Impossible challenges - Let’s list them

Potentially a new impossible challenge.

Come in first place in the Jimny Cup races with a stock car.

Best I could do was 3rd, good enough for the Cafe Menu. I suspect the computer cars have some upgrades since they pull much faster than you on the straights. Slap a high rpm turbo on for an easy win.
I've debunked a portion of this challenge.

P1 Lake Louise Jimny Cup on Hard with a stock car.

Pretty proud of this ! Winning the Chimny race with CRB in a stock car. Didn't think it's possible after my first attempts when the race was new. All credits though go to @GlockPants who was a big motivation, showing the benefits of a wide line ...
It still took me quite a couple of attempts as any form of contact, leaving the track, wallriding, knocking over these green pillars etc. makes a run invalid in my book.
Well, when I finally made it, I just couldn't help let the second place driver see my very special smile ! :D

The Big Willow - Horse Thief Mile is definitely not impossible, I managed to do it yesterday in Hard difficulty. It hasn't got a long straight so we're not at that a big disadvantage, and one advice that I can give is that you can carry a lot more speed through the corners than you might think. It was very different than the car that I was usually drive (usually Gr.3 and the like), my first attempt was a very low 10th place and when I got used to the car, I managed to pass the leader on the final lap on the first hairpin.

The best I could get on Lake Louise is around 2-4 seconds IIRC behind the leader, I was right behind them at the last corner, but with their insane straight line speed it was impossible to catch them to the line. But I reckon the aliens could've beat them tbh.

Haven't tried the last race on stock cause after Lake Louise I slapped those high rpm turbo to get it over with :D
Carrying speed is the key to Horse Thief Mile. It's been a long time since I golded that CE but I recall taking almost every one of the turns faster than I thought possible.

1: Win the Neo Classic Race at Willow Springs in the suggested Toyota Supra GT500. Use whatever settings you want. Heck, go ahead and use N2O. It doesn’t matter.
Winning definitly isnt possible, I cant be convinced anyone can do that with a Gr.3 vs the old classic monsters.
But finishing the menu book might be possible.

+4 seconds on 3rd I could propably manage with hours of fine tuning and practice.
Then there is also the component of lucky dumb AI ...

The current weekly Gr1 race a Suzuka, with the recommended TS030 and a clean race bonus, might just be impossible. The car has little chance against the spaceship VGTs and the AI is a perfect demonstration of everything that is wrong with the current AI model.

In real life racing fast open wheelers and prototypes is in a large part possible thanks to what is best described as mutual assured destruction, nobody wants to be involved in a crash like those of Allan McNish and Mike Rockenfeller at Le Mans 2011 but these Artificial Idiots will sideswipe you at 300 km/h when you're already halfway past on the inside, suddenly brake hard 50 metres before the normal braking point for no reason, and other things common to them. Add to that a car that doesn't have the benefit of being able to wait for a safe spot and trouble is pretty much guaranteed.

All the same as above, but the weekly Super Formula race at Road Atlanta. Dive bombings leading to banging wheels and rear end crashes in braking zones, suddenly braking hard at the exits of fast corners, it's all in there. Probably the only way to win it with the bonus is to not stop and wait for everyone else to pit.

EDIT - perhaps somewhat manageable with easy difficulty, but on normal and hard certainly very difficult.

I Have won this race at the first try, on the difficult level, with the SF19. One stop at mid race. I was faster than IA in the straight lines...
My laps were regular in 1'07, with one best lap in 1'06 and one 1'08.

This is possible, but it took me restarting several times to learn when and how to get around them without contact.

Turn one relies on timing your entry just right so that you are accelerating through the corner full-throttle, but not closing on them as they apex. I use the straight to back off just a bit, then alter my entrance for a little bit of a late apex while passing on the inside. It's an easy way to pass groups of cars, but also an easy way to ram into all of them too!

From there through over the top of the hill, down through the esses and left through T5 I tended to just wait up behind them, and use turn 6 to pass before tucking back in for turn 7. Sometimes you can catch the inside of them in turn 5, but it leaves you on the outside for turn 6/7 and susceptible to the divebombs you mentioned... haha.

In the SF19 I would give the DRS a squeeze down the back straight to get by at times, and stay focused on a good exit out of the turn 10A/B chicane to get them on the inside down the hill and across the line. This is another place where they will be posted on the apex and requires good timing to get by without catastrophe!

For RA I use FM1 until I pass the leader, then relax into FM4 for the rest of the race. The other night I won by 50ish seconds without too much trouble. They kind of give up when you get in front. If anyone wants, I can do it again and post the race up!

I have only ever played on professional difficulty with weak ABS as the only aid, so it is definitely doable. I also just mapped DRS recently for the Mclaren Time Trial and this is literally the first time I've ever used it in the SF19, all of my previous SF races were without DRS.

You wanna talk about impossible? The Fuji SF race is the DEVIL. It's been a long time since I've done that one, and I'm sure I didn't get a CRB, but I'm not doing that race again unless I have to! The AI there is weirdly fast, and the starting gap to first is a looog one.

the SF race kicked my ass. i got P2 so im gonna keep that.

my impossible challenge is the last menu book with the RB X2019. i won Sardegna and Dragon Tail but Interlagos is absolutely killing me. ive tried it on all difficulty but the best i can manage is P10.

anyone have a suggestion ?

Dang Daytona GR 1 10 lap (15?) was literally a pain in the tush, for two some years! Finally found the trick.

Also, you can get Gallo off the grid if you cycle through enough. Gallo really seems to be the uh… pain. 🫤

Not impossible, but pretty hard events that took me hours/days to gold (in no particular order):
1. CE: Tokyo Central (both directions), Bathurst, Nordschleife. The first two were frustrating as hell, 4-5 days of several hours of practice each. Nordschleife is all about learning the hell out of this long track.
Rally CE gave me headaches but managed them in 1-2 days each.
2. Human Comedy: Deep Forest and Lago Maggiore. Many cars attempted, many hours wasted. I am fairly sure the AI cheats in these races, especially in Lago Maggiore (Rubilar may go f himself).
Now after some time has passed I kinda miss them. It's a shame that those challenging races can't be replayed (with a reward of course).
3. Drift missions: hated all of them without exception. Daytona and Tsukuba may burn in hell.
4. The Pass missions: Fuji and Colorado Springs were pretty hard, but much less so than the ones mentioned above.
5. EDIT: Forgot to mention the beloved S-10/MS-10 license tests - couple of days to gold for me. Also IA-10 gave me some hard times, but I was pretty new to the game back then.

The regular events all come down to the choice of the right car with a proper tune. Super Formula and Red Bull ones are hard, but on a pleasant side.
Never cared much about CRB, so no feedback on that. But I agree it must be exceptionally hard in some events on a tight circuit.

Curiously that is not really the case.
I dont think it is difficult on for example Tokyo - especially considering any wall touching is allowed there.
I do think it is way more difficult on some more open tracks because of how easy it is to cut too much of a corner.
2. Human Comedy:
Im surprised by this call.
Deep Forest can really be overpowered with a good car, just picking the Taycan already is a sure way to win ;)
Other tunes can finish this race without requiring a single pit stop - without being slower per lap.

Maggiore as the last point of comment can be difficult at first, but seeing how players learn it then becomes easy.
I am saying this despite being a player who rarely invests enough effort to reach silver ratings in online time trials.
I simply accept being a one-trick pony for Maggiore and Tokyo and fail on all other tracks.
But I can assure you, there is no cheating involved.

It's doable, for sure! Just took me a long time to pick the car that suits me well.

Maggiore took a lot of practice to pull off consistent 1.57-8 laps.
Seeing Rubilar flying off track only to catch up half a lap later and Gallo getting lots of grip near the end of his stints makes me difficult to believe there's no cheating involved. Never cared too much to actually analize their replays, but it's definitely a spike in difficulty compared to regular events on Hard.

As for golding online TT I have a secret: iron ass to sit for hours of lapping. Considering there's nothing else to do in the game after you gold everything in offline mode, that's doable.
