Just amazing! That's all I have to say.

@Fred: I'm with you there about those two D1 S15s. What happened to them?

They moved on.

Well aware of that. Most ex-D1 cars get sold to some place halfway around the globe, ie the HKS S15 Taniguchi drove went to Europe to become the HKS Europe car, then it went to America where it became the Rockstar car, and, currently, the Falken car. Same deal with Kazama's S15 which is now in Norway, and Nomura's R34 which is in the UK, just to name those. Pretty cool if Kumakubo and Tanaka kept them as "souvenirs" (and that yellow helmet in what would have been Kumakubo's car back in the day suggests such a thing has happened)

Well they do testing during the off season. Not sure how much testing was allowed back then. Then they race the cars during the race season. Ultimately these cars end up being sold, parted out, or put up in a museum.

Also what's that BMW-engined tube frame race car up there?

Edit: Now that I'm on my computer and can seen these photos in a better screen... Top Fuel S2000, 911 race at Motegi. So much awesomeness.

I'm always amazed at how clean those Japanese garages are, be it at a racetrack or a shop...

What happens to the test cars after they finishing testing them?

That one in particular, the MP4/8B, remains in the McLaren collection in the same condition as it was at the end of testing.

I was thinking they never raced ( in an actual race) the test cars, they had as a manufacturer's test car not team test car.

BMW M1

Here is the car that engine belongs to, you guys may recognize it (and not like it).

You'll notice that the long stacks were the old setup, the picture of the short stacks with Fluid MotorUnion engraved on them is what is on the car now.

Those BMW's are sex. I've really been wanting to get a 240z lately. Can anybody help me out with some Datsun love? I've also yet to see a clean looking L24-28 series engine. I have triple-Webers and velocity stacks in mind. Thanks to anyone willing to help out here!

Is that an E36 M3 with an old skool M6 Front? Pimp!

It's Photoshop, but the guy aaaaalmost had it. He half-assed the reflection in the front of the hood, the front fender width doesn't cope at all with the front bumper, and the rear wheel is in a very wrong angle, but the concept is indeed cool.

Everything else, amazing page, people. The picture of the missing wheel flying by is amazing!
