I don't like it simply becasue it doesn't look Rally inspired. The 2002-2005 models I like, and that bugeye one (2000-2002?) was just plain...fugly. It made it look cheap. The 2007 WRX doesn't look rally inspired at all, but more of a cheap suburban import.

Wait a minute....I think I see a pattern in the WRX designs. The 99 model looked good but then we got bug eye which looked like a Hyandai or something. Then we got the next model which looked a whole lot better. Now Subaru HAVE to make a crappy looking WRX model as part of their 'pattern'. Now if my theory is correct the model after the 2007 will look like the best WRX yet!

First off, I don't like this new stacked-tall headlamp configuration, it just seems odd. And then the whole center nostril thing, not doing it for me. I hope Subaru doesn't follow BMW and Bangle-up their whole product line. 👎

Who does Subaru have designing their grilles? The front grille ruins the entire car, it just looks so damn ugly! I dread the day I will have to see all these monstrosities driving on the road. Or, maybe people will get some automotive taste, and avoid ugly Subarus.

I remember them denying that he had any influence on one the concept designs.*

Personally, the front made me think SLR/SLK. Maybe it was just the grill angle.

I liked their old styling. Legacy and Impreza looked very stylish, I really hope those are just some early desings

Umm.....I feel sick, why would they want a front end to look like this?! It looks like we got a new bangle, on our hands.......Now Subaru will be know for their 4wd systems, and butt ugly styling! Hey is it just me or does that SUV remind me of the Nissan Murano.........

The SUV is the Subaru B9X luxury crossover which will debut at Detroit in the next few days. It's the only "modern Subaru" that I don't particularly like.

As for the Impreza, I see nothing wrong with it. I have no problem with the B9SC either. They also already have the grille design on the Subaru R1 and R2 in Japan:

Both the R1 and R2 are fresh designs in the category, and I don't mind them at all. That nose actually works on them. The problem with the B9X is that the entire car looks overweight and heavy. What bothers me is the fact it seems Subaru is following the trend and getting rid of names for their cars, instead relying on simple alphanumerics like BMW and Mercedes.

I can't help but look at the back of the R1 and see a face, though.

I think the new WRX looks fine. As SlipZtrEm noted, Concept does look heavy, but I still think it's an beautiful car. I think they might have gone too far on the headlights, but rest of the car, in my opinion looks good enough to be Italian.

I don't like the little "R" cars and the SUV that much, but I will give them points on originality.

P.S. These new Subarus are not the ugliest cars ever, ZX2s and 2nd gen. Sables are very strong contenders though.....

Nah, I still think the Fiat Multipla is the ugliest car ever now that the ugly new Subarus have sunken into my mind.

I did an google image search to look at this Fiat, and yes, I've seen it in my coworkers European car magazine before. I'm not going to rave about this car, because I don't wanna push EvO over the edge . I'll just say, it looks kinda "fun".

I hope this is not the "new image" that Subaru is going for. If so, I'm going to be really disappointed. I still think the pre-01 Imprezas had better styling, rather than the beetle-eyes. The rear of that crossover looks like a warped Mazda 3...

Maybe you don't know already but Subaru has got a new house styler ( The greek Andreas Zapatinas) His job is "normally" to give the Subaru's a better look so they would be more attractive on the market. Thats the reason why they are aslo working on a boxer diesel engine.
But my concern is that this Greek has just the same ideas as Chris Bangle (the styler of BMW) to **** the cars up and make them ugly. The R2 and the concepts are the first examples of it.

SO --> GOOOOO NOW fast to the dealers to have a good looking Subaru now we still can!

I actually like the new Subaru look, I'm with The359 on this one, that BX9 is the only really bad one imo, the next Impreza looks great I think, the 2007 one looks good but it's a bit too different at the moment however I bet in 2007 we'll all be used to it.

I know, I know. I'm all for rebuilding of the Mitsubishi, but they really put themselves in a tough spot.

To those who didn't know, MMC were involved in an Recall Scandal, some died because of Mitsubishi's coverup of the defects. Last I read, MMC had been doing this for years. I believe they've already fired the key people involved.
