broadened recently. Wouldn't drive something like that myself (the stanced thing, not the 9-2X which I think is ace) but I can appreciate the looks.

This car belongs to a guy that I work with. I think the rear is a tad low and might need to come up say 1/4 inch, but I really like the wheels.

Weds SA-55M Color MGM / Front 19×9.5 +15mm / Rear 19×10.5 +15mm / Stance GR+ Coilovers

and here is the beginning of a crazy build.

a mildly built LS1 powered BMW 2002 rat rod. all the parts are from other cars that are made to fit: Cobalt SS steering rack, C5 Corvette Coil overs, Control Arms off a Panoz race car, and just random other GM parts laying around.

i'm bumping this from the bottom of the last page. i think this thing needs to be seen.

I'm all for V8 swaps, but only because the LS1 is a good engine, and only when the engine that came out was no good. And in Rx7s, but it's because the Rotary is cool.

This is just stupid.

I need to find a really nice "Played out" picture on the net somewhere, because it describes the current rash of LSx swaps perfectly.

LS1 is too expensive anyway.

Ford 4.6 DOHC all day, every day. So long as you can find room for something bigger than a big-block (though much lighter). Won't make as much unboosted but erm... You add any sort of forced induction and power will be erm... "adequate".

It's relatively cheap to do, light, and gives you tons of power. I know that you're probably sick of it from your FM days, and it's not really my thing either, but there are much worse things in this thread to be bothered by.

Like the stupidity that is stretched tires?

Fixed. Slight stretches have their uses (reducing sidewall flex), and have been spotted before on multiple race cars. The Cyber Evo for example runs a slight stretch on their tires. It's the fastest car in the current, and past World Time Attack series, and not nearly the most powerful.

It's kind of a fine line, but the difference is whether you're running a stretched tire to make the tire fit under the fenders, or if you're running really big tires, and then simply running a rim that's slightly wider, as in the case of the Cyber Evo.

EDIT: Something like is is completely retarded though:

I tried to go for the fitment, but not stupid look for my car, and I think I've pulled off the balance (PB, hurr durrr herp) quite well.

:odd:

You need to get your priorities straight son. I'd rather have an old LT-1 than a Ford Modular any day.
