Amazing pics, but I was wondering why Drifters (or other motorsports) would put tape (or other similar sticky compounds) on the headlights and taillights? I never understood the purpose of doing so other than promoting the "prototypeness" of the car..

That's funny because my friends and I have been talking about airing out a fitted car as a means of preventing towing and clamping. If there's no space around your wheels then they can't clamp it, and if your frame is on the ground then they can't tow it. Like a boss.

Too bad those VWs have front-mounted tow hooks. Mine are under the car so they'd never be able to reach them.
