I like the car that kicks the imprezas arse.

THE MIGHTY LANCER

Are you crazy!

First --> your wrong to tell that on this thread. You have some luck we only know you virtually

Second --> the car that kicks the lancer is Impreza (btw even LADA will still kick it) :sly:

Why post that here. Some serious Impreza fans probanly have posted here so you're probably gunna get your arse kicked. ;)

If not verbally, then I may IP flood you. hehehehe. Wouldn't you just love not being to connect to the internet? The new roadster looks kind of funky. It reminds me of the Z8. I hope it's 4WD/AWD, then it would be pretty sweet. I was kind of hoping for something along the lines of the M3 convertible, with AWD and the brawny designs. I've always thought of Subaru as a company that makes cars that don't mess around, they've always been kind of the the more manly and dirty japanese company.

Why is everyone making such a big deal about that guys post? Just answer my question so we can get back on topic! :grumpy:

Because it's a ridiculously off-topic, outspoken, and ignorant post. And no, I'm not anti-lancer. Lancers are good...in different ways.

Does the new '07 Impreza have an intercooler spray? That would be a nice feature.
We don't know much about the car yet, the chances are it will be closer to 400Bhp than that and it will be 4wd we don't know the cars specs.

OK, thank you. :)

So at this point its mostly speculation. :sly: [pun intended]

If it weren't for the [pun intended] I don't think many would have picked up on the pun. 400bhp, divided to four wheels? That sounds more around 290whp if you ask me. 300ish, maybe a little more anyway. thats what the current STi is now anyway, 302 or something.

No it will not be 290whp if thats ahat the current car is, the next generation of top performance cars from Japan will be pushing far more horsepower than the current cars now they arn't keeping with the gentlemens agreement anymore.

I thought the gentlemans agreement only pertained to top speed and acceleration regulations? And all of that could be monitered with gear ratio's anyway...

In Germany the agreement states that top speed should be constrained to 155mph. Except for Porsche... there are a few other exceptions I think. In Japan the agreement was 276 horsepower. Never heard of any acceleration regulations...

Jeff said something about cars not allowing to have a 0-60 any faster than 4.5s and a top speed any higher than 150, and in germany it was just an agreement saying they'd be governor'ed to 155mph. I thought I heard something about the horsepower regulations but wasn't sure. The 2004 STi has 300hp, and 300lb's tq dead on.

They did abandon the agreement, didn't they? It should be interesting to keep an eye on the horsepower ratings of the upcoming Japanese sportscars.

I know, now that the Gentleman's agreement has gone down the toilet, I imagine we can see some pretty good Evo VS STi action. This should make rallies pretty interesting.

If you mean WRC rallies then they won't increase in power since the WRC rules require certain restrictors. The agreement in Japan wa to limit the cars PS which is their measurment for Bhp, 280PS = 276Bhp. There was quite a few cars though that had more than that despite the published figures saying they were at 280Ps, the R34 GT-R for example could be bought with 280PS, take straight to a dyno and read around 330PS.

Yes, thats why were seeing concepts like the new Lexus supercar with 500Bhp and the next GT-R with anything upto 500 and possilby over. Weve already seen the R34 NISMO Z-Spec with 500Bhp come out the NISMO garage which is more than the usual for a factory tuned model.

You are talking about the STi's from Japan I noticed because when you buy one here in Belgium the HP is 265 for a Subaru Impreza WRX STi but I thought you can buy a version of 305HP aswell but I don't know for sure.

Eww that 2007 impreza is even worse than the bug eye one, infact significantly worse. I quite like the original imprezas & the 2004 one. Not sure I like the 'new' (2005?) 'nose job' impreza, looks ok apart from the nose which might be enough to put me off.

Never liked the Evos after VI visually either, look rather disjointed to me.
