Well done, Sir.

What the hell is that thing?! It looks insane! Need more info!

It's the latest iteration of lovefab's NSX which will be participating in Pikes Peak
Looked like this before:

without the pikes peak bodywork

Before that I think it looked like this

I'm not quite sure if lovefab's shop car has had many different transformations and this is the latest one (pikes peak car) but it may be since the tails on the car posted are NA1 and it has a black roof while the front is 2002+ yet on the pikes peak video car it has the NA1 front.

So yeah it's probably the same car they've had for years and just kept on modifying it since as you can see here it looks very similar to the one pictured:

I hate to say it but the lower panel of that diffuser looks completely useless. Obviously the tunnel will grab air and throw it upwards but the underside should also allow air to curve upwards smoothly just like any other high end design. You can have quite a gnarly curve to it without separation but an abrupt angle change like this is going to cause all sorts of havoc.

I don't know much about aero but maybe it's there for cooling purposes.
You can see it better from that angle

A rather stock S2000 passed me on the freeway last night. It was missing the rear mufflers (could see the mid-pipe flange) and had one of those carbon fiber fastback hardtops on it.

A video from the local drift event a few days ago. I only got in it one time at the beginning of one of my runs, but a great video regardless.

They were filming out of a convertible 240 for the moving shots, and they turned out incredible.

EDIT: Also, is it possible to embed Vimeo?

Just hit the vimeo logo beside the strike one and insert the 46341170

Also is your 240 the red one parked?
EDIT: Just saw it's also drifting  need to watch the whole video before I post. Nice video and cool cars

BTCC is WAY closer to production than that NSX dude.

I bet a current NGTC BTCC car is no closer to a production car then that NSX. In fact, the NSX looks to be using an NSX engine block and maybe heads. NGTC cars probably don't.

Yeah I only got the short clip of the start of one of my runs in the video. I was thinking about going back out there again towards the end when they started doing the moving shots and decided against it, and now I REALLY wish I would have gone back out there, the shots turned out epic.

Either way, both cars are based on a stock chassis and then heavily modified. You can't draw a line here - once you've completely redesigned the suspension system it's effectively not the same car so it doesn't matter. You can't simply buy those parts, they're all custom built.

A month or so ago a friend bought a completely standard S2000. He was undecided on which route to take, track toy or parking queen... yeeaahh.

Yeah, the NGTCs I would definitely agree with being no closer to production than the NSX as their suspension is attached to a "universal" tubular subframe that's attached to the roll cage. So in that sense they're closer to a tube-frame, fiberglass shell type of race car. The old BTCC/WTCC cars were not like this. They still retained the majority of the front end where the engine and suspension was fitted and the roll cage attached to, although, to be fair, they were allowed to move suspension link mounting points anywhere within a 40mm diameter area from the factory mounting points iirc.

Also, before I over corrected into a concrete barrier at Drift Valley...

Hah, my beater actually requires throttle modulation now. At least up to 3rd

Also, spun out and tried dumping the clutch in first out of it once and instead of doing a nice burnout the clutch slipped. I guess that means I'm spending money on ITBs instead of a clutch

Keefo your photos never link for me. Not sure what the problem is, but it's always you specifically. They work fine when I copy the URL - anyone else have this problem?

-edit- looks like it's only the ones you link straight off of Facebook, to which I have an extension that blocks...

Touching back upon the RWB discussion a few pages back: I'm not typically a fan of their cartoonish racecar style, but this one scales things back just enough. The front end is nice and clean with the right parts blacked out, the fenders don't look like a drift-boy special, and there's a sedate ducktail on the back. Mmmhmmm:
