2005: the year the automobile industry shot all of it's designers.

I hope Subaru doesn't follow BMW and Bangle-up their whole product line.

I think my phrase is catching on!

Erf I'm going to really dislike these next couple of years. I should become a body designer so I can fix all the wrong-doings that these car people think are so lovely and attractive. Heck when I saw the concept SUV I immediately thought of RX330/RX300, and when I saw that Lancer Evo concept I thought of the Celica. I think I'm going to go cry.

did you all know that GM is the partial owner of subaru of america and saab? that's why the internals of the saab 9-2x wagon is exactly the same as Impreza
maybe in the future we have Saabaru :ill:

The term Saabaru has already been taken and the new Saab's built on Subaru platforms have been nicknamed that by the UK press.

LOL thats a coincidence. I now a few years ago when Ford en Volvo went together they said in the press of my country --> Fordolvo
and now Saabaru

What a world.

I don't mind the front end treatment but I'm not sure it fits right on the wrx. What I really don't like are the headlights. Maybe if they weren't split in the middle they would appeal to me a bit more, but I think they should be tossed.

horizontal headlights should stay horizontal. look what happened to the v35, and the buglight wrx.

i find those hideous compared to their horizontal sqaurer predecessors.

As for the partial owner of Subaru: that's "Fuji Heavy Industries".
i.e. Euclid-Hitachi.

PS- the new WRX is ugly

You're right, Subaru is a division of Fuji Heavy Industries. GM owns a controlling interest in Subaru (20%), but, at this point, Subarus do not share any components or vehicle platforms with other GM products. GM also has about a 20% stake in Fuji Heavy Industries.

Am I the only one here that actually likes the way the new Impreza looks?
lol, don't be worried, I put this photo on another forum (a french one) and most of the person prefer the impreza of 2007 than the current impreza :)
but as far as i'm concerned, i prefer the current impreza too

I figure i'll run my wrx into the ground by then. This is my first subaru and my wife now owns Forester XT, i will not buy anything but subaru from now on. They make great cars and have even better service. So bring on the ugly STi maybey the price will go down if no one buys it. 👍

i like the new look, tho those imprezas were only magzine renderings, usually paying for an artists interpretation. i doubt any of those imprezas are actual subaru press releases. but yeah, the new look will be good IF done correctly. i belive the theme is a central pentagonal intake followed by 2 flanking wings, like an airplane. something with its heritage in aviation, not sure really. much like evolution, those who cannot change will fall behind. so if you hate the new look, bangle-ized bmws, wait until all the baby boomers die off, then things will get very interesting.

that subaru impreza 2007 is going to have the looks of Subaru's new full size SUV that will come out this year in the us (2006 in europe), the B9 Tribeca or official name B9X.
you can see here the site of scoop photo's of the car.
NOTE: site is in dutch

When it was still a concept:

What you said,Z32, was correct about the airplane history of Subaru.
The new style on most (or maybe all) Subaru's will have to wings at the side of the car as "wink" to the airplane history of Subaru at the beginning.

I saw the best motoring video and there subaru is much better, those lancers are to much computer they said there
Possibly, but the Evo understeers less. Not as much torque though.

In the UK we have the Evo FQ 340 and according too all our press the EVO is a much more overall balanced and faster car.

I like evos i like imprezas. But an S4 over the 2 of dem anyday. Does anybody know if the follwing RS4 will have a sedan or coupe version. Also have audi got any coupe version planned for their A4's?

yeah don't start the EVO vs. STi battle. I've been in it hundreds of times. 90% time the driver makes the difference between those two in a heads up competition. I've actually drove both back to back and like the STi better, but thats me. We raced them both and the guy that owned the evo won in both cars. He drove the his Evo then they switched and the better driver won both times in different cars. Both are 04's and stock. This was a straight line race BTW, whoops i should listen to my own advise :guilty:

yeah cause lancers suck right? :dunce: anyway, all this talk about what the car will look like is there anyword on performance? Like more HP, or a suspision setup that will work as well but not give you the dump truck style ride of the STi of now.

Subaru's new full-sized SUV should be pretty brawny...I wonder what kind of engine it will have (I've done little to no effort to learn about it yet)?? Hopefully a V/flat-6 or a V/flat-8. An SUV with a flat-8 would be amazing. It would sound SOO amazing, holy frik.

In the UK we have the Evo FQ 340 and according too all our press the EVO is a much more overall balanced and faster car.

evo: 0-60 in 5.0 seconds (as fast a testarossa)
STi: 0-60 in 4.6 seconds (0.4 seconds faster than a testrossa)

Other than that they are probably the tightest competitors ever, mainly because they were both bred purely for WRC.

Duuh Subaru is faster

That lancer is only good to replace the dumptruck :P

P.S.: public secrecy thank you for that stakeholding stuff (You have a problem I copy it to show other people and some friends of mine?)
