Seriously, I could dedicate a post to the GNs and ERAs.
Quite fond of Amilcars myself. They have great proportions.

Also hugely taken by the Frazer-Nash 'Owlet', which seems capable of some quite improbable cornering abilities. Not sure this is really material for the Imports thread but since we don't have an "awesome vintage cars" thread...

Hey, they're imports--so what if they're older than dirt and don't have big wheels and wings? (Okay, so they do tend to have big wheels, but you know what I mean. :P)

In full agreement with you on the Amilcars, but I've seen early MGs do things the Owlet can only dream of...all on tires of similar width.

Consider this thread's impetus, though...

The Amilcar-Hispano took Set 1 (Boulogne Trophy) rather convincingly. Premier Cru probably gave the best racing, an R10B, R4A and AJM 1 nose to tail (they lapped the Bugattis at a rather terrifying rate), but that left the Alta circulating in no man's land. 6 cars producing one of the best races I've seen in many years.

It's more the look and the tech of the Owlet I like - again, they have great proportions. And those particular ones use a crazy chain transmission that lets the drivers flat-shift. I dunno if you read (or even have access to) Octane magazine, but they did a feature on one last year and I've thought they were fantastic since then.

I've seen it on stands and have flipped through a couple times, but I subscribe to very few magazines and none are imports. I take that back, none car-related are imports.
