11hrs on it and have just gone over 1 million CRs without even feeling like it's been a grind....you'd have to be super lazy to pay real money for CRs imho

While micro-transactions are irrelevant for me, I don't want Forza go down the same route as EA Sports' MUT/HUT/FUT have gone.

There you can purchase with either in-game credits or micro-transactions special packs to get (or for a chance to get) special items. From these special items you can collect a special set, which rewards you with an extra-special item. After you've collected several special sets and have rewarded with several extra-special items, you can turn these into a very-extra-special items etc. etc. The catch is that these special packs are a) time limited and b) very expensive.

So, will we have this kind of game economy in Forza 8? Most likely not, but this is the first step to the direction where you need to use real-world money (besides purchasing the game) if you want drive coolest/fastest cars in the game. In that light, I'm not thrilled about micro-transactions, and even less so after T10/M$ nerfed VIP bonuses.

T10 has been on the first step for 6 years, surely if they were going to go down that road they would have by now.

Well so far, no, I don't think I would need to resort to using real money/ microtransactions to get cars. I've been able to get a decent amount of credits and cars as is. But one thing I noticed is that some cars seem to cost more than they have before. Maybe I'm wrong, but the E36 M3 is about 100,000 credits now? Things like that.

So, for the first time in a Forza game I am not able to buy cars I want, when I want. That's not a bad thing, I like to earn cars, but when every time you buy a car you're credits vanish it seems. It also doesn't seem that career mode will provide enough funds to collect all the cars. Which is odd considering this Forza game encourages collecting.

As much as some cars cost (I have no idea why the X6M is over 400,000 credits) I haven't found an instance where I felt I needed microtransactions.

Maybe that's because of the exploit but I only do that to increase collection score and buy more interesting cars and the Exploit isn't really needed if you just want to go through the career, or at least I hope not as I've only gone through past the Breakout Championship. You may need to buy a real expensive car in one of the later series, I don't know.

The exploit is needed at all. It is easy to level up. Using the exploit is just a lazy way to do it. I had no trouble getting to tier 5 pretty quickly just by playing the game.

From the results of this thread, I'm going to say that any added MTs in the future are not that big of a deal with the current economy.

Havent needed it at all thanks to Dodge Ram XP exploit. But even without that I would never use MT in the game. If I wanted something I would just play the game to whatever point needed to unlock it. I've already shelled out $140 AUD on the game so apart from DLC etc Im not paying anymore.

Just because I have no need for them doesn't mean Im not against them though. There is a place for microtransactions but they should be only to speed up your gameplay not to lock game content behind a paywall in the from of loot boxes for example. If you don't have the patience and want to pay real money to obtain that ingame item a lot quicker then investing time and effort into the game then that's cool with me as long as the item is still available in game for those willing to put the time and effort into the game to obtain free of charge.
