Ok.

Grip race.

Arcade Tarmac Track with a Arcade car. +20% power -10% weight, Pick the tyres.

Rules
At lesat 2 tyres touching the tarmac/concrete/rumble strip/ cobblestones at all times.
No wall hits
You must save your replay and if you can upload it with your maxdrive, otherwise make a vid of it for verification?
No cheating
No grass cutting.

I'm not sure who will actually pick the combo's..

Drift event
I was hoping for about a 300 - 450ish HP FR car on a nice drift track like deep forest, grand valley, midfield, apricot hill, autumn ring etc etc.

The rules will be the same as a GTPDC and judges will treat it as one, every one in it will automatically be in "professional" division and will be required to submit an entire lap.

Deadline?

It would be nice to have 1 week for the grip race and about 1 - 2 weeks for the drift event?

Or is this not enough time?

sounds good
but
IMO i think you should have x week purely devoted to race, then your x weeks purely devoted to get a drift lap.
so if you had 1 week grip and 2 drift it would be 3 week total.

a good idea may be to hold the drifting first so the judging for that bit can go on while the participants are doing time attacks.

I would like to show my interest, although I haven't got a maxdrive a TV Card, I can only record with dig. cam. which probably isn't allowed...

Just to let you guys know, I haven't been just goofing around in GT4 for the past year :sly:

Cheers,

Just for the grip part, I would suggest using an FF car there to really seperate the drifting for the grip races.

If you race and drift with FR cars then the race will be very similar to the drift...event:idea: I suggest the Renault Clio, not the V6 one, the small one:sly:

Niels, it will be totally different ;)

Major difference between going for ultimate lap time and going for a Drift lap.

Thanks for your support guys!

Tankspan.... Boundary Layer that is a great idea 👍

we could have a 2 week deadline for the drift laps, then while they are getting judged have the grip event with a 1 week deadline 👍

We need to set a head judge to make this, so we can title our videos to make them independent to the judges.

I prefer to choose an Arcade Mode car. WRS racers surely would have problems setting up the car.

I think the better way to choose car/track combo is that one team set "the other area". I mean, drifters choose the grip event, and racers choose the grip event.

I think it's the best way to make it fair.

Are arcade cars easy to drift?

I dont think its all that hard to get a GT mode car to be half decent in drifting, but i havn't really tried drifting arcade cars...

Im fine with the drifters choosing the combo, but if they choose GT mode you need to have all non power parts fitted (except NOS or wing) as you cannont tell from replays if they are fitted or not. If they are arcade mode the weight has to be -10% as you cannot tell how much a car weights from the replays, and -10% weight is a big difference in lap times.

Some arcade cars are decent drifters, but obviously you can't get the same amount of angle/control as you can with tuned cars. I'd suggest using GT mode for the drift section because it will make the quality go up.

As for the time trial, I'd definitely suggest arcade mode for that... What I'm worried about is what rules we'll be using when it comes to tires.. and should we use only the first lap, so the tire type will flash on screen at the start of the capture? Just not sure how you do that, and I'm not too keen on using supersofts ;)

I prefer the grip event as Arcade Mode, +20 -10.

You can save your best lap and when you play it, the tyres always displays before the lap.

Sounds good guys! 👍

Well i suppose the next step is for each team to go away and pick a combo. Then post it here.

Grip team chooses the drift and Drift team choosed the grip combo 👍

Clear! Bzzzzt!

....

Bzzzt!

Are we still going through with this? It's getting close[ish] to summer, school's out soon (for some), not a bad time to do it.

I think that they are busy, if you want in on this. You have to prove that your a fast drifter ^-^👍 yup, siry bob ,you have to ^-^ 👍 prove that your fast while drifting. Pictures don't count 👎
